Speedy deletion nomination of User:Deep-learning-fan/sandbox
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Deep-learning-fan/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. VVikingTalkEdits 19:59, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

{{unblock reviewed |1=I wanted to create a page. Wikipedia instructions told me to do it in my sandbox. User Fastily deleted it as 'spam', so, I read further and saw that I can propose an article, so I did. Another editor found it to be lacking in notability, so I started researching. I don't understand why this is considered an 'advertising account' ? If there's a COI, it's because he was a teacher on a course I took. I don't know what suspect UPE is. Why, if I am following the rules, am I being punished? I don't get it. Deep-learning-fan (talk) 05:46, 31 July 2021 (UTC) |decline = Blocks are not a punishment, but a means to end disruption. Your draft was nothing but a resume or list of accomplishments; a Wikipedia article must do more than tell about what someone has done, it must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a person, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person or a notable academic. Posting content as you did is often done by users who treat this as a social media website for posting resumes, or who pay someone to do so- paid editing must be disclosed- not declaring is Undeclared Paid Editing(UPE). If you are not an undeclared paid editor, please tell us what other topics you might edit about. I am declining your request at this time. 331dot (talk) 06:42, 31 July 2021 (UTC)}
THanks for the response. I am not an undeclared paid editor, and I can only guess what that is. I'm happy to edit on any topic around deep learning, AI etc. But, I have to say my experience this time has made me wonder why I would want to do that? First off I use my sandbox to create a page (as instructed to do) and get blocked because I was accused of hosting content. It's a *sandbox*. Isn't the very definition of a sandbox where you work on something and *fix your mistakes*, but nope. I get blocked, and when I ask why...there's no answer. Then, when I go through the other route to create a page, this happens. I've listed other pages that are similar to the one I edited...yet they are allowed, and mine is flagged as conflict of interest, unpaid editing etc. I did read the rules of notability, and I did read other, similar, pages, and constructed this one the best I could in the same way. How can I be confident, after all that, that anything else I edit or add won't be flagged also? I followed the rules!Deep-learning-fan (talk) 14:20, 1 August 2021 (UTC)}
