Where did my picture go? Comet Dude (talk) 16:07, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the Image is there but the Arvada Colorado doent exist Comet Dude (talk) 17:49, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the image because it isn't as good as the rest similar images of the comet (small resolution, the comet isn't easily visible in the image). It is tempting to have your image in the article but there are hudrends of images of the comet available with a compatible license and they can't be all in the wikipedia article. File permission problem with File:Comet nishimura.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Comet nishimura.jpg, which you've attributed to friend. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. Here is a list of your uploads. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 19:12, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I get Angry Easly Espcialy when others deleet milestones ive accomplished, like seeng the comet and I want to share My picture with everyone. (This is the first time I saw a Comet) Comet Dude (talk) 16:24, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Just what im saying Is that I am getting annoyed. the Time it has takken me to Get the pic on was a little less than a Month. Comet Dude (talk) 16:29, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Because you're proud of a picture it isn't necessery that it has to be included. It was a bright comet and thus many people could get a decent image of it with widely available equipment (like a smartphone). As a result there are hudrends available images of the comet (and most of them are from the USA - C:Category:C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) in the United States). It isn't the scope of wikipedia to host all of them in articles (WP:NOTREPOSITORY). Because there are so many images and so many people want to add their image in the article there is discussion in the talk page of the article of what kind of images should be added. Please refrain from adding it back because participating in an edit war could lead to you getting blocked. C messier (talk) 16:41, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That is a star that has become elongated, probably because of an unstable atmosphere, or your camera was wobbling. Crockettr23339 (talk) 14:40, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How would all the others be fine if the camera was shakeing? Comet Dude (talk) 16:12, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Check the same place tonight, compare it to this photo, try to see if that specific object has moved. If it has moved or isn't there, then it is quite possibly a comet. But I'm quite sure that it is not a comet. Crockettr23339 (talk) 16:26, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Looking at your contributions and the block, it appears there may have been issues with you continuously trying to upload your photos to Wikipedia, despite the quality and number of existing photos. If you were unblocked, what types of edits do you think you would make? Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:35, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am getting a much better camera. so probrably new pics of comets, idk yet. Comet Dude (talk) 22:29, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Comet Dude, Wikipedia isn't a good place to keep lots of photos from different people, we need only a few very good ones that are usually taken with very expensive cameras and telescopes.
I think you'll prefer Reddit's astronomy group site where
you can show off all of your photos and talk to other people who like doing the same thing and can help you learn to take really nice photos? If you try to post them here they'll probably have to be taken down, but I know there will be lots of people on Reddit or other amateur astronomy websites who will want to see your pics! Does that sound like a good idea? Blue-Sonnet (talk) 06:10, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am also haveing someone teach me how to take good images. Comet Dude (talk) 18:01, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Comet Dude That's good! You should show them off on a website that's specifically for astronomy photos (like the one I've suggested), because they'll know all about the comets you're photographing and can give you ideas and tips. That'll help you learn to take really good pictures and, one day, you could even add a really amazing one on Wikimedia Commons, then we can use it for an article? For now I think it'd be a great if you first get more experience so you can do that, is that ok? Most of the comet articles on Wikipedia have enough photographs, so it's a really good time for you to learn to be a great photographer, ready for when we do need more astronomy photos!
