Radiation therapy

Hello, nice edits to Radiation therapy. However, I've removed the URL you added because that field should only be used for URLs that give the free full text of the particular journal article. There are two ways to easily add journal citations to Wikipedia. One is by activating citation expander in the gadgets section of your preferences; you can then just type {{cite journal|doi=<doi>}} (or you can use the PMID as a placeholder), click on "Expand citations and the bot will do the rest of the work for you. Another way to semi-automatically add citations is to use Template Filler; just type in the PMID and it will do the rest of the work, but you will need to add the DOI manually

I've removed the text that you added to your talk page, because a talk page is exclusively for communicating with other users. It fits fine on your user page, where you've already added it. Consider joining WikiProject Medicine (which I linked above this message), and feel free to ask any questions you have about medical articles about the project's talk page. Accessdates

Hi again, just one small thing: when citing a regular website (i.e. not a medical journal article), like you did at Radiosensitizer, you should add an accessdate with the parameter "|accessdate=<date>". I've done it for you there, but if you're more used to the date format "September 18, 2012", feel free to change it, since you added the text in the first place; see Wikipedia's guideline about date formats. I also removed the word "currently" from the text you added because it's redundant.

Thank you for introducing me to the song "Crystal Blue Persuasion" from your username. It's beautiful. It's certainly a world away from "Hanky Panky", in both sound an subject matter! Graham87 15:39, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work! I've edited it a bit. Here are a few tips, which I've implemented on your new article:
  1. Remember to add links to relevant Wikipedia articles – this is called wikification.
  2. When using a reference more than once, use named references rather than copying and pasting the entire footnote.
  3. We don't use PII's at all on Wikipedia – in fact I'd never heard of them until today, and I can't find any citation templates that support them. We normally use a combination of DOIs, PMIDs, PMCs and ISBNs when available. I've added ISBNs to the book sources – hopefully the correct ones – and used Citation bot to add the other identifiers.
  4. I've added categories to the article. I would normally advise looking for similar established pages and taking the category structure from them, but in this case, I can't find any other pages that are similar in scope to your new article. Therefore I've added some fairly broad categories; I hope they're alright.
Also, when you're replying to messages (like you did on my talk page), indent and add a new signature at the end of the comment. Graham87 03:08, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The image that you uploaded

I also noticed that you uploaded File:Skeletal formula of trans sodium crocetinate.jpg. Stefan2 has added a number of tags to the image, and it would probably be better to ask him for more info about them; as it says on my user page, I'm totally blind, and don't know much about the mechanics of images! However I do have some experience with image permissions, and here's what I'd suggest you do regarding that:

  • Re-upload the image to Wikimedia Commons. This is a repository of free images for all language versions of Wikipedia and all its sister projects (Wikibooks, Wikiversity, etc). Add the text {{OTRS pending}} to the image description page if you haven't already done so (see below).
  • You need a confirmation email from John L. Gainer explicitly saying that he's happy for the image to be licensed into the public domain. Once you have it, forward it on to the Wikimedia permissions tracking system at permissions-commons@wikimedia.org.

I've moved the PNG image you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, deleted the copies of the image that you uploaded to this site (because they're now redundant), and used the specific tag for public domain chemical formulae – I didn't know that existed! It would be better to upload images to Commons directly in future, so they can be used on all Wikimedia projects. You should be able to log in there with the same username and password that you use here.

Re: your new article Trans sodium crocetinate, I've tweaked it a bit and added it to Category:Drugs acting on the blood and blood forming organs. You might want to swing through the category tree at Category:Drugs and see if any other categories apply – you can add them to the article by typing [[Category:<categoryname>]] at the bottom of the article. I hardly know anything at all about this subject – the Radiation therapy article is only on my watchlist to protect it from vandalism.

P.S. See my tweak of your edit to Hydrogen bond. Before your edit, there were two adjacent sentences supported by a reference; since you added your statement between those two sentences, it made it seem as though Laidig (1998) was the reference for the sentence "The exact number of hydrogen bonds formed by a molecule of liquid water fluctuates ...". I've modified it to indicate that Jorgensen (1985) was the original reference for that sentence. Graham87 11:24, 27 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bios of founders of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals

Hello, nice work on the bios of the founders of Diffusion Pharmaceuticals. However, I can understand the concerns of the editor who added a notability tag to David Kalergis' article. It needs some sources that are more independent of the subject – for example a newspaper/magazine article that profiles Mr. Kalergis. I've also removed the external link to the company website from both articles; because links should be directly related to the subject of the article (point 13), so the company's website should only be in the external links section of an article about the company. I just wanted to say it was an absolute pleasure to read your response on the talk page. I realise that all the slamming of maintenance tags and deletion requests and things on new articles can be disorienting and off-putting, and in my short time here I've known a lot of users get very nasty when they think their work is threatened. Hello, Loksmythe. Thanks for your input and expertise. I seek your guidance here. The subject is a renowned author with numerous published books and exhibits. One problem is that many of these were completed some years ago, and not many citations are available on the Web now. I think I can get access to quite a few press clippings from several decades ago but am not sure how to use them. Might they be useful in some way?
