RFA

Hmm. Again, you still haven't been here a year, and you might get some flak for that. It might be best to wait until April, most admin potentials have edited for at least a full year. Like I said, you're still showing potential, but I don't know if you're quite there yet. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshellsOtter chirpsHELP) 22:55, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Pharmacologic categorization

I have started a discussion of categorizing pharmacology articles at WT:PHARM:CAT and would really appreciate your input. Also, could you please pass word of this discussion to any other editors you think might consider contribution to the conversation? kilbad (talk) 20:06, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I would still be interested in your feedback if you are available? kilbad (talk) 15:05, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Sure, I'll add feedback in the near future.Cssiitcic (talk) 22:05, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Sir -

You have requested that a page I contributed be "speedily deleted" because you class it as vandalism. I contest this wholeheartedly; please see the following link: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article5536818.ece

I look forward to your reponse.

Warfarin

Yes, thanks for nominating warfarin for GA candidacy. In future I would really request that you remain involved with the article after nominating it for GA candidacy. I personally wasn't convinced the article was ready for GAC and processed the GA review during a rather busy period. Still, there it is. JFW | T@lk 20:07, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Cssiitcic. You have new messages at Ioeth's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 16:47, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in GA reviewing. However, the review you left for the above article is not really acceptable; the article does not yet meet the GA criteria, and we expect all reviewers to follow the criteria when reviewing. If you intend reviewing articles in the future, you should first make sure that you are familiar with the criteria and how they are applied to the article under review. Some ways to do this are to look at other open reviews; to try taking an article through GA yourself; and to compare the article you're assessing with other similar articles that have passed their GA assessment (you can find these listed at WP:GA). You can also ask one of the GA mentors at WP:GAN/M for advice. Thanks, EyeSerenetalk 18:58, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Help Me

{{helpme}} Hi, I've noticed that some uses have the green + sign indicating that they helped bring a page to GA status. i've brought up warfarin and I wonder how I can do that. Thanks!Cssiitcic (talk) 19:08, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

You can use the template {{GA icon}}. See: Cheers! Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 19:41, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Help Me-Message Bot

{{helpme}} Hi, is there a bot that can distribute one message to all members of the Pharmacology WikiProject? Thanks.Cssiitcic (talk) 20:56, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I can do it for you with AWB, if you like - who do you want it delivered to? neuro(talk) 21:00, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
That is, which usernames specifically? neuro(talk) 21:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Can you do every member of Wikiproject Pharmacology?Cssiitcic (talk) 21:14, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Sure, just tell me the message to send. neuro(talk) 21:19, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
You can send this template: {{User:Cssiitcic/Templates/Alprazolam Message}} to everyone as is. Please so not add any headers or signatures. Thanks!Cssiitcic (talk) 21:29, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Uh, that's not really an appropriate candidate for mass sending. Mass sending of messages is usually for more urgent matters, or at least something which is subscribed to. neuro(talk) 21:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
So, you mean you can't do it?Cssiitcic (talk) 21:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
It's not that I can't, it's that it is not an appropriate candidate for mass sending. neuro(talk) 21:40, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Not a member

I got a GAN notification message from you about a drug article, but I am not a member of WikiProject Pharmacology.--ragesoss (talk) 02:26, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Vault 2

A tag has been placed on Vault 2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The Llama! (talk) 21:16, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

What happened? I tied to AfD the page. I didn't create it. You can see the AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vault 2. I don't understand! I'm a good Wikipedian, I don't cause vandalism, I try to clean it up! This is obviously a mistake!Cssiitcic (talk) 21:19, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Will this stay on my record? I want to become an admin in April. Will this ruin my chance?Cssiitcic (talk) 21:21, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
What may reduce your chance is that you are nominating lots of pages for deletion without checking each one carefully.[1] To improve your chances of passing RFA, I suggest you slow down and make sure that your speedy nominations are accurate. Quality of edits is more important than quantity. Additionally, I recommend that you make sure you are familiar with the content creation process, that you avoid biting the newcomers, and you avoid creating excessive bureaucracy. Don't be in a rush for adminship. When the time is right, somebody will nominate you. I hope this advice helps. Jehochman Talk 18:29, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice.Cssiitcic (talk) 20:26, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Books

{{helpme}} Hi, is the book feature new, because I haven't seen it before. And if it is, how long has it been here? Thanks.Cssiitcic (talk) 21:48, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello. What book feature are you referring to? Can you provide a link or describe it? Wikipedia is huge and has numerous features related to many things including books. There are thousands of book articles, book notability standards, book citation formatting templates and on and on.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:02, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm talking about the feature located at :Special:Book Cssiitcic (talk) 22:35, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
If you follow the link on that page for Help:Books, it has a prominent display at the top advising of when the testing of the feature began (three days ago) and other information. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 22:44, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

No. I can not as the page was deleted as a attack page. Tiptoety talk 23:17, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Redirects

{{helpme}} Hi, I hate to bother you, but is there a WikiProject dedicated to redirects; because I have made numerous redirect pages. Thanks!Cssiitcic (talk) 20:40, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it is at WP:RE. Killiondude (talk) 20:44, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Beat me to it :-) Also, you can discuss redirects in Wikipedia_talk:Redirect and Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion. Good luck! --  Chzz  ►  20:49, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

sound and fury

Saw your note... I've tagged it {{notable}} and I'm not sure it really deserves an article from what you've said about it so far, but good luck. I renamed it (twice, had 2nd thoughts!), stubsorted it, sortkeyed it, tidied the hatnotes on both articles... Over to you. PamD (talk) 22:24, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for respecting my note.:-) I think it's a good article, but tell me what you think can make it better. Thanks!--Cssiitcic (talk) 17:22, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, you must provide evidence that the composition is based on William Faulkner's novel. Do you know that for sure? That's why I put the {{distinguish2}} tag on it. Thanks.--Cssiitcic (talk) 17:26, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I didn't cite the "based on Faulkner", lazily, as I got that fact from the one external link... will go back and do it. But the "distinguish2" hatnote - it's not really different from the "For ... see..." hatnotes which regularly get removed from X(A) articles, on the basis that no-one wanting X, or X(B), would find themselves at X(A). PamD (talk) 18:23, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
And I don't really follow your logic: my statement gets removed because "you must provide evidence" - where's the cited evidence for anything else in the article? It still doesn't seem at all notable - you haven't told us why this one piece of music for beginners' band is worth an encyclopedia entry, rather than every single piece of music ever composed - but I'll leave it to someone else to speedy it. Rather than removing one interesting fact about the piece, you would do better to demonstrate how it meets the General Notability Guidelines at WP:N (as the Music guidelines at WP:NM don't seem to include the case of compositions). PamD (talk) 18:35, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you!

How nice to know my work is noticed and appreciated by others! Thank you for taking the time to send me a smile - you don't know how much it brightened my day. LiteraryMaven (talkcontrib) 17:36, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you again!

First a smile, now a barnstar! I truly am touched. LiteraryMaven (talkcontrib) 17:30, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

William George Pye

This page was deleted as it was considered a weak subject. It was constructed as there is a red link to William George Pye on the page relating to the large electrical firm of Pye which William George founded to become a household name in the UK. As a local family historian I am slowly trying to tidy and reference up some of the pages linking people and places to my corner of Eastern Essex in the UK. If it is still considered weak I will add a few more details about William and his son Harold to the Pye entry so the information will still be there although it may be more difficult to find. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marsh-uk (talkcontribs) 17:54, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

A Quick Question

{{helpme}} Hi, I just have a quick question: How come schools aren't eligible under section A7 of the CSD, since technically, schools are organizations, and orginizations are eligible under CSD A7. Thanks!--Cssiitcic (talk) 21:12, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

In Wikipedia:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion, A7 actually says "except schools". --  Chzz  ►  21:17, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

I know that, but why aren't schools eligible? Is there a specific purpose for not making them eligible for CSD A7 if they probably qualify for it?Thanks.Cssiitcic (talk) 21:19, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
I've found some of the discussion about how consensus was reached on this here and here.
I'm hoping that reading those might clarify. If I can help more, let me know. Cheers, --  Chzz  ►  21:31, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, o you think I can start a discussion to get that changed?Cssiitcic (talk) 22:21, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
The first link I gave you is still an open debate, so you could maybe contribute your opinion to Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Schools/Criteria_for_Speedy_Deletion_A7. --  Chzz  ►  22:42, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Than you so much for helping me. I'll be sure to check out that discussion.Cssiitcic (talk) 22:50, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar Question

{{helpme}} Hi, I just wanted to know if I could deny a barnstar, because I really don't think I deserved the above. I don't really do alot of work with WikiLinks, and if the other editor wanted to reward me for my CSD work, he could use the Special Barnstar. Also, since the editor just joined recently, I don't thibk he is qualified to hand out barnstars. Thanks.Cssiitcic (talk) 22:49, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Barnstars are entirely voluntary. Perhaps the best thing to do is accept it in the spirit in which it was intended: a thank-you for doing some work. //roux   22:51, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Re. talkback template

Hi,

Just a tip - when you use the talkback template, don't put {{subst:talkback... instead, just use {{talkback}}. The former causes the code of the talkback template to be put in the page, resulting in a bit of a mess, whereas the latter non-transcluded version is easy to comment out with a 'tn'.

Hope that makes sense?

Also, when you use talkback, you should still sign your message.

Cheers! --  Chzz  ►  23:30, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
