FIRST!
I'm back! I hope you're doing fine. I took a little break. I'm glad you liked the Boonen article I wrote on Uncyclopedia! :P I think what I'll do throughout the Tour is updating the different personal articles like I just did with Peter Sagan. What a machine this guy is! Where do you write the résumés? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 17:27, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Great! I guess if a race is important, you have more chance of it having a good grade, since you can add more details? I mean, if I were to write a lengthy gem about the Tour of Zimbabwe (lol), there would be no chance in hell it would receive a good grade I guess? Anyway, Wikipedia is lucky to have you. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 17:42, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer! Just wanted to remind you that Hesjedal finished 10th today if I'm not mistaken... He shows a lot of form... He will not be marked too much... Danger!! Hahaha, since Purrito is not there, do you have a favorite? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 17:55, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
- The incredible victory of Sagan eased my tremendous pain for Hesjedal. :( The Garmin team is having a terrible Tour, plus the doping affair. The soigneurs must be totally overworked. They may as well pull out before somebody dies. :S Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 18:05, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Greipel had a popped shoulder? Can't wait to read your résumé then to get the reference for that! In other news, I added text on Peter Sagan's article (just a bit), retouched it a little so it sounds more encyclopedic (Saganator is a fan, it seems) and flushed the "over-quotation" template a IP slapped on the page. I mean, there's only 3 well-referenced and relevant quotes. What do you think? I'll update the Hesjedal article once it becomes clear what he'll do. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 18:25, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- You're right, there needs to be something about the Tour de Suisse on Sagan's article, it's quite logical, I'll do that in the following days. Thanks for the link about Greipel! The Planche-des Belles Filles will be something tomorrow. Litterally translated, it means "The beautiful girls' plank". Not even kidding! The French have weird names for places and villages. I saw you visited my homeland, Quebec, were you in Quebec City or Montreal? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 20:09, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hey great! I live in Quebec City. It seems Scotland and Quebec have a lot in common, in the sovereignty area! We need a Robert Wallace here! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 21:06, 6 July 2012 (UTC)
- Cool to see you walked the same streets I do! I had one hell of a day with maybe 20 edits!! I'm out to get you! :P Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 00:19, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
- What a win for Pinault, that was awesome! I digged a little bit to see if cyclingarchives is reliable and sometimes, they seem to be missing some results... Case in point Samuel Sanchez 6th place on Liege in 2003. Our article says he was 6th and in the text too, the French wikipedia say he was 6th, cycling archives doesn't say crap, even http://www.samusanchez.com/palmares.htm Sanchez website] doesn't mention it. That is all a bit confusing.... Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 00:26, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- OK, thanks, the link will be very helpful! I added text to the Fuglsang article, he took a great revenge on Radio Shack! And things are looking grim for Armstrong to say the least! Hesjedal gone, my hopes are with Nibali. I don't say I think he has a lot of chances, but I'd like him to. Do you cheer for Wiggins or just think he'll win? I mean, who are you wishing will win? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 00:40, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Interesting, but who do you WISH will win? Also, watching good old videos help edit articles, as I just watched Stage 3 of the 2008 Tirreno-Adriatico and came up with this on the Joaquin Rodriguez article. It's cool to dig back and complete rider's articles, especially considering Googling his name will likely produce the WP article first! I'll certainly do that with Jens Voigt. I certainly would like Froome to win better than Wiggins, everywhere I look Wiggins seems to make a jerk of himself. Or here. Anyway, what an exciting Tour it is, did you see Froome drop Wiggins today? Poor Froome must feel like he has his hands legs tied! That said, you certainly deserve a Tour de France victory, and it looks more than good! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 21:28, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Wow, I am sometimes unlucky with flats, but 3 in a row for Cadel?? unbelievable! Nice class by Sky to wait for him, they actually are going up in my esteem, so does Wiggins. I was disappointed for Sagan, what a climb he did. I'm gonna try to fill the "2012" section on Cadel Evans a little, there is nothing there! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 01:17, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

- Hello! I was just wondering what to do with references that are tagged as "dead link", such as the one on the Javier Otxoa article. Delete them altogether? Or do they kinda prove info was supported by something at one time? Also, I don't quite get the difference between the Bouygues Telekom teams from one year apart, but that's not too important at all. Nice start of an article by the way! And that was an exciting Olympic race! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 04:16, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- What do you mean, Uran faked? I read a French journalist who said the race was bought Are you implying that too? :O Can you read French? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 11:31, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, OK. The guy in the article I linked you to thinks Vino concluded a monetary pact with Uran while flying for the finish line at 35 miles an hour with a raging bunch behind, since they can be seen "talking to one another" and "Uran's mistake was too blatant". This is ridiculous, he must believe that Earth will be attacked by aliens soon too. :D Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 18:05, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

WPF1 Newsletter
Just to let you know that there will most likely be a delay with this month's newsletter. MessageDeliveryBot is down; I have made a request to access User:EdwardsBot, but I will probably have to wait for a while before permission is granted. Almost all of the other bots in the category for newsletter-delivering bots are defunct and/or inactive, including our old friend ChzzBot...--Midgrid(talk) 20:02, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
- If we switch to EdwardsBot, we will need to create a new page with the raw user names on it (like my reference page but without the other stuff}, and perhaps look at deleting the long-term inactive people from the recipients' list, as I'm not sure if this bot has a filter like MDB.--Midgrid(talk) 20:04, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – List of Formula One circuits, currently listed for Peer Review
The first Grand Prix was held in 1950 at Silverstone; since then 68 circuits have hosted a Grand Prix. Circuits such as the Nürburgring have hosted Grands Prix using different configurations. The first race at the circuit used the 22 kilometres (14 mi) circuit, but concerns over safety meant that more recent Grands Prix have used a shorter, safer circuit. F1 circuits were predominately in Europe during the early years of the championship, as the sport has expanded so has the location of its circuits. New circuits have been used in Asia and America, the change has been a recent occurrence. Of the 20 circuits that will host a Grand Prix in 2012, nearly half were not on the calendar before 1999. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza has hosted the most Grands Prix; it has been used as the circuit for the Italian Grand Prix 61 times. The only season it did not host a race was in 1980, when the Italian Grand Prix was held at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari. The most recent circuit to have hosted a Grand Prix was the Buddh International Circuit, which hosted the Indian Grand Prix in 2011. The Circuit of the Americas is set to become the latest different circuit to host a Grand Prix; when the United States Grand Prix is staged there in 2012, at Austin, Texas. The Pescara Circuit is the longest circuit to have hosted a Grand Prix. The 25.800 km (16.031 mi) long circuit normally held the Coppa Acerbo race, it hosted one World Championship race, the 1957 Pescara Grand Prix. As some circuits have hosted Grands Prix using different configurations, the most recent configuration used is listed in the table below. Quick Lookover Again Maybe?
Hey CS,
I hate to be a bother, but I was wondering if you could look over the 1987 Giro d'Italia page like you did the 1988 page for me? You don't have to if you don't want to though, no pressure. ThurstAsh13 (Malk + Montributions) 23:50, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- All right dude, whenever's fine. Thanks again. ThurstAsh13 (Malk + Montributions) 17:58, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

- Okay I see, I was like I'm pretty sure I didn't type in another language in the article. GOOOD CATCH! I did not notice that haha. ThurstAsh13 (Malk + Montributions) 00:30, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – 1998 Pepsi 400, a new Good Article
The 1998 Pepsi 400 was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series stock car race held on October 17, 1998 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Originally scheduled to be held on the Fourth of July, the race was postponed until the fall due to widespread wildfires in central Florida; it was the first superspeedway race to be held at night. Contested over 160 laps, it was the thirtieth race of the 1998 season. Jeff Gordon of Hendrick Motorsports took his eleventh win of the season, while Bobby Labonte finished second and Mike Skinner finished third. Gordon retained his point lead on the way to his third Winston Cup championship title. Date formatting
There are different date formats used in different countries. Rather than choosing exclusively to adopt the formatting used in a particular country, the Manual of Style has a method for choosing between the variations. The basic rule is to retain the original formatting unless the topic has strong ties to a particular Anglophone country. It's similar to the national varieties of English policy. Since Poland and China aren't Anglophone countries, I've reverted the date formatting in the bio articles for the 10m air rifle medalists to the original formatting. --JamesAM (talk) 13:54, 28 July 2012 (UTC)
Leopard season article under review
Ehh....sort of. It's been at that very "young" stage in its development for three days now, but at the least it should mean the review is coming. I'll keep an eye on it, since the Olympics have drawn me back for the next couple of weeks. Just letting you know in case you wish to as well. Reptilians are going to rule the world, Elizabeth 2 eats babies for dinner, piranhas are a creation of the Illuminati. It's all good! BTW, I started a stub recently among many other edits. (I edit not for the love of cycling, only to eventually have more edits than you in 2097) It's David Boily, if I made a mistake or forgot something please correct it! It went a lot faster and smoother than the first article I created though. Can we upload pics from cyclingarchives? Uploading pics here seems to be very complicated in regards to copyrights... Article of the month – 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix, failed Today's Featured Article candidate
The 2008 Hungarian Grand Prix (formally the Formula 1 ING Magyar Nagydíj 2008) was a Formula One motor race held on August 3, 2008, at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, near Budapest, Hungary. It was the 11th race of the 2008 Formula One season. Contested over 70 laps, the race was won by Heikki Kovalainen for the McLaren team, from a second position start. Timo Glock finished second in a Toyota car, with Kimi Räikkönen third in a Ferrari. It was Kovalainen's first Formula One victory, which made him the sport's 100th driver to win a World Championship race, and it was Glock's first podium finish. The majority of the race consisted of a duel between Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, who drove for McLaren and Ferrari, respectively. Hamilton started from pole position but was beaten at the first corner by Massa, who passed him around the outside. The two championship rivals began a battle for the lead that was resolved when Hamilton sustained a punctured tyre just over halfway through the race, giving Massa a lead of more than 20 seconds over Kovalainen. The Ferrari's engine, however, failed with three laps remaining, allowing the McLaren driver to win. Räikkönen set the race's fastest lap in the other Ferrari, but was hampered by a poor qualifying performance and was stuck behind Fernando Alonso (Renault) and Glock in turn for almost all of the race. As a consequence of the race, Hamilton extended his lead in the World Drivers' Championship to five points over Räikkönen, with Massa a further three behind. Robert Kubica, who finished eighth after finding his BMW Sauber car uncompetitive at the Hungaroring, slipped to 13 points behind Hamilton, ahead of teammate Nick Heidfeld and Kovalainen. In the World Constructors' Championship, McLaren passed BMW Sauber for second position, 11 points behind Ferrari. Okay, I mean it this time
I'm out and gone for the foreseeable future. It's unlikely I'll return to Wikipedia at any time the remainder of this calendar year, and probably longer if I had to guess (how long till the next Giro...) Keep doing what you're doing, Craig. You have my respect and admiration.

This barnstar
Is well deserved. I need your opinion there. I think we should keep results that are in the top 10 for stage races, and scrap the rest. I'm all for keeping any top 20 rankings for the Great Tours though, but not adding them. Case in point Daniel Moreno. 12th in the Vuelta a Burgos needs to go in my opinion. What do you think? Also, they added the bottle thing to the article you linked me to (In the paragraph starting with "Former French champion Sylvain Chavanel...") And I had a barnstar too!!! She likes me too!!! - Just created the 2012 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, I'll add some stuff later on. So, who's your big bet for the Vuelta? I bet for Froome with one of my buddies, but he thought it was unfair so he could take 2, and he chose Rodriguez and Contador! Ad you? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 00:19, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- You may be right, Contador is the big question mark in my mind, that only makes the race more intriguing. Plus all the uphill finishes! Will you write the Vuelta? I'll do as always: update riders' articles with recent news and old stuff I come across. I've started liking editing here so much that I resigned as the UnNews editor on Uncyclopedia and don't edit there much at all. I guess I became serious! Mattaidepikiw (Talk)
- Oh great, did you find work in your field? As for me, I have plenty of time at work to edit. Just created the 2012 Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. And I don't think I'll ever be "mature", in fact I am older than you! :P Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 01:24, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have an idea, what do you think if instead of writing the palmares like this:

- Tour de Bretagne
- 1st Stage 4
- 1st Stage 5
- 1st Stage 7
- 1st Stage 34
We'd do it like this:
- Tour de Bretagne
- 1st Stage 4, 5, 7 and 34
That's still pretty clear and would cut down on the lengthy palmares. Waddya think? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 19:00, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK I'm gonna tweak them that way when I happen to edit theses articles for something else. Nice win by Big John Degenkolb, he's about the only rider that isn't as slim as a pole! BTW, I stumbled upon a video from last year Vuelta. A very wild attack! :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:19, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, just wanted to say I caught 2 transfers in the news, and I wanted to help you so I included them here: User:Green-eyed girl/2012-2013 rider transfers They are Domenico Pozzovivo going to Decathlon–AG2R La Mondiale from Colnago and Juan Antonio Flecha going from Team Sky to Vacansoleil-DCM. I included refs, I didn't want to create sections that didn't exist yet since I'm unfamiliar with the page, but please tell me if that helped. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 05:04, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- Did you know that Rodriguez lost the 3rd stage because he stopped his effort since he was certain (in his mind) to win? That's what the Quebec commentators said and they were reading quotes from Rodriguez admitting he messed up, but I just can't find a link to it... I'm in the middle of a big edit to his article, but if I can't find it, I won't put it. How do you get that damn "ñ" as in Vuelta a España? I just copy and paste it now, I know it's the "#" key, but what is the combo? And I thought I'd die today, I was going down a steep slope with a right bend at full speed which is closed to circulation except city affairs. Went there dozens of times without seeing any traffic. But a truck was coming up that steep bend, I was going so fast that even though my brakes were fully engaged, I had to chose: the truck or the ditch. I chose the ditch. Incredibly, I only have 5 stitches on my right elbow and an impressive amount of rash on the right arm. The driver couldn't believe I had nothing broken and me neither. I know I could be lying and invent anything over the net but I assure you I'm not. It was an emotional day to say the least, it's good to be alive. Always be careful, man: health is precious and fragile :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:26, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- Man, this Vuelta is getting absolutely fabulous! Did you see stage 8? Awesome! The Armstrong "bombshell" makes me laugh. I read a lot about him, there is no way he was clean (and sadly, the vast majority of pro athletes are doping in my opinion, which I forged by reading about the topic a great deal) I hope you're doing well, gonna edit a little tonight, good job with the Vuelta writings! Article of the month – 2010 Carfax 400, a Good Article
The 2010 Carfax 400 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race that was held on August 15, 2010 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. Contested over 200 laps, it was the twenty-third race of the 2010 Sprint Cup Series season. The race was won by Kevin Harvick for the Richard Childress Racing team. Denny Hamlin finished second, and Carl Edwards, who started twenty-fourth, clinched third. Pole position driver Kasey Kahne maintained his lead into the first corner to begin the race, but Jimmie Johnson, who started in the second position on the grid, took the lead before the first lap was over. Afterward, Greg Biffle became the leader, and would eventually lead to the race high of 66 laps. Tony Stewart led after the final pit stops, ahead of Hamlin and Harvick. Harvick helped Hamlin to become the leader, but with twelve laps left, Harvick gained on Hamlin and claimed the first position with eleven lap remaining. Harvick maintained his position to claim his first Sprint Cup victory at Michigan International Speedway. There were five cautions and nineteen lead changes among nine different drivers throughout the course of the race, Harvick's third win of the season. The result maintained the first position in the Drivers' Championship and clinched him a position in the Chase. He remained 293 points ahead of second place driver Jeff Gordon and 353 ahead of Denny Hamlin. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty points ahead of Toyota and sixty-one ahead of Ford, with thirteen races remaining in the season. A total of 105,000 people attended the race, while 4.917 million watched it on television. I got to say it is pretty satisfying to work with you as a team, although I realise I don't do as much as you, but as you can see from my latest contributions, I'm doing a different job by focusing on personal articles. I realize that if you weren't here, cycling articles would be horrible. I encourage you to continue in this vein, and I will too unless my motivation goes down. - Grammar: Do we write "a five second advantage" or "a five seconds advantage"? Great Vuelta finish today btw. Rodriguez looks very strong, can't wait for the high mountains :) Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:16, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – List of Formula One fatal accidents, current Featured List candidate
Formula One (F1) is the highest class of open-wheeled auto racing defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body. The "formula" in the name refers to a set of rules to which all participants and vehicles must conform. The F1 World Championship season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held usually on purpose-built circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets. The results of each race are combined to determine two annual Championships, one for drivers and one for constructors. Safety standards have improved since the first World Championship Grand Prix at Silverstone in 1950, where there was no medical back-up or safety measures, in case of an accident. It was not until the 1960s these were first introduced, as helmets and overalls became mandatory and the FIA assumed responsibility for safety at the circuits. Steps were taken to improve the safety of the Formula One car in the 1970s; the cockpit opening was enlarged allowing the driver to escape quicker in the event of an accident and outside mirrors became mandatory. The 1980s saw further improvement in the structure of the Formula One car, with the monocoque being made out of carbon fibre instead of aluminium, increasing protection upon impact. Following the death of Ayrton Senna in 1994, a number of measures were introduced in an attempt to slow the cars down, including the prohibition of traction control systems. Grooved tyres were introduced in 1998 instead of racing slick tyres to reduce cornering speed. Safety measures continued to be introduced into the 21st century, with a number of circuits having their configuration changed to improve driver safety. This list includes drivers who have died during a FIA World Championship race weekend, and those who have died while driving a Formula One car outside of the World Championship. Track marshals and other race attendees who have died as a result of these accidents are not included in the list. Forty-nine drivers have died driving a Formula One car, with Cameron Earl being the first in 1952. Thirty-two of the drivers died during a World Championship Grand Prix race weekend, six during a test session and eleven during a non-championship Formula One event. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has seen the most fatalities; seven drivers have died there during the course of the Indianapolis 500. Fifteen drivers died in the 1950s; fourteen in the 1960s; twelve in the 1970s; four in the 1980s and two in the 1990s. No driver has suffered a fatal accident since 1994,[A] making this the longest period in F1 history without a driver fatality. Only two Formula One Champions have died while racing or practicing in Formula One, Jochen Rindt in 1970, and Ayrton Senna in 1994. Rindt is the only driver to win the championship posthumously. Hey!
The smiley is a change from a Barnstar lol. It's from the heart. I enjoy reading your résumés of the Vuelta stages, as well as all the palmares updating. Truly, I am discovering Purrito in this race, I didn't know he was such a funny and good guy. I hope he wins, he certainly deserves a Grand Tour win. Am I right when I say this was the first arrival at the Cuitu Negru? Also, do you have a synonym for "stage"? I have the feeling I repeat that word over and over and over and no online synonym dictionary are helping. I hope you're fine, I try to contribute with one or two "big" edits a day on riders' articles. I will cover the Quebec and Montreal races, if that's fine with you. But of course, I'd be grateful if you could proofread it and add anything I might have missed. I'll be seeing the riders in Quebec and Sagan is coming, that's gonna be awesome! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 03:05, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
- Oh my God, just saw the stage! :O Incredible... Poor Purrito. I'll certainly add to the Alberto Contador article in the following days, its 2012 section is rather empty. Do you have races in Scotland? Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 02:48, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Nice, there are a lot of big names in the Tour of Britain. I've expanded the Contador article a bit. The riders in Quebec have arrived and they are lodged at the Chateau Frontenac. I'll add that to the article if I can find a ref. I asked for Tyler Hamilton's book for my birthday (12 October). At my age, you're lucky if you get a pair of socks :P Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 03:31, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, I realized you never give me news, I'm always the one to write :( Oh well, what a heartbreak for Purrito, I read your post about the last stage, how unlucky is that guy? He says that if he has to go to Pekin to get the UCI title he'll do it if it doesn't work out at the Giro di Lombardia. What a fighter. I also stumbled on an amazing video that is resuming the Giro in 15 minutes, I'm sure you'll like. Cheers! Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 03:30, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
- That's alright! I just caught the final kilometers of the Tour of Britain's stage 5 on Youtube, I wanted to see it after reading your résumé. Nice win for De Maar, especially considering he scraped himself up from the asphalt! It's always cool to see a lesser known guy take a big one. I've updated his article with it and cleaned up the palmarès, I've noticed recently that you put the results in ascending order, so I did that while I was at it. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 09:04, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Just saw it. Great racing, König didn't make a friend there though lol. I created the Boy Van Poppel article today, I think it was the right timing! It is very promising for the 2 last stages, I didn't know there were big climbs in Britain. By the way, do you know the name of Boy Van Poppel's sister? It's Girl Van Poppel :P Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 21:51, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- I don't know how to change the team template, but Liquigas will not be named Brixia after all. Mattaidepikiw (Talk) 14:19, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

Volleyball
Greetings, as you see in my talk and Intoronto1125's, we are not agree about having just one article for Volleyball and Beach volleyball. There are interwiki, a template and just adding beach volleyball content under volleyball make it larger and difficult to read. His argument is make it like Olympics, and may be valid in certain way, but there should be another intermediate solution, making a template that links both articles volleyball and beach volleyball in every pan american game, just like Olympics do. I would like to hear from you, thanks. Osplace 01:20, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Article of the month – 2010 Sylvania 300
The 2010 Sylvania 300 was a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car race held on September 19, 2010, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire. The 300 lap race was the twenty-seventh in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as well as the first race in the ten-race Chase for the Sprint Cup, which ends the season. Clint Bowyer, of the Richard Childress Racing team, won the race, with Denny Hamlin finishing second, and Jamie McMurray third. Pole position driver Brad Keselowski maintained his lead in the first lap, but in the second lap Tony Stewart pulled ahead. Chase for the Sprint Cup participants Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, and Hamlin were in the top ten for most of the race, but in the closing laps all of them suffered spins or other problems. Hamlin was the only one to recover and finish in the top five. With two laps remaining, Tony Stewart was leading the race when he ran out of fuel, giving the lead to Bowyer, who also led the most laps in the race with 176. There were eight cautions and twenty-three lead changes among eight different drivers during the race. The race was Clint Bowyer's first win in the 2010 season, and the third of his career. The result advanced Bowyer to second in the Drivers' Championship, thirty-five points behind Hamlin and ten ahead of Kevin Harvick, but because of a penalty three days after the race, he fell to twelfth in the standings. Chevrolet maintained its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, thirty-two points ahead of Toyota and seventy-four ahead of Ford, with nine races remaining in the season. A total of 95,000 people attended the race, while 3.68 million watched it on television.
