Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Oakdale Christian Academy

A tag has been placed on Draft:Oakdale Christian Academy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. [edit]Hello Davidbolthouse. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to User:Davidbolthouse, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Davidbolthouse. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Davidbolthouse|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. creffett (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Oakdale Christian Academy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Oakdale Christian Academy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Editing with a possible conflict of interest
[edit]Hello Davidbolthouse. - @SamHolt6: Considering that this user received a level-4 paid warning already and did not respond, it's probably time to ban. creffett (talk) 18:11, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
We are NOT a paid advocate, we are a contracted, outsourced marketing and communications department for the organization, and as such have full right to write about the specific organization we work for. Surely we are allowed to write about the organization and make edits if we are legally a part of the organization, to ensure that any additions or edits are in fact true and factual. Without the organization’s input, Wikipedia would have a lot of false information from uninformed people. Davidbolthouse (talk) 20:22, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for finally responding. "We are NOT a paid advocate, we are a contracted, outsourced marketing and communications department for the organization" - correct me if I'm wrong, but "contracted marketing and communications department" pretty much sounds like the definition of a paid editor (unless they aren't paying you, which seems rather unlikely for a contracted marketing department). Now, given that you have managed to ignore every other paid-editing warning on this page, I would strongly recommend that you review WP:PAID and disclose that relationship on your user page, since you have done a whole lot of undisclosed paid editing so far and are right on the edge of a block for violating the Terms of Use as an undisclosed paid editor. Oh, also: your use of "we" suggests that this is a shared account. I certainly hope that it isn't, since account-sharing is also against Wikipedia policy. creffett (talk) 20:47, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

Waterford Country School moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Waterford Country School, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Request reason:
Thank you for sharing your concerns about “creating articles at a rapid rate for secondary schools with little or no notability”. These schools are fully accredited at a national level, which was noted on these articles. Some of them have less than 50 students but others are larger. I don’t believe that student body count equals notability. I’d be happy to send/add more information on the schools in question. As for your other concern of “Also virtually never has independent sources,” the directories sited objectively feature various schools around the country, so this seemed appropriate. Unblock requests
[edit]Please do not post multiple unblock requests all saying essentially the same thing - please post just one unblock request, which must address the actual reason for your block - "Paid editing without a full disclosure." Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:18, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
- David, some of those requirements are that you post the proper disclosure templates on both your userpage and on the talk page of any article you edit for pay; that any article you create for pay go through WP:AFC, and that any edits of factual material or any major copyedits or formatting changes on existing articles that you are editing for pay be submitted for discussion at the article's talk page in the proper format with referencing. Wikipedia is not here for PR. We write about notable subjects. You will be expected to learn what is and isn't acceptable on Wikipedia, and you will be required to do your paid work in such a way that it causes the unpaid editors who make up the bulk of Wikipedians as little extra work as possible. I'd also suggest losing the thought process that led to your, to say the least, elliptical, statements above, which translated from PR-speak to English read: "We are not editing for pay, we are editing for pay". No subject deserves or is entitled to an article here; same with edits adding facts to articles. It is all decided by consensus, a large part of which is already decided and codified in the form of policies and guidelines. You will also need to address the use of this account by others. The article Elk Mountain Academy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This is a treatment program that has an educational component to its program. It is not a school pre se. The low bar for notability we afford schools is based on their position in the community as a social institution, not on the fact that they provide educational services. This place fails WP:NORG by a country mile.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Speedy deletion nomination of Oakdale Christian Academy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Oakdale Christian Academy, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
