Ghatiana aurantica moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Ghatiana aurantica, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Control copyright icon Hello Demopan444! Your additions to Draft:Barytelphusa cunicularis have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 12:20, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I will rewrite the page tommorw. Demopan444 (talk) 16:34, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would be nice if it could be moved to my userpage or userdraft in the meantime Demopan444 (talk) 16:35, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Leoneix, the source is CC-licensed, please see the about page of the journal article.
Otherwise, Demopan, thank you for your edits.
You have copied content from a Creative Commons-licensed source into the article, which is allowed.
However, please note that you must always add a relevant notice that the content is copied beyond simply citing it, using a template like {{cc-notice}}; I have fixed it for you in the meantime.
Please see this page for further information. Thank you! – Isochrone (talk) 19:05, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you have added Creative Commons licensed text to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Minervarya gomantaki. You are welcome to import appropriate Creative Commons licensed content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Compatibly licensed sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any Creative Commons content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 12:11, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa i will use an attribution tempate, thank you. how do I know what license a research paper is however? Demopan444 (talk) 12:18, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Look carefully at the paper and find the license. If you can't find a license or you see a copyright symbol then you have to assume it's copyright. That said, I have now downloaded the paper and I see the message "Copyright © 2015 Magnolia Press" so it looks like I made a mistake; we can't copy from that paper. — Diannaa (talk) 12:33, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So i would have to rewrite everything in my words? Demopan444 (talk) 14:14, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. — Diannaa (talk) 14:34, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, I will rewrite them all without any problem. I wanted to rework that page anyway. In the meanwhile you can see my sandbox here:
https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Demopan444/sandbox
I use this to freely make pages before putting them into mainspace wikipedia, you will see no copyrighted material. Demopan444 (talk) 14:11, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Copyright content is not allowed anywhere on Wikipedia, not even in sandboxes or drafts. Don't add copyright material anywhere on this website, not even temporarily for editing. Thanks — Diannaa (talk) 22:07, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa I did not. i litteraly told that I didn't add copyrighted material to that page as a showcase Demopan444 (talk) 00:58, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were clear on the rules. A lot of people don't know — Diannaa (talk) 01:04, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Diannaa alright no problem buddy. I'll try not to do this. I'll write everything in my own words Demopan444 (talk) 01:26, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Look at this new page of mine https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Flueggea_leucopyrus

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Oligodon tillacki, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gujrat. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 18:04, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
