[edit]Thanks for your work here. I've been dealing with fake archaeology for decades and now that I'm dying am concentrating on it. I also belong to the FB group Fraudulent Archaeology Wall of Shame. But I think you change to "archaeologists" digging isn't quite accurate as a lot of those would have been enthusiasts. When you have 500 edits you can join the fantastic WP:Wikipedia Library (ordinary edits, not rush to get them edits).[1] Doug Weller talk 10:02, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller Good point about the word choice for archaeologist. I have an interest in weird things people have done to prove they're right or someone else is wrong. I live in the Ohio Valley area, so I'm doubly fascinated by Mound Cultures. Creedweber (talk) 00:31, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
- I have Internet friends involved with them. Also see my article Archaeology and racism which discusses the "Mound builders". I'm writing something about them for my article Archaeology and nationalism when I get the chance as there was a lot of American nationalism involved in arguing they weren't built by Native Americans, etc. Sorry about the redlink to The Wikipedia Library, I'd forgotten the "The" but created what we call a redirect so that anyone else forgetting it will still end up at the right place.Doug Weller talk 06:52, 13 April 2023 (UTC)
