Edit out
Hello Clarkcj12,
I'm just wondering why my edit of Charlie Puth's Wikipedia page was "not good enough." If you respond, please respond on my talk page. Also, I'm new to Wikipedia, can you help me out on what to do and ,if it's possible, can we edit a page together on Wikipedia so you can help me out on what to do and what not to do. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Williamgregoryyoung (talk • contribs) 20:21, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Williamgregoryyoung: Hi, thanks for taking the effort to reach out to me. The reason why I did revert your edit is because you did remove massive amounts of citations. On Wikipedia, we rely on using compare to these diffs [1], on the right is before your edit, and on the left is your edit. I believe it was accident that you made by accidently removing the references. But when you edit articles you should try to leave references in, as it helps verify the article, and the contents, especially, when it is a WP:BLP article basically BLP means Biography of a Living Person. Also when you add content you should always try to back up your claims by using references for the new material you put in, especially on a BLP article. You can see/read about references at WP:REF. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 21:03, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
- Also don't forget to sign your messages that you leave on talk pages by using the ~~~~ as that will sign your messages, so we know who left them. Also to answer your question sure I don't mind showing you the ropes of how to edit Wikipedia. If you ever have any questions feel free to send me a message back. Draft:Saralwebs page
Hi, i created a page for Saralweb, but was rejected with the reply," mere mention is not enough". The citations i made had newspaper articles dedicated to the relevant topic. If you could please guide me towards clarity, i will be thankful.
Waiting for the response,
Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djohn951 (talk • contribs) 06:42, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Djohn951: -- I understand you have done good on providing, references, but the next step to reformat the article, as right now the way it read is is like an WP:ADVERT, the best way to fix that problem, is to take the tone of the article from a Neutral point of view. Here on Wikipedia, we want every articles view point from a neutral point of view. The main reason why it sounds like an WP:ADVERT is because mainly the article is talking about that companies products. Its okay to mention them, but not focus on them, if their product is well enough notable and has sufficient information on them then they can be created as separate articles. The best way to focus less on the product and more on the company. Such as including more about their history, their background while not trying to sell the company as a product of service. It can be hard trust me, I would also recommending on brushing up on our WP:CORP, and also brushing up on your references which you can read WP:REF. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 06:51, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

One-click archiving ANI threads
Hi Clarkcj12, thanks for helping clear ANI of closed threads. Please remember however that closed threads should not be one-clicked archived until at least 24 hours after the close. (This allows all interested editors enough time to view the close, no matter what their time zone, work schedule, sleep schedule, or login schedule is.) To accurate gauge whether at least 24 hours has passed since the close, Google utc time, and subtract one day from that (remembering to add 12:00 for PM times), and don't archive any threads closed after that time. Thanks very much, Softlavender (talk) 20:33, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Softlavender: Sorry about that, I knew that the bot was 36 hours if I am not mistaken. I tried finding out what the time limit for manual archive was, but couldn't find it. Thank you for letting me know I will make sure that doesn't happen again. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 04:43, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
Hello Clarkcj12. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.
- URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
- Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
- Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
- Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Biblio (talk) 17:57, 28 December 2017 (UTC)

The article too long and spam, There are two information mentioned in the sections on the article, and I have filtered it per WP:MOS, am I made a mistake ? please help filtered the artcicle per WP:MOS. Thankyou. Asianhopeee (talk) 04:24, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Asianhopeee: While yes it may not comply totally with WP:MOS, I have reverted the edit for now. But I would recommend if your edits are going to remove a big section of the article is to open for a WP:RFC, and let the community decide whether it should still be included or not. As some editors can see as "blanking" a massive section of the article as vandalism. Especially when there hasn't been a agreement among editors that it should be merged or included. As some of it probably could be split from the article to make new one. Until then I would recommend opening a WP:RfC to get a community discussion to see what the community thinks. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 04:36, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- okay, Can you help entering the article to WP:RfC to get a community discussion. thanks Asianhopeee (talk) 04:44, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Asianhopeee: I have since added the article to WP:RFC rfc disccussion would be here feel free to leave comments, I would also recommend going through WP:The Wikipedia Adventure as it will help you familiarize yourself with our policy and editing styles. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 04:55, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
- okay and thankyou. but what if no one commented in the discuss? , regards! Asianhopeee (talk) 07:15, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Walk Between Worlds (album) declined
Please note that the criterion you used to nominate this article reads This applies to any article about a musical recording or list of musical recordings where none of the contributing recording artists has an article and that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant (both conditions must be met). (emphasis added). While the name of the band was not as yet linked when you nominated it, you clearly did not check to see if they were notable, which they most certainly are. Please be more careful in the future. Thanks, Beeblebrox (talk) 23:13, 29 December 2017 (UTC)
Made a mistake... sorry
The official name is Vinyard Indian Settlement and not Vineyard Indian Settlement. I am aware that vineyard is the proper spelling but this name comes from the vinyard family whose name is spelled this way.
I am unsure how to delete an article but if you can do this please do so. Sunshine Warrior04 (talk) 03:04, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Sunshine Warrior04: I requested a deletion of the your correct page to move the older page to the new site as the older one is more recently updated. But also I would recommend adding a few more inline citations as per WP:REF, a few good sources you can use are from newspapers, news articles and such. Or even if they are mentioned in books that too. As right now with lack of references besides their homepage, does not really show how notable it is see WP:NOTE, which could actually lead to having your article deleted under that reason. I know you have been hear for 6 years but it looks like you recently started to edit again. I would encourage you to read over Manual of Style, and try our new program WP:The Wikipedia Adventure as that adventure can help you learn more about our policy's and help you write better articles. Another resource I do recommend is that you should checkout our WP:Tea house where a lot of experienced editors are happy to give advice to make articles even better, and guide you through the policy's as I am sure they can be found confusing. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 04:38, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
New Years new page backlog drive
Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!
We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!
The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.
Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:
- The total number of reviews completed for the month.
- The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.
NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, go here. — TonyBallioni (talk) 20:24, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
Natalie Draper
Hello and thank you for reviewing Natalie Draper. You may find that around the same time, another editor felt that a Notability tag needed to go up. However, I may have moved it into main space just a few minutes too soon and had made a number of edits including better sourcing even as all of this was taking place. Some discussion has taken place between myself and the editor on the talk page and he is amenable to removal at this point.
However, he is asking for at least someone else to stop by and weigh in. I am still relatively new and do not want to risk breaking rules, but I also believe that the article’s sourcing is now above average for similar contemporary classical music articles in terms of quality, quantity, and content depth, so I have avoided attempting to pull the tag without express permission (or just another editor doing so).
He made some good points, which I have endeavored to address.
Would you be willing to stop by again and help resolve?
Also, if you have any tips for newer Wikipedians, I’m all ears. Thank you, and thanks especially for editing in the classical space, something that is much needed!
Mariefrance (talk) 17:56, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Mariefrance: - Thanks for letting me know I left you a comment on the articles page. I would recommend you looking at WP:The Wikipedia Adventure as that will help you become more familiar with editing Wikipedia, while learning about some of our policy's. I would also recommend looking at the WP:Tea house where new users can ask questions and get answers from long time editors of Wikipedia. Also another piece of advice is to just leave me a message on my talk page, and I will try to answer any questions you might have as I am happy to guide you on the right path here. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 18:28, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
You are still one-click archiving ANI threads too soon
Hi Clarkcj12. As I mentioned three weeks ago, it's very important for closed ANI threads to stay visible on the noticeboard for at least 24 hours. Wikipedia editors live all around the world, in various times zones, and also have various sleep schedules, work schedules, and log-in schedules. The only fair way to allow for all interested parties to view the results of a closed ANI thread is for it to remain visible on ANI for 24 hours at the very least. So please ensure that you do not one-click archive threads before that 4-hour threshold.
The best way to avoid that is to Google utc time, and subtract one day from that (remembering to add 12:00 for PM times), and don't archive any threads closed after that time. If this is too complicated for you, or too much trouble for you, then please simply leave the board as is. Thank you, Softlavender (talk) 12:05, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hey @Softlavender: thanks for reaching out to me, but I bet if you check the timestamps of when the ANI threads where closed I archived them ~3 days after they closed. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 17:21, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- I did check the timestamps, and you have been closing within less than 24 hours. (Diffs provided upon request.) Please be sure to Google utc time, and subtract one day from that (remembering to add 12:00 for PM times), and don't archive any threads closed after that time. Thanks again, Softlavender (talk) 00:01, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

important question
plz let me know how to create a new wikipedia page . i want to make a page of a nominated politician. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FARZI (talk • contribs) 06:48, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi @FARZI:, I actually just left a reply on your talk page.. But basically here is what I said. I would recommend you go through the WP:TWA which will help you learn the ropes of making articles and referencing. Which can help you greatly. I would also suggest that when making an article, you should add in some citations see WP:REFBEG to learn about referencing for beginners and WP:REF to learn about referencing in a bit more detail. Also I would recommend reading over the Notability policy as not every person needs a page, to help an article to surpass the WP:NOTE policy an article should have references which can be from news sources (ie; news papers, news sites like cnn, or local news sites), books, journals (ie; journals that are nationally recognized for the field that they are in. I would also recommend checking out WP:Teahouse as there you can receive feedback and also tips on creating new articles, and editing Wikipedia in general. If you ever have any questions feel free to leave me a message here, or on my talk page. If you leave a reply here, you can do {{Ping|Clarkcj}} that will let me know you need me. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 06:52, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- Also please note that just they have been nominated politician does not mean they are inherently notable. --Clarkcj12 (talk) 06:54, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
