Pinging—or lack thereof

(Note that I am on the list of people Collect mentioned, which should be clear from what I wrote. Consequently, my experience is probably more relevant than your assertion.)

For whatever reason, I did not receive a ping notice. The last two notifications I have received are a thank you (posted after my second post) and a notification about the last edit to my talk page, three months ago. Even if I had accidentally cleared the ping, it still would show up in my notification history, and it does not. I cannot speak for any of the other editors, but it did not universally ping us, and as Euryalus noted, it will not make a difference on the arbitration, because the decision is not based on numbers, at all. The only people who vote on this are the arbitrators, and that decision cannot be influenced by canvassing, since the their consensus is based on a defined number of people. The proscription on canvassing in relevant to things such as xFD, RFA, and discussions about editing specific pages. Horologium (talk) 23:47, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

Possibly I had a typo? Meanwhile, I was scolded unmercifully for not pinging people I mentioned - where I wished to show that those who believed the PNAC table was SYNTH appeared to substantially outnumber those who felt it was proper, I was required, by protestations at Jimbo's talk page, to ping them on any page I was unsure they were following. By the way, if I were CANVASSing there - just what the hell was I CANVASSing for? If one can not answer that, then CANVASS is absolutely irrelevant except as one more thing to WP:HARASS me about. Cheers. Collect (talk) 00:06, 2 April 2015 (UTC)

Under no circumstances

Ironic, huh? Well done. Bishonen | talk 19:15, 7 April 2015 (UTC).

Clearly you are editing posts with emotions.

You are clearly editing wikipedia articles with emotions. I am merely editing out opinions in an attempt to keep the article as factual as possible. Wikipedia editors need to be held to higher standards. Your accusations of a edit war are ridiculous. I will continue to edit the article, and remove bias and opinionated material. You edit the article at a whim, yet you deny other the same access to the source. You are a tyrant and a bigot. I will bring this issue before the wikipedia community.76.111.172.54 (talk) 21:27, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

I'd suggest you learn a little bit about how Wikipedia works, including WP:AGF. It will serve you well in the long run. - Cwobeel (talk) 21:39, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
I've read the material on edit warring, and you are clearly engaging in an edit war. You are adding material within cited lines of text that are clearly not claimed within the references cited. You are clearly editing other editors additions without regard for the talk page. You have no regard for the process.76.111.172.54 (talk) 22:46, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
And now you attempt to silence me by threats of a ban over false allegations of an edit war. This will not work. Over the course of learning more about how to deal with toxic contributors like you, I will bring these issue to light among the wikipedia community.76.111.172.54 (talk) 22:50, 9 April 2015 (UTC)

Rand Paul president section

Howdy. I saw your talk page thread about the (obscene) size of the Rand Paul presidential campaign section. Could you take another look at that section and let me know what you think. Is it slim enough now? PrairieKid (talk) 06:05, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

@PrairieKid: Much better, thanks. - Cwobeel (talk) 14:43, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

List of Superior Defender Gundam Force characters

I am disputing your reversing of my edit. Please see the talk page for this article. Mattwo7 (talk) 04:53, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

@Mattwo7: Could you provide a diff of that edit? It may have been a false positive while patrolling recent changes. - Cwobeel (talk) 14:25, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
If you mean mine, I wasn't logged in at the time, but it was the most recent wiping of dubious info that has little credibility for the reasons I mentioned on the talk page, it's easier to prove something does exist than to prove something doesn't, especially with what little reliable evidence (as in the kind that is deemed acceptable here on wikipedia) exists, but I think what I have mentioned should be sufficient unless sources are actually provided. Here's the diff for your convience though: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=List_of_Superior_Defender_Gundam_Force_characters&diff=prev&oldid=655731554 Mattwo7 (talk) 16:45, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
I was patrolling recent changes and saw a 9500 characters deletion from an article, by an anonymous user, so I reverted out of caution. If this was a false positive, you can always undo that revert. - Cwobeel (talk) 21:56, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
So much for "good faith". Oh well, thanks for the clarification. Mattwo7 (talk) 17:34, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Scott pre-RfC

We're not going to get any NPOV-expert opinions at WP:NPOVN, so it's looking like an RfC starting tomorrow or Saturday. We're doing some pre-RfC, would you care to take a look? Especially the BACKGROUND SUMMARY. ―Mandruss  19:53, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Please Revert Content Removal on Katy, TX

Hi Cwobeel, I removed that section from the Katy, TX article because it appeared to digress from the content of the page. While the expansion of the KBR corporate footprint would've been marginally relevant if it had come to pass, the fact that it didn't seems to negate its importance in inclusion in the town's Wikipedia entry. Furthermore, the fact that the decision was from 2008 seems to solidify the stance that this would've been of transient importance at best to the historical economy of Katy. Accordingly, I stand by my recommendation of the elimination of this particular content.

Cheers! Note. First time commenting on a talk page, so sorry if I did so incorrectly. --SubseaDragon (talk) 00:02, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Please can you help with the page Arab slave trade

Hi, sorry to bother you but I see that you like edit controversial articles. If you don't mind would you help improving Arab slave trade's page, and maybe comment in the talk page. Thank's in advance. Rupert loup (talk) 16:41, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

I see what is going on. --Inayity (talk) 06:21, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
Inayity reverted your edition, there was already a discussion about the page that I didn't notice. My english is very poor in comparison with his english level, it's not my mother tongue so I don't think that I can argue with him. Rupert loup (talk) 08:55, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

@Inayity: Please discuss in talk page and assume good faith. - Cwobeel (talk) 14:24, 25 April 2015 (UTC)

The last encounter Racialism over something as simple as TAGGING makes me not assume to much good faith. I fear Wikipedia is degraded into DO What you want and push your way around. I live in SA and know from their work in Africa that the African Holocaust Society is one of the largest independent online groups - working with Unesco Anti-Slavery society , yet you call it Self published. I close my case, I guess my Jewish learning and Democracy now are also self published LMAO.? Do me one small favor, do not reply and do what you want to do, i am in semi-retirement. Have fun.Good night and good luck. --Inayity (talk) 09:25, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Synonyms

Is there a particular reason why you oppose synonyms, as you insinuated at East Jerusalem. Saadbuuwirey (talk) 17:00, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

@Saadbuuwirey: - I see your point, but the use of "Palestinian Jerusalem" is not common. - Cwobeel (talk) 17:04, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Important missing information for "Richard K. Diran"

Hello, I can see that you've made great contributions to the Richard K. Diran wiki page and wanted to share more information, which would make wikipedia more valuable. The book Bangkok Babylon is used in many citations on Diran's wikipage, yet I don't think anyone has read the book thoroughly. I found a link from Google books which shows part of the interview with Mr. Diran in Bangkok Babylon, and certain things which he had stated that would correlate with the stolen Buddha and smuggled antiquities. Here is the link. https://books.google.com/books?id=eYDQAgAAQBAJ&pg=PT8&lpg=PT8&dq=romancing+the+stones+diran+bangkok&source=bl&ots=gf3J13jHBq&sig=tAYzbKwDOW6Wx2p6lC075LSB_6A&hl=en&sa=X&ei=PKwVYejEYmfsAW4yoCYAw&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=romancing%20the%20stones%20diran%20bangkok&f=false I have also found a webpage that discusses Mr. Diran's history, which may also be of value to you. http://stopsexslaveryofchildren.org/richard-k-diran.html

Thank you for helping to make wikipedia more accurate and dependable P.S. it seems that RickBrown has been deleting many important documented pieces from Diran's wiki page. I think he is working with Diran to remove the truth that may harm his reputation.Jjjulie6 (talk) 22:58, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
