Hello! I have currently started a discussion on member sections over at https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Musicians#Create_Member_Section.2FTimeline_Standards, and I was wondering if you were interested in contributing and willing to help get more people to voice their opinion on the matter? Have a great day/night! Thanks! 75Indians75 (talk) 02:47, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I am very interested in contributing! Thanks for the heads up. Attempts at this have been made before unsuccessfully, but I would love if we could finally reach a consensus. – DLManiac (talk) 21:18, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Def Leppard, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ian Hunter. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. thank you so much for your contributions to wiki via the timelines!

i am an artist based in Seattle and was inspired to begin archiving timelines for bands after wondering what happened to Yellowcard (band)- i started a blog documenting these (your) efforts-

i have you listed as a contributor and creator @ http://bandwidthlife.tumblr.com/ty

do you know any other timeline makers i ought to contact? also, would you be interested in participating in an online interview? i would like to create a zine about timeline makers featuring the standardized aesthetic. i can be contacted via email at bluemonk@uw.edu

hope you find all of this well.

warmth,

An article you recently created, The Story So Far – The Best Of, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Merging templates of the WDF with the BDO

[edit]

Hello can you explain why your merged the templates of the world governing body of Darts the World Darts Federation with a national governing body of darts the British Darts Organisation. National federations have the same objectives as an international federation, but within one country example Great Britain who are just members of the world body. For example the United States Tennis Association is the national body of tennis for the United States which is a member of the International Tennis Federation the world governing body. I accept you were trying to streamline the template but it is not correct to merge the two because there over 80 other national bodies that also have their own locally ranked tournaments.--Navops47 (talk) 03:58, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know in relation to merging information regarding world and national governing bodies of sport together per WP Project Sports guidelines I have raised this at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Sports.--Navops47 (talk) 04:22, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I see where your coming from but I think that does not apply here. The point of navigation boxes is navigation between articles. 2 navigation boxes that have 90% overlap do not achieve that goal. The BDO and WDF deserve to remain separate and have separate pages, but that does not mean that they’re navboxes should be distinct. And I believe it is kept clear in the template which ones are not part of both organizations. DLManiac (talk) 06:52, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
An additional point to make, is that the BDO ranks various international tournaments, and not just ones in Britain. That is the reason for much of the overlap.DLManiac (talk) 22:46, 8 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for double checking that release date. As it's a European release, I think Tuesday December 5, 2000 is an import date for the USA. I'm going to change the date to Nov. 2, 2000, as that is the first release date I can find. If you have any different info, please let me know.PPAACCMAN4 (talk) 04:23, 10 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

[edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

A tag has been placed on Category:PDC World Cup of Darts French team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, DLManiac. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2020 PDC Players Championship series".

2022 PDC World Cup map refresh

[edit]

Hey DLManiac, do you think you could update the map to switch the colours of Russia, China and Greece with that of New Zealand, Latvia and Switzerland....??JRRobinson (talk) 07:58, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Darts sets tournament bracket templates indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Template;PDCTeam

[edit]

Hi. I noticed you created the template {{PDCTeam}}. You need to provide it with parameter though that allows it to be use while not displaying a flag icon. That's the only way its use in prose would be acceptable.Tvx1 14:47, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Tvx1:, my goal was not to use this template for prose, but rather use [[Scotland at the PDC World Cup|Scotland]] which will redirect properly, but I guess that I could also include in the template itself. I will work on it. DLManiac (talk) 16:01, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Tvx1: there is now a 'noflag=1' option. DLManiac (talk) 16:11, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Problem is, some editors started using in prose in some articles despite your goal, so it really needed to be adapted. Thanks for your quick reaction and changes. Tvx1 16:12, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
