RFA thankspam
Thank you for your support at my recent successful RFA. It meant more to me than just one vote. Being now the new fellow in the fraternity of administrators, I will do my best to live up to the confidence shown in me by others, will move slowly and carefully when using the mop, will seek input from others before any action of which I might be unsure, and will try not to break anything beyond repair. Best, Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:36, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
- Have fun, MQS; you've earned this. Courcelles 15:39, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

dear c,
you archived the latest iamtrhino-sockpuppet case to a page that redirects to somewhere else, [1]. hence, the case disappears when you access the page, [2].-- mustihussain 07:36, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation page for "Don't Let It Go to Your Head"
Hi. I see a previous version of this page was deleted (by you?) back in July but I thought I'd suggest restoring a (new and improved?) version based on my experience today...
Today I was searching Wikipedia to see if the 1950s song recorded by Nat King Cole, "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," had its own Wikipedia article when I discovered 2 articles about 2 other songs of the same name and one of those song articles references a third song of the same title in a hatnote. Given the fact that I immediately found 3 Wikipedia references to 3 different songs - all of the same title but none of them the Nat King Cole song I was actually looking for - I thought a disambiguation page might be called for.
I don't know what the original (deleted-in-July) disambiguation page looked like, but I'd suggest something like the following:
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head" may refer to:
-
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," 1950s song recorded by Nat King Cole — written by Henry Hadamik, Frank LaVere and Bob Nast
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," 1970s song recorded by Jean Carne — written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," 1990s Hip Hop version of the Gamble / Huff song written and recorded by Brand Nubian (William Maxwell Dixon, Lorenzo Dechalus, Derek Murphy)
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head" (Chantay Savage song), c. 1994 song recorded by Chantay Savage — written by Steve Hurley, Marc Williams, Jamie Principle and Chantay Savage
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head," c. 2005 song recorded by Fefe Dobson — written by Josh Alexander, Billy Steinberg and Fefe Dobson
I would then add a hatnote to the existing article, Don't Let It Go to Your Head, 'pointing' to this new disambiguation page (e.g. "for other songs of the same name, see Don't Let It Go to Your Head (disambiguation)").
I don't have a lot of experience with disambiguation pages but based on the text at WP:disambiguation, "Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might search, there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead" it seems like there is some justification for a "Don't Let It Go to Your Head (disambiguation)" page. Thanks for any advice / suggestions you might have. Best regards, Pugetbill (talk) 07:43, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- The old dab page contained :
Don't Let It Go to Your Head can refer to:
In music:
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head", a 2005 single by Fefe Dobson from Sunday Love
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head", a 2006 cover version single by Lilyjets from 3rd Floor
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head", a 2009 cover version by Jordin Sparks from Battlefield released as a single in 2010.
- "Don't Let It Go to Your Head", a 1998 hip-hop song by New York group Brand Nubian from Foundation
Given there are apparently other songs with this title, I think you'd be fine creating this disambig page, as it would not be the same as the one deleted by AFD in July. Courcelles 15:51, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks - will do. Pugetbill (talk) 16:33, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
Sorry . . . I don't understand.
Where did File:Lebec-Frazier-Park-Census-Map.gif go? Yours in confusion, GeorgeLouis (talk) 08:24, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Fastily deleted it under CSD F4, because the image did not indicate its source clearly enough to verify the copyright tag. Is there a link to where the image was online? I'm sure if you can tell him where the image came from, he will restore it for you. Courcelles 15:40, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks very much. I will talk with him. GeorgeLouis (talk) 17:23, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Rev Delete Inquiry
Hi Courcelles. I came across your name at "Admins willing to handle rev delete requests". I figured since you and I have interacted before, you would be the most logical choice to contact. This may be much ado about nothing, but I have a concern about Jimmy Roselli. A substantial number of earlier versions of that article were rev deleted, I presume for copyvio reasons. I reverted a recent major change to the page. Something tells me the text that was returned was the same text that caused the original copyvio problem. I could certainly be wrong, but if you have a chance to check it out, I would appreciate it. Regards. Joefromrandb (talk) 19:52, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, that's a copyvio. RD1'ed. Courcelles 20:03, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Blocked Open Proxy User
We have a user who is requesting an unblock for an IP range you have blocked. Can you have a look at it and see if there is merit to the request? --WGFinley (talk) 23:37, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Unblocking this range strikes me as a very bad idea. I don't think this user is related to the banned user who was abusing the proxies in this /17, however. Courcelles 00:00, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Have any suggestions to help the user out or are they stuck? --WGFinley (talk) 00:03, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Was about to ask about this. Would you, as blocking admin, think that WP:IPBE would be a good idea? --Jayron32 00:06, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- I think we have to do a check user request to do IPBE first Jayron, you want to handle or shall I? Or do you found Courcelles? --WGFinley (talk) 00:09, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- I don't believe that a checkuser request is necessary, I've given IPBE before without it. Courcelles has just said that this user is unrelated to any of the disruption on that range. I was just waiting for Courcelles to give his blessing. --Jayron32 00:15, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, go right ahead. (PS, I have done the checkuser work. But everything before this unblock request is Stale, so we have to go on a lot of good faith and an apparent Unrelated finding. Worth monitoring. Courcelles 00:22, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

File:St.Mary&Joseph.jpg
Hi, I did add copyright information regarding the file but excuse me it's my first time to use non-free materials so if anything is not right or incomplete let me know WikiMichel (talk) 06:40, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
- Looks better. I'm not sure we should be using a non-free image for this purpose, but the immediate problem (that we had no indication of where the file came from) is now solved. Courcelles 19:30, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

65.189.246.48 (talk · contribs · block log) - A checkuserblock unblock request for your attention. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:49, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure why Tiptoety reblocked as a proxy here, I don't remember seeing on either. What I did remember (and rechecked just now to verify, though some has gone stale in the interim) was a string of well over a dozen abusive accounts being created on this IP over a period of months. Userfy "Host Proof Storage" page
Do you mind to userfy me the page? Thanks --MMpop (talk) 20:01, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Hey there Courcelles, long time no speak, hope your keeping well. Anyways, can you just look over this, User talk:88.111.30.9. The account seems to be continuously vandalising and may need blocked, Many Thanks Dontforgetthisone (talk) 00:31, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I blocked them for a few days. Just for future reference, you'll normally get a faster response at WP:AIV, at least when I'm not obsessively checking my wathclist! ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:50, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
Just a note
Wanted to draw your attention to what may be an issue involving 2.97.75.97. I'm hoping it won't be, but since you've protected the page before, thought I'd let you know. Thanks. -- James26 (talk) 00:17, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Unblock request
The user Tanmatra5 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · edit filter log · block user · block log) that you blocked on December 9 is requesting unblock and giving an undertaking not to abuse multiple accounts. I think you should be the one to make the decision as you know the background to the block in question. I've informed them that I have notified you. --GraemeL (talk) 16:13, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- I almost made this a
{{checkuserblock-account}}
because the socking was so severe. Given the things he did (votestacking an AFD among them), the timeline of the accounts creation and use, and the singular topic-focus of all the socks, his claims all ring incredibly hollow. Courcelles 16:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)- Fair enough, that's why I asked as it's impossible to tell on these without knowing the background. I'll update the template to reject the request. --GraemeL (talk) 16:29, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
A Puppy for you
For all your hard work on adding SHORT DESCRIPTION parameters to articles, I was wandering who else was clearing some of these. Only another 680,000 articles to go!
Waacstats (talk) 19:40, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! Yeah, this backlog feels almost unclearable, but there's a couple of us working on it as we have time. Courcelles 19:49, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
Packers page
I would like to add some pictures to the Green Bay Packers page and move certain ones to better places.
- The 1920s photo is in the wrong place.
- there are NO pictures of Vince Lombardi in the 1960s section (or Starr, or Nitscke, or Jerry Kramer, or, or, or) I would like to add a couple that will really help this page, anything before Favre on the page is scant in pictures and information. The Packers are nothing without the history of 1960s Green Bay players.
Jcooper1 (talk) 20:52, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- As a football fan I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on Green Bay's history being important. My question is though, I've never contributed to that page... so if you've got the free images, I"d say just go do it. What do you need from me? Courcelles 20:57, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Wozniacki
I'll ask you the same question I asked Ponyo - where's the link to Wozniacki's Twitter feed on her page? I see a copy of her latest tweet, but no link to the feed itself. Thanks in advance. Townlake (talk) 02:53, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
- Absent a response from you to my query, I've readded the Twitter link and started a topic on the article's talk page in case this merits further discussion. Townlake (talk) 20:47, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- Ponyo already explained to you why you were wrong, and nothing she said can really be added to. More over, you responded to her in one of the single most condescending posts I've ever seen on Wikipedia, and feel no real need to respond to such hostile commentary. Hi Courcelles Hope you're well. Since you're usually one of the few admins who regularly clear out Category:Non-free images with orphaned versions more than 7 days old, I thought I'd let you know that I've written a bot to automatically remove {{Orphaned non-free revisions}}
from files that no longer have orphaned revisions. This means that you can use scripts such as User:Drilnoth/delresized.js to delete old revisions without leaving a mess behind. I could really use your help in clearing that backlog out. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 23:40, 15 December 2011 (UTC)
