Hello, Courcelles- Just wanted to let you know that I restored an expired PROD you deleted because of a request at request for undeletion. The nominator was an IP address that I am pretty sure is dynamic and probably not the same person anymore, so take a look at the page and feel free to take it to afd if that is your wont. Venus (band) article
Hi, I created the Venus (band) article for Wikipedia and now it links to a band from Brazil instead of the one from Belgium. I also noticed that the image I used with permission for the page is gone. Why was the article deleted?
- Nakon (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) deleted the original article as a WP:PROD. You'll have to talk to him. Courcelles 20:51, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
You deleted the above image on September 13 after it was nominated for deleted here as an orphaned file. An article has since been created at Brodus Clay, and I would very much like to use this image to illustrate it. As a result, I was hoping you would undelete it. Thanks, NiciVampireHeart 20:41, 5 February 2011 (UTC)
- Restored. If it's not the image you need, please do let me know. Courcelles 20:48, 5 February 2011 (UTC)

Thank you!
Hi Courcelles, I'd like to thank you here on your talk page for being a kind person and a great administrator. Most administrators would have done what I asked them to do, but you went one step farther and offered to help me in the matter I did not even thought about myself. You are really performing your administrative duties above and beyond! Best wishes.--Mbz1 (talk) 01:48, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. If you ever need any help, my door is open. Courcelles 03:14, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
You deleted this for being orphaned. Not sure how it's orphaned. Can you explain or restore? --MZMcBride (talk) 02:45, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello Courcelles. I notice that you issued the NLT block of this editor, which is still in place. On his talk page, ZP5 is now making a proposal for some kind of interaction ban with Brangifer, which doesn't look very sensible. He should just start following our policies. There is a question of what to do about the AE report. The subpages that were objected to have now been deleted. Are you comfortable with following up on this case and ensuring that any unblock has conditions (or an understanding) that would address what was complained about at AE? If so, the AE might be closed. If you prefer not to take on this mission, I suspect that the AE itself should be closed with an indefinite block, with some instructions as to unblocking conditions. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 17:50, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- I really don't know what to do here. We still haven't had a real, formal unblock request, which is something we need to see from him before going forward. If someone sees a case for sanctions, they should enact them. If not, AE is not the forum for an NLT unblock to be considered, and that can't even happen until he formally requests review... Courcelles 22:14, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- T. Canens has suggested at AE that the enforcement request be closed, but that it be reopened if more problems occur. How does that sound? Another option is a three-month AE block. Either option is justifiable, since we have no reason for any optimism. EdJohnston (talk) 22:31, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- Closing ti down works for me, if for nothing else than WP:ROPE, either sanctions will prove unnecessary, or the case for them will be clearer. Courcelles 22:49, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

Panspermia
Dear Courcelles -- I glean that you are powerful within Wikipedia. Can you refer me (and Ian.thomson) to an arbitrator? At the moment I am proposing an excellent link, but I am affiliated with it. However, the link is not being even looked at, much less considered on its merits. Does actual content figure into the the decision? If not, what's Wikipedia for? Any response will be welcome. BrigKlyce (talk) 22:37, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
See ANI. Chzz ► 22:40, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- BrigKlyce, what part of "It doesn't meet the sourcing guidelines" don't you get? Ian.thomson (talk) 22:42, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- "Glean"? HalfShadow 00:19, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- FTR, I advised BrigKlyce that the proper forum to determine the appropriateness of the link is the External links/Noticeboard [1] but the advice was ignored. In his defense, he is new and a lot has been thrown at him, but if he wants an external link vetted, we have a process.--SPhilbrickT 01:04, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
"Waterman butterfly projection"
You deleted this page in a very sudden fashion, with no notification to its authors; and on three grounds, all of which are erroneous: "The article describes work that has never been published, cannot be verified, and seems to be a work in progress—more a concept than a fully developed method."
1) "never been published": The map was published in 1996, as stated in the first sentence of the article. It has been and still is distributed by the map publisher and retailer ODT. Waterman himself continues to sell updated versions to this day.
2) "cannot be verified": have you Googled the Waterman butterfly map? Are you aware that its mathematical foundations were worked on by Carlos Furuti, a prominent Brazilian publisher of online projections? Or that the famed cartographer Waldo Tobler said ""The analysis is particularly impressive and well done."?
3) "seems to be a work in progress—more a concept than a fully developed method": Wrong: I personally have bought several published versions of these maps, -- postcard size, two different versions of the large wall-map size, and even a magnetic version now affixed to my file cabinet -- from both ODT, and Waterman himself, and have written a detailed review and critique for my website.
I therefore respectfully request the prompt undeletion of this article.

List of datacenter Providers
Hi Courcelles, I'd really like to see my article back online. Truth is, there is no real good source to provide a list of all datacenters in the world and I really hoped this could be the starting point. I was amazed to see there is no such info on wiki, though it's absolutely hot I.T topic (wikipedia is also hosted in a datacenter, right?). I thought I had improved the article a little bit, but I was away during Xmas. I really need a second chance here!
I have listed all websites of companies who provide such services. What else do you need? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pierre.davodeau (talk • contribs) 10:42, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

version deletion
Hi Courcelles,
you have F5-deleted the original medium-res version of File:PirelliBuildingAfterPlaneCrash.jpg after I had uploaded a low-res version, as requested by Bkell. However, the problem is that you performed a full deletion that also removed my original upload log from the description page. In my prior communication with Bkell (assuming he would perform the deletion) I had suggested/asked for the kind of deletion/hiding that removes/hides the version content, but leaves the version log intact. I am admin myself on Commons and I do exactly such version deletion/hiding every now and then. As I hold copyright over File:PirelliBuildingAfterPlaneCrash.jpg in most countries (except Italy, which has no freedom-of-panorama provision for buildings; but including US and UK) as the photographer (building is protected in Italy), the log of my first publication of this image is important for forensic (legal) reasons. Therefore it would be nice if you could change the full deletion to the above described content-deletion/hiding, so that the upload log is shown again. IMHO, this file doesn't even need fair-use because it is perfectly legal in the US and UK, where photos of recent buildings are not protected. Thanks. --Túrelio (talk) 21:58, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- The page log clearly indicates who the first uploader was, as does the Author field on the template. I'm confused as to what else you're looking for here. Courcelles 22:01, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- None of those logs provides the full information as the filehistory section does, especially the size/resolution of the initial upload. To demonstrate what I mean, I have performed exactly that kind of deletion/hiding on the second version of File:Glaucium flavum var. flavum, University of California Botanical Garden, Berkeley, California - 20060612-01.jpg. If you look at the filehistory table of that image, the second row should show the complete log, except the image thumb. I hope that it visible to you as a Commons non-admin. --Túrelio (talk) 22:42, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- You used WP:REVDEL. Using the tool like that here would get me desysopped by ArbCom. Courcelles 22:49, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- Though I don't understand why using that would get you desysopped, I'm not that much accustomed with :en policies and, of course, don't want that result. Should be glad that Commons has no ArbCom. So, I give up. --Túrelio (talk) 23:27, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Burrda logo
Hi Courceles, I had uploaded the File:Burrda logo.png short time ago, but it was then removed from the infobox and replaced by other version of the logo (which I didn't know) with a poor-quality image. I had uploaded this logo in order to be used in BURRDA article and had tagged it as "non-free" as well. As you had indicated, I have just added it back to the infobox. If you consider there is something else that I have to do, please let me know. Thank you. Fma12 (talk) 16:11, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
