Image Tagging Image:CoM box.gif
This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:CoM box.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 03:20, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
Quadraxis
Yeah, he's awesome. That's why i named myself after him...So good! --Quadraxis 00:31, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Just a heads-up:
Just in case you may have taken them seriously, the anon who made that Mario Sunshine comment was a total troll. It's usually best not to feed into their comments. Just warn them, or ignore them and move on. They aren't worth wasting any energy on. Dancter 03:12, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, after commenting, I decided to check him out and noticed that he is a frequent problem user.--Claude 04:09, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Re: Your Comment in Mary Sue
I have responded to your comment on the Talk page of Mary Sue. Please respond back either there or on my user talk page, so we can resolve the issue. :) Basically, I'm having trouble believing that the article implies what you said it does (as opposed to simply stating that some people believe that, which is actually true, believe it or not. Yeah, I think it's a silly view, too :P). However, as I've been a major contributer to the article, it could be that I'm not aware of how it happened to imply that, so please do let me know which parts gave you that impression, so we can address it. :) Runa27 08:14, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your input on the Mary Sue article! I apologize for taking so long to get back to you, I've been really busy, and haven't been back to Mary Sue until tonight. :) I've made a tweak to the sentence you pointed out, and mentioned it on the article's Talk page as part of the previous conversation on the matter. I would very much appreciate it if you took a look at the change and commented. Runa27 06:34, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Square Enix
I'd like to extend my hand to you in invitation to join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Square Enix. I've noticed you've been editing the Seiken Densetsu articles for a while now, and thought we could get a better idea on our goals with those articles with the help of other WP:SE members. ~ Hibana 09:32, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:CoM box.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:CoM box.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Super Paper Mario
Yes, messageboard comments can be deleted. Straight from WP:TALK: "Keep on topic: Talk pages are not for general conversation. Keep discussions on the topic of how to improve the associated article. Irrelevant discussions are subject to removal.". TJ Spyke 03:17, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- I just read the article. This is what it says:
Editing others' comments (except on your own user talk page) is generally not allowed. Exceptions are:
- If you have their permission
- Removing prohibited material such as libel and personal details
- Removing personal attacks and incivility. Please read WP:ATTACK#Removal of text and WP:CIVIL#Removing uncivil comments before removing anything.
- Unsigned comments: You are allowed to append —Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs) or one of its variants to the end of someone's comment if they have failed to sign it.
- Interruptions: In some cases, it is OK to interrupt a long contribution, either by a short comment (as a reply to a minor point) or by a headline
- When a long comment has formatting errors, rendering it difficult to read. In this case, restrict the edits to formatting changes only and preserve the content as much as possible.
No where does it say that message board style posts can and should be removed. Those messages aren't good practice but the rules are very strict about what you can edit and remove from talk pages, and message board style posts, although not good practice, are not irrelevant to the subject of the page.--Claude 03:27, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- That is regarding editing others comments, not removing off-topic disucssions. The discussion has been removed since it had nothing to do with improving the article. TJ Spyke 04:14, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Removing "off-topic discussions" would be editing others' comments.--Claude 18:41, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Not quite. I have explained the guideline to you. If you disagree with the guideline, bring it up at the talk page of WP:TALK. Discussions that have nothing to do with improving the article can be removed. TJ Spyke 22:18, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Star Ocean articles.
Just so you know, since you seem to be one of the editors watching the Star Ocean articles... I intend to merge some of the various Star Ocean characters and planets into their lists after all. It seems that some of the more active members of Wikipedia have actively turned against such pages, at least where their notability is only the implied obvious kind ("people read/play/enjoy this piece of culture, so more information about it is good"). In fact, they've been actively criticizing the lists themselves and in some cases deleting/redirecting them. I certainly support the inclusion of the merged lists, but I do think that the individual articles on things like Fayt or Claude without real-world context will be tough to defend. Better to clean it up ourselves then get embroiled in a debate.
Also, if you know much about anything outside of the games and anime on these characters, definitely chime in. I know that they made SO3 character figurines which they sold... a fact I'd normally omit as merchandising babble, but it seems that kind of thing is considered relevant by Wikipedia, so go figure. It's a start, at least. SnowFire 16:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well there's always been opposition to some of these characters having pages. The Claude Kenni page was blanked and redirected without warning about 3 times since it was created and some anti-SO3 fanboys spammed the Fayt page under the justification that "it didn't need to be there." The good thing is that there's much to expand on for both characters, and I have a good idea for much more sourced information.--Claude 22:21, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Flick_CoM.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Flick_CoM.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 14:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Questions for Claude Level 250
Hi, I asked this on the Star Ocean IV discussion but I might as well ask it here. Despite everything thing I've seen and despite evidence to the contrary, SO4 still does not have an official platform, correct? I haven't heard anything come out of Tri-ace and it seems like everything is still speculation. Ever since the trailer for SO4 appeared on First Departure in Japan, people have pretty much been labeling So4 as a definite ps3 exclusive. However, nothing official has come out and therefore, I believe it is still speculation. Just making sure though that nothing is official. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.191.48.27 (talk) 21:56, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it's still speculation.--Claude (talk) 06:35, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Vgclogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Vgclogo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 15:59, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Tales Template
I'm failing to see how the picture you posted in the template proves that Dawn of the New World isn't a Mothership title, and as far as I can see the majority on the Talk page agree that it is a Mothership title. Why are you being so persistent on saying that it isn't? --98.223.40.250 (talk) 07:22, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, for one, the titles on the arrow are mothership and the ones that aren't are off to the side...like DotNW. Second, it there was a consesnsus weeks ago that it wasn't mothership since it never was, and the main page has reflected that ever since. It makes no sense for the template for the series to contradict the article for the series.--Claude (talk) 10:00, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Image:SOBSboxart.png
A tag has been placed on Image:SOBSboxart.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~ JohnnyMrNinja 03:30, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (File:SOSE logo.jpg)
You've uploaded File:SOSE logo.jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Volunteer opportunity in Bethesda, Thursday, July 16
The Wikimedia Foundation will be conducting an all-day Academy at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland, on Thursday, July 16. The team that will be teaching at the Academy, a mix of paid staff and volunteers, is looking for four more volunteers to be teaching assistants, providing one-to-one assistance in workshops whenever a workshop participant has a problem following the instructional directions. (We currently have two editors signed up as teaching assistants, and are looking for a total of six.)
The NIH editing workshops are only for two hours, but volunteers are asked to meet the Wikimedia Foundation team at the hotel in Bethesda at about 7:15 a.m. (time to be finalized shortly) and to stay for the entire day, which ends at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. (The full schedule can be found here.)
The team is not necessarily looking for expert editors (though they are welcome), just people who can help novices who might get stuck when trying to do some basic things. If you've been an editor for at least 3 months, and have done at least 500 edits, you probably qualify.
If you're interested, please send John Broughton an email. If you might be interested, but would like further information, please post a note on his user talk page, so that he can respond there, and others can see what was asked.

Please update your status with WP:VG
Dear WikiProject Video games member,
You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or User WPVG somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.
The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.
All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:
- Editing video game-related pages in the Article namespace
- Participating in video game-related discussions in the Project namespace (WT:VG, WP:AfD, WP:GAN, etc.)
Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Non-free rationale for File:SOBSboxart.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SOBSboxart.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
