Hi, Cmart514. I nominated your Academy Award Nominated Black Performers category for deletion, because generally we don't overcategorize in this way. All the persons listed are members of Category:African-American actors or Category:Academy Award nominees already. Additionally, it is unusual to put so much article-type content on a category page; this may indicate that the article is better handled as a list. You're welcome to comment on the discussion page. --Dhartung | Talk 06:24, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Further note, the content of the page was moved to the article List of Academy Award nominated black performers, but it will no longer function as a category. --Dhartung | Talk 05:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Queen Latifah

[edit]

hey! thanks much for your contributions to Queen Latifah. however many of your edits (the wiki-links) are incorrect which may lead to confusion by some readers. please make sure your links go to the article you intended before saving. for example...your links for “Chicago” are linking to the “city of chicago,” instead of the intended “Chicago (2002 film).” also, please remember the names of films, television shows and such must be italicised. for additional help with these topics, check out WP:HOW, and WP:ITALICS --emerson7 | Talk 01:16, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Black Reel Awards of 2007, by PatrikR (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Black Reel Awards of 2007 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

duplicate of http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Black_Reel_Awards#2007_Winners

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Black Reel Awards of 2007, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:49, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Black Reel Awards

[edit]

Your creation of a separate article for every year of the Black Reel Awards doesn't follow Wikipedia conventions. Instead of a separate article for every year, please consider doing like Academy_Award, where each category is given its own page. In addition, having the same info in separate articles and in the main article seems extremely redundant. Best, --Alabamaboy 20:00, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit to Black Reel Awards

I noticed that you removed a large amount of content from the above article. I've reverted it. If you are doing it in good faith, please accept my apologies.--Kylohk 20:12, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:Cmart514 was doing that b/c there was a lot of info in the main article which was repeated in the sub articles. --Alabamaboy 22:51, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I noticed all of the work that you put into the article on List of Black Academy Award winners and nominees. I think that it is a great idea to include all of the information that you added. As I am sure you have noticed, I also have gone in and made some cosmetic and wording changes --- just to keep each entry consistent. Thanks for your contributions. I think they add a lot to the article. (Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 02:50, 24 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of black performers in Tyler Perry films

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of black performers in Tyler Perry films, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]

Hi there, re. Nicki_Minaj, could you please clarify on the talk page what information you wanted to add with this edit, and please give an appropriate reliable source. You also stopped another reference from working, so please be careful about that in future. If you can help edit the article though, with reliable sources, please do.

I have undone the edit for now, because of the lack of a reference, and because it corrupted some formatting in the article. Feel free to start a discussion on Talk:Nicki_Minaj. Thanks,  Chzz  ►  22:04, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:The Black Reel Award.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Black Reel Award.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. LGA talkedits 04:06, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Black Reel Awards of 2014, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Dark Sun (talk) 15:49, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:25, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Cmart514. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Black Reel Awards, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 21:56, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Black Reel Awards of 2018

[edit]

Please edit Black Reel Awards of 2018 and not Black Reel Awards for 2018. I moved the article. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:22, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Cmart514. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Black Reel Awards for Television, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
