Thanks for uploading Image:HCawhoswhoroadofliving.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. I think its good though remember to include the references and suitablue pictures (ask me for them)

Reply if nessacary.

WikiSandbox1 (talk) 06:08, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I got caught up thinking that the V class was diesel hydraulic as well - there is also V544 (?) a one off 4000 HP EMD unit bought new by Freight Australia with the insurance money from two written off G classes. They only ran it on the SCT train on the SG so that why I forgot about it! Wongm (talk) 06:29, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Although there is a V class diesel electric it is not a VR locomotive, when i created/modified that template it was with the intention of it containing locomotives, rail motors and suburban electric trains run, built or purchased by the VR or its later forms, So we could either create another template for locomotives not built(V class diesel-electric) or modified (CS class diesel-hydraulic) by the VR but have run/are running in Victoria or maybe add an extra section to the VRLocos template to show these locos, what do you think? --Dan027 (talk) 07:37, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is a difficult one - as you say, some locos were never 'VR' as such. On the other hand, I think two templates are too messy though. If you say 'ran in Victoria' then you include NRs and everything else you see on the standard gauge freights. Perhaps change the header to link to Rail transport in Victoria but leave out the interstate locos - it seems the best out some bad options. Wongm (talk) 08:50, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replying

[edit]

Hello, this is WikiSandbox1 and I am returning your reply on the article.

No, I don't think its necessary to make a second template though what we should to is when the article is (or if it will be), to state this following information, to tell other users about it. Though it was a good idea, thanks for bringing it up.

When you say 'edit sumarries' do you mean to include the references. If so I can understand because somone else told me how to do it and havent had a chance to do so.

By the way, its good to have someone keen to work on this topic. I have spoken to anyone like this before.

If it is neccecary, reply again so that more progress is made.

Have a Happy New Year!

Reply on Victorian Railways Template

[edit]
Hi, recently you have been reverting a couple of edits i have been making, the XR, XRB and V class locos were not converted or purchased for the Victorian Railways body, The V class was purchased by Freight Australia as a replacement for 2 Victorian Railways G class locos, The XR locos were converted from Victorian Railways locos by Freight Australia and XRB locos were built for Pacific National, so none of these locomotives sound be used the naming convention of "Victorian Railways - class (diesel)", please dont revert the changes to the template again. Also you can read about how to make edit summary's here Help:Edit summary, cheers --Dan027 (talk) 01:16, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you could guess who this is.

I think you have convinst me into not editing the template. Though I will tell you why i did it.

  • It would make more sense and to make everything the same if we were to add 'Railways' into the phase. Though I think its fare enough to say that they were introduced to the list. Its just to keep everything the same.........
  • I added XR and XRB because if we were to include the others (including the V) if would be unfair, as well as they are a class. 1 of the 2 has been finished, is it possible for you to finish off the other? If not I'll do it myself.

Also to mention that template has pogressed very well of the 2 months. More articles have been added and this helps make things easier.

To add, after the locomotives section, I will be moving on to railway stations info. For example, adding new lines and adding more infomation.

I am notifying you that I have asked an Administrator to have a talk about these loco related subs. If thats okay with you, great!

I have noticed you are partly interested in railways. If thats true, good because I am planning to create the 'Robinvale railway line' (go to Dunolly railway station). I have already underway with this small project. Oh and by the way, if youve noticed the interfaces change on the Mildura railway line, some edited them (not logged in). I am telling you that it wasnt me, so please try not to put the blame on me.

It seems the only way we talk to each other is with this template. (see below)

Have a good 2008 and reply soon (if possible)

WikiSandbox1 (talk) 02:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And was this template you are about to look at originaly desinged for locos built by the VR?

The template was originally created for Victorian Railways steam locomotives, in recent months i have modified it to included other classes of locomotives, rail motors and suburban electric trains.
That sounds good i have had intentions of creating more line and station articles, i have created alot of the tourist railway station articles and alot of the lines and station in the Gippsland region, when i get a chance over the weekend ill add locomotive information to the articles you created this morning. --Dan027 (talk) 04:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replying to you (sorry for the late reply )

[edit]

Firstly, I should state how sorry I am for not replying for a long time. I have been quite busy (real life) nd so I have not had a opportunity to reply. If you are frustrated, I can understand.

I am wrapped that you have fixed up all the those articles so that people can understand them and most importantly make sense. Though I have noticecd that I have created the T class article, though no one has fixed it up. If you think it is good, fantastic! If not, it is possible to edit it to make it into a respectable article? It would be widely appreciated.

Regarding the template, I am proposing to begin the G and XR articles, then all the work is completed for that section. (I hope) A question, do you think that it would be a good idea to include the carriages, for example. H sets, N sets, S sets and Z sets. Just to add something.

I noticed on your talk page about adding classes like the BL, NR, D/EL. I would just like to notify you that they are locomotives on working on interstate duties. Therefore it would be pointless including them. The V loco is on interstate, but was built in Victoria, same with the XR and XRB.

I wanted to bring up this point, your last reply stated that you replyed at 04:17 in the morning. Is that because you are somewhere apart from Australia or you go up at that time? (Im not a stalker)

Sorry for the long reply, just to tell you im on WikiBreak for a few days (4-5) then hopefully I'll get a chance to reply again.

Have great day and who knows, we just might bump into each other ?! Seeya!!!

Thanks for uploading Image:Catani-layout-1922.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. Hello. You have been identified as having added or removed direct external map service links in articles[1]. There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:External links#Issues with inclusion or exclusion of map service links about which should be done, and some more opinions would be good to find community consensus. --Para (talk) 23:01, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting notable fans section on Collingwood article

[edit]

See header. Why did you do it?

I don't really want it on the article either but is their any particular reason why it shouldn't be there? Cheers Jabso (talk) 14:56, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hey, this was brought up several months ago by myself on the Wikiproject AFL talk page, you can see the conversation here --Dan027 (talk) 06:56, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey?

[edit]

Hey Dan027, are you there?

Its me WikiSandbox1, we havent been in touch for a long time, maybe should

we talk to each other?

Please reply, if your angry with me, I can understand.

But I might not reply soon.....

WikiSandbox1 (talk) 06:22, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nah your alright, havent had a great deal of time for wikipedia the past few weeks.
When i get afew hours free i might finish off the locomotive info boxes for the G class and T class articles. I have also started working on compiling information on pre-1900 steam locomotives used in victoria on one of my test pages, feel free to add any contributions if you wish.
Also we have recently started a conversation on creating some standards to be used in Victorian railway line and station articles here, feel free to add anything you want to the conversation.
If there anything else you want help with or are thinking of doing feel free to let me know.
cheers --Dan027 (talk) 09:40, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Old locos

[edit]

Re: User:Dan027/TestPage1.

I have a copy of the book 'Power Parade' by VicRail - details in one or two paragraphs wheel arrangement, numbers, builder, build year, and withdrawal of every class. The classes didn't come in until 1880s or thereabouts which makes naming article hard - perhaps group them in Early steam locomotives of the Victorian Railways?

Also, the Phoenix Foundry of Ballarat might be an interesting subject. Picked up some $0.50 copies of 1990s Newsrail magazines today, partly for my own site's research, and for here too. Got closing dates for all passenger lines since 1960, but should be studying at uni though. Got a good book about Seymour and the railways there as well - need to take some better station photos when up there next, keep forgetting.  :-( Wongm (talk) 10:27, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about taking so long to reply, been rather busy in the real world this week.
I'm not sure on what to name the article yet, its more of a long term project I've started for myself still in the very early stages. I was going to refer to the locos under the class just because it makes it easier on my part and then in the individual sectionsmention previous numberings and names.
A Phoenix Foundry article would be good to accompany the article.
I have been meaning to spend one Sunday i have free to travel up and down the Pakenham/Cranbourne lines taking some better photos for those articles, however i seem to have very few Sundays free to do so. --Dan027 (talk) 09:40, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hey Again!

[edit]

Dan027, its me WikiSandbox1.

Fare enough, thats perfectly normal to not be able to talk for a amout of time, I went thorgh the same at one stage!

Good, Im glad that you have been finishing off some articles, I have already done some myself, but stll they couold need a bit of fixing up. I'll look at the thing on your test page.

If an opportunity comes, then I will add to the conversation about railways, seeing as I am into them alot.

I need to tell you this immediatly, something awesome happend on the weekend:

I live on one of the suburbs on the Frankston line (McKinnon), and sometimes we get V/Line A locos pass down on their way to stony point.

At 12:23, on the 16/03/2008, I saw something I couldn't believe, I saw off the edge of the street V/Line loco N463 pass on its way to Fankston for Stony Point duty. It that rare? I think so. Maybe you might be able to tell me why that happened?

Thanks for returning my call, I appreciate it alot

Reply to me it you need me at all

WikiSandbox1 (talk) 04:45, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

:The N class you saw was testing new signals on the stony point line, you can read about it here and there are afew pictures too. --Dan027 (talk) 11:35, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Thanks 4 Returning

[edit]

Hey, thanks so much for telling me about the N463 senario. I was extremly puzzled about it and I thought that you might be able to tell me about (seeing as you know more about trains then me) what happened.

Hey, where do you find this infomation, about where to find VLocity railcars and V/Line locos and why they are their? I would like to know.

I had trouble looking at the photos on the link you provided me, though I found some on Vicsig.

Take care of yourself and maybe one day we might bump into eachother?!

Hey, do you know where exactly is VL29 at the moment, Im proposing to take a picture, also I fixed up the Robinvale line and created the Kulwin line. Have a look!

See Ya!

WikiSandbox1 (talk) 07:18, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I found out that the Stony Point line is going to replaced with Sprinter railcars, then VLocitys and I was wondering do you need a licence to go up to any railway station or locomotive and take a photo of it? I'm curious.

Softball at the 2008 Summer Olympics

[edit]

I think the phrase about men competing in baseball is important so people don't mistake softball as a discriminatory sport. The phrase doesn't necessarily imply that men never play softball, and it's important especially when some olympic sports are sexually discriminatory, such as ski jumping. I'm not undermining your authority on softball, which I'm sure is extensive compared to mine... Devahn58 (talk) 15:34, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess i just see the two as completely separate sports, i should of brought it up on the talk page first. The sentence could be seen as useful, its just not worded in a way that i agree with Olympic softball is competed by women only, with men competing in the similar sport of baseball. to me that sentence is saying at the Olympics women play softball and men play baseball, which in some ways is true but leaves the door open to men who play softball are playing baseball in the Olympics or men don't play softball, im just not sure on a better way of wording it, any ideas?
sorry if i came across abit rude, working outside in the rain all week can make me abit grumpy haha.--Dan027 (talk) 09:56, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You know, I see where you're coming from, and I tried to think of a better wording, but it's not coming to me. There needs to be some sort of clarification that the sentence is referring to the Olympics only, but I can't do it without it sounding awkward. Maybe we should bring it up on the talk page, if you haven't already? (It's been raining here in Ontario every other day since May... I feel your pain) Devahn58 (talk) 14:04, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dan027, it's good to hear from you again.

So you don't use Wikipedia as mush as you used to? Most people say that because they are busy in real life. Though I can understand that, we all have our own priorities that are important to us. I'm busy in real life with school work and other things, though I still have sometime for Wikipedia.

The reason I wrote a message (that you replied to) is because you hadn't been replying to my past messages. Were you on WikiBreak or something? That's all I could think off.

I found a link to your User Page (nice photo!). Interested about AFL? I'm into soccer but I follow Carlton. I hope they will make the finals in 2009.

Anyway, it's good to hear from you again.

[edit]

Hello!

You may be interested to know that WikiProject Punk music has recently undergone a major revitalization. Please visit the project page to see our new look and check out some of our helpful new features, such as the Assessment Department and the Collaboration of the week. There are also a number of tasks on our Things to do page that you may be interested in helping with.

We are currently holding a roll call to help gauge how many active project members we have. Please visit the project's talk page and add your signature to the roll sheet to express your continued interest in the project. Also, if you have not already done so, please take a minute to add your name to the Participants page along with a brief summary of your punk-related interests, so that other project members will be better able to collaborate with you. If you do not add your signature to the roll sheet by November 30, 2008 your name will be moved to our list of inactive members. We may also take the liberty of removing the project userbox from your userpage if it appears there, to prevent you from automatically appearing in Category:WikiProject Punk music members. Of course you are free to rejoin the project and re-add the userbox at any time if you would like to become active in the project again.

Thank you and we hope you will continue to support WikiProject Punk music!

Replaceable fair use Image:BaseballParkPerthStage2.JPG

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:BaseballParkPerthStage2.JPG. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 18:56, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Softball ACT2.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image tagging for File:Millane.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Millane.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:03, 26 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Muckleford-railway-station.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Muckleford-railway-station.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 00:59, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
