Dog Dag Afternoon
Please do not add text that makes an already featured article sound less encyclopedic. "It is a sweltering hot afternoon" even in a plot section is not encyclopedic. Staxringold talkcontribs 13:16, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Jason Spevack
A tag has been placed on Jason Spevack requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 21:55, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the "{{prod}}
" template to the article Jason Spevack, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 23:44, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Thumb 402 loogie2.gif
Thank you for uploading Image:Thumb 402 loogie2.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:21, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:American-idol-alexandrea-lushington.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:American-idol-alexandrea-lushington,jpg.jpg. The copy called Image:American-idol-alexandrea-lushington,jpg.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. American Idol
You've uploaded pictures of contestants pretending to be their author while it's obviously not true. Don't do that again, or we'll have to block you. If you not sure how to upload images properly, read this or put {{helpme}} along with your question on this very page, but DON'T upload copyright violations, we don't tolerate this. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 08:51, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, they were uploaded as {{GFDL}}, not {{DFDL-self}}, so you didn't pretend that they were yours - my bad, but that changes nothing: you were wrong assuming that they were under the GFDL. MaxSem(Han shot first!) 09:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- And please stop removing pictures from the AI7 article. No "favoritism" is shown by showing some pictures and not others. That's a bit silly. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 16:02, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- Right and they were removed because they were all copyright violations. These pictures are completely legitimate. And screencaps are probably not going to work as they are considered non-free content, which we generally don't allow except in some cases. See Wikipedia:Non-free_images. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 16:11, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok cool so I've read your note and made the changes you suggested... we agree that the table title sucks (i also stripped out colspan and bgcolor cruft), and the per audition commentary i think is sufficiently interesting to warrant inclusion somewhere, but I'm not caring about it enough to spend another hour putting it all back in another format (cf melinda doolittle's page). Thanks for taking the time to write rather than re-revert! Mjf08 (talk) 00:19, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Kristy Lee Cook
The problem lies in the fact that the page is making assumptions about things that are known only to a select few people, and are never publicized. We cannot say, in any way/shape/form, that she was in the Bottom 2, because there is absolutely no way to verify it. The page, and others, must represent the reality, and that which can be sourced...that she was in the bottom 3. We have no way of knowing which of the two who end up being safe had the higher vote count, ergo...saying she was in the Bottom 2, is original research. Just because it's "consistent" doesn't make it right, nor does it make it ok to violate one of the most important policies that Wikipedia is based upon, that of printed verifiable information. Look right below this edit box and it clearly says that "Encyclopedic contennt must be verifiable;" that she was in the "Bottom 2" is not verifiable. That she was in the "Bottom 3" is absolutely verifiable. That should be the starting point and ending point of the discussion. Until Idol comes out and publicizes the vote count order, any assumption we as editors make, will be original research. I have no problem with a subscript stating what happened on the show, something like "Safe last" or "Safe second," but I am not ok with saying she was in the "Bottom 2." 98.220.177.162 (talk) 02:46, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Dark Horse (Mila Mason song)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dark Horse (Mila Mason song), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. Idol Stuff
Hi Cinemaniac. I don't forsee an edit war between us - I understand about the tabloid, and will definitely clean up Adam's page. By the way, it wasn't me who shortened the judges' save comments - that was User:Woohookitty[1].--Yolgnu (talk) 03:06, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Matt and Danny? They're so mediocre I'd fall asleep before I could put in one of their performances ;)--Yolgnu (talk) 03:27, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Ricky and Jesse might've gotten a fairer trial in the old Soviet Union ;(
- The finalists? I prefer female voices, so I loved Megan, and I really liked Lil until Heat Wave and then couldn't stand her (what an ego!). Alexis wasn't such a shock to me - she would never appeal to Idol's target demographic of 16 year old girls :(
- Allison's my favorite, but she won't go further than 4th place unless she grows a Y chromosome. Among the guys, Adam's rays really make the rest invisible, but I hope Kris will be in the finale with him.--Yolgnu (talk) 04:40, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Also, did you hear about Danny's bizarre "testimony" in his latest studio recording? Right in the middle he stops and says "Sometimes you find yourself in difficult situations, sometimes even hurtful ones, but you know what? I’ve been in those situations and it does get better, so look up, keep your chin up, look up it’s gonna get better" - and that's the point when I puked (look it up on YouTube!). Looks like we've got the next Mandisa on our hands.--Yolgnu (talk) 04:47, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, you sure like trivia! I just don't think it's relevant or important, sorry - and it makes the contestants look bad: Anoop is so bad that he was eliminated despite singing last, Lil was so bad she was eliminated despite African-American females being a lock for top 5, and Allison is so bad, she'll make the season the first in AI history to not have a female in the top 3, etc.--Yolgnu (talk) 08:58, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure I agree with you about listing Anoop and Lil as "6th-7th" (why not just 6th?[2]), but it's not an issue I'm prepared to get worked up over. I'd just hate to be Anoop's publicist - "Anoop Desai, the 6th-7th place contestant on American Idol, has just released his new album..."--Yolgnu (talk) 13:16, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- You're from that site that votes for the worst? Does that mean you're vandalizing Wikipedia and adding misinformation?--Yolgnu (talk) 10:37, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- You were on a list of VFTW members with Wikipedia accounts who are suspected of adding misinformation to AI articles. If you're not a vandal, my apologies.--Yolgnu (talk) 01:20, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Dominic Fumusa
A tag has been placed on Dominic Fumusa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. AfD nomination of David Hernandez and others
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated articles are David Hernandez, Amanda Overmyer, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to the relevant discussion pages: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Hernandez for David Hernandez, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Amanda Overmyer for Amanda Overmyer, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ramiele Malubay for Ramiele Malubay, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Syesha Mercado for Syesha Mercado. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:28, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

I read your charts of last AI season, do you liked Mishavonna, Kristen and Jesse?
Project runway season 6
Hey I didn't know how else to get a hold of you, I think the black collection is Gordana's after much thought and consideration, thinking that it was Malvin, Louise, or Christopher's, but with all three seemingly not having a chance at the final 3, I started thinking about all the detail work, and Gordana's wedding dress rework utilized stripes that were reminiscent of that collection. That is why I think it was her, and with the model Kaylyn, it could be anyone, Kaylyn is beautiful and has been bounced around a lot, and with Tara gone, I could very easily see Gordana going with her. All I know is whoever made that sleek black collection will win Project Runway, and right now, I think it is Gordana.
The reason I posted the note on the discussion page was because I wanted to know if we could list Kaylyn and Lisa as models who have made the final 3 on the chart, they were both obviously there. I couldn't figure out if that first model was Ebony or Tanisha but I knew it was one of them. 01:22, 11 October 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.115.29.97 (talk)
- the only thing i am more confident in then the black collection winning, is that the collection with Lisa in it is Carol Hannah's I was shocked, I remember seeing that dress and Carol's at the beginning but dismissed it, I didn't think she was that great, and even this day I don't think she is that great, but maybe she has something to come that will shock us. I think the black is Gordana's for multiple reason, its very "nazi-inspired" and I can feel her pulling this thing where she is like "I can take something evil from my countries, this world's past, and make it into to something beautiful." That black line is genius, Christian Siriano and Leanne Marshall are my favorites for their couture style, people say Korto should have won, her clothes were nice, but Leanne's was art, so no contest in my mind. Same with this the other two collections are nice, but the black one (Gordana's in my opinion) is true art. And since there is no tulle I am ruling this out as Christopher's, and it is to edgy to be Irina, Shirin, or Althea, Logan isn't that strong of a designer I don't think, so it must be Gordana. I hope it is a Gordana/Carol Hannah final 2 then, I remember them having a discussion about making Charleston proud. I hope the other designer isn't Irina, she is such a betch face sometimes, so full of yourself. You know what Irina if I thought you deserved either of your wins I might think you have a right to be so cocky, but I don't think she did. Also look at Gordana's newspaper dress those lines allude to the same style as the black collection. 71.115.29.97 (talk) 03:30, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
lol! I thought you were going to tear me apart for doing that! But yeah, Irina is way too cocky! Nicolas needs to GTFO! :-D —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thewidow 02 (talk • contribs) 06:50, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Top Chef Quickfire Chart
Thanks for the comment you left about my charts. Well, I thought your quickfire chart was well thoughtout and executed. In my opinion, it was clearer to read the information this way. Also, I am pretty fond of statistics, charts, and other ways to organize information. However, not all editors share the same views about the charts so they just had to go. Anyways, I thought of doing the season 2 chart based on your inspiration, but of course it was removed. I'm sorry that the charts were unsuccessful because they just didn't seem to correlate as well with Top Chef and the elimination chart. Continue to keep editing Top Chef. ---DragonofFire99 (talk) 03:01, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
Also I have predicted the Top Chef winner ever since season 1 and I have only been right two times for seasons 1 and 4 out of five. I feel Kevin has around a 40% chance of winning, Jen has I think about 30% and the brothers, Michael and Bryan together have about 30% as well. Yes picking the winner is hard and it is even harder to pick the order in which the chefs were eliminated as I already picked Eli to go, but it looks like he might stay till the final 6. As for the final 2, it was a wild guess to think they may resort back to only allowing 2 in the finals, but Tom Colicchio announced on his blog that the ratings were higher with only two left to decide the Top Chef. It would be interesting after they did like 10 seasons that they pulled all the top chefs and they did the show with them competing with the regular Top Chef format. And lastly, I have decided to put your quickfire tables on my userpage as their short legacy of being on wikipedia. ---DragonofFire99 (talk) 23:04, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Howdy Yourself!
Got your thoughts and friendly chatter. I have the same view of cruddy replies, spot on! Am in the throws of editing curriculum documents and dealing with many Type-A personalities at the moment, but wanted to add a few words. I'll do better tomorrow night. Chefs = boring as all h**l. Mike I and Eli are pond-scum. Kevin is too good to be true, and Jen is too hard on herself. I'm rooting for her, although I think Kev will win given how well he plays the pork card. Gli Voltaggii are driving me nuts; I go back-and-forth about which one I want to slap at any given time (Bryan at the moment.) Michael won points tonight for the generosity. He's our local boy, so I'm rooting for him, too. To bad his brother put his ego before family. Must creep off to bed now, to gird myself for a room full of enormous egos with God complexes anon. It promises to be an interesting day. Glad your noggin is better. Drmargi (talk) 04:50, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
- Isabella the awful is gone! There is some justice in the world. That arrogant little (fill in the word of your choice) was convinced that as long as Robin was there, he wouldn't be eliminated. Never mind his performance the last two weeks was sub-par at best. It was insane to watch; he'd genuinely lost focus on the competition and seemed to believe he was going to coast to a win, no matter what he did. Never mind that at his best, he was spectacularly mediocre. Do you read Tom C's blog after the episode? It's amazingly insightful at times, this week in particular. More soon; the clock is not my friend at the moment. Drmargi (talk) 11:14, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
OK, so who do you think is going down tonight? I won't get lucky enough to get rid of Eli. That Robin's here this long is ridiculous, no doubt, but Eli is no better. The final five should have been the big four and Ashley. She got SO hosed by Eli and I want to see him go down before Robin as well, just because of the sweet revenge element. But like I said, I'm not that lucky. So better Robin than one of the big four. Eli is no where near in any of their leagues; he's just good at not being the worst and evading responsibility for his crap cooking. Drmargi (talk) 00:28, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
- C'mon bunkie. Don't quit on me now! You're tougher than that. Drmargi (talk) 05:38, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
RESULT!! Eli the snake is out! Talk about being out of his depth tonight. Drmargi (talk) 05:54, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
500 Days
The ending warning is not needed, and looks clumsy. Flag icons don't go in the infobox and aside from historical dates (such as the end of WWII) we don't link dates. Also don't call a festival as fest is it involves piping a link. Darrenhusted (talk) 22:17, 24 October 2009 (UTC)
- Flag icons do not go next to release dates for films in infoboxes. Ever. If you see any then remove them. See: here Some users like to use flag icons instead of country names. However, this should be avoided, as flags are less recognizable than country names. and here Icons should not be added only because they look good, because aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder: one reader's harmless decoration may be another reader's distraction. . The MosFlags and datelinking have been subjects of ling discussions, it is by chance that I found out about them. Any time you see a date that is linked then it should be delinked, except in tables, but this also applies to names in infoboxes (three links for Woody Allen in an infobox all go to the same place). Darrenhusted (talk) 01:16, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks...
Thanks for the comment, but I must laugh... my opinion will never be made consensus... more often than not, I have been told how wrong my opinions are... no, it's a matter of learning to keep quiet, and making sure to follow what everyone else decides is correct... Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we must insist that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kris Allen (album). Kris Allen
Hi there! I think what I wrote on Kris Allen's article is good because Carrie Underwood and Brooke White have the same thing. Brooke has her pre idol album as well. And the post idol album should be titled exactly how i wrote it because that is how Carrie Underwood's article looks like along with other idol alumns so if you don't mind imma revert it back. What do you think? Please reply asap (on my talk page) and thank you! :) And thanks for the biography section compliment! :) --Homezfoo (talk) 10:42, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Permanent blocking
Thank you for the advice you gave me on my talk page about blocking IP 218.214.18.108 . I'm curious about the lenient treatment this vandal is getting. Does there come a point when such a person just gets permanently blocked? Dexter eh? Anthony (talk) 13:50, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
What a nice response! I don't watch TV. I did see the first 2 series of Mad Men on DVD and was very impressed. I'm a bit intrigued by Dexter. I've seen a couple of episodes but was so appalled by one of its premises (it's okay for good men to kill bad men) that I couldn't bring myself to dignify it with a moment more of my attention. However, this good man with bad instincts is a great opportunity to explore some ancient moral dilemmas, and I wonder whether the writers realise this and can live up to it. Kris Allen personal life
Hi there! I think Kris allen should have a personal life section because all idols involded in relationships have one such as Carrie Underwood, Syesha Mercado, and Carly Smithson. And I thought you said that you liked my Early Life and Education edits? Lol. =D
I think they should be two different sections so the article can be more organized. And his personal life will expand in the future. How about when he has kids or a sibling dies? His education can expand as well. And I put the personal life section at the bottom because that is how Underwood's looks like.
And I knew his wife was already mentioned in education, but I just didn't know how to remove it because the refrences/sources confused me and I was hoping someone else would fix it.
This source said he went back to college and dropped out once idol auditions came: http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2009-05-22-allen-exit-interview_N.htm
But his official website said he PLANNED to go back:http://www.krisallenofficial.com/us/bio
So did he drop out twice? This is what confused me.
As for the pre-idol career section. I think I'm going to have to agree with you and leave the sections grouped together and titled as "career" but I'm not so sure since Brooke White's article is different and hers has been like that for a while. What do you think... reply back please on my talk page? I'm just trying to make his article better. :) --Homezfoo (talk) 13:38, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Did you say you wanted me to move the personal life section up to her biography? --Homezfoo (talk) 15:33, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

WP:FILMS' Tag & Assess Drive and Roll Call
Recurring characters vs. guest stars
Hey, I thought I'd bring this to your talk page for clarification, because I don't necessarily disagree, I just wondered how to know where to draw the line? I've obviously just been following the credits to date, but you're right, Shum Jr, Morris, Rivera and Talton play regularly recurring characters. But how would you make that distinction with various others? Is Stephen Tobolowsky at five episodes a recurring character, but Jennifer Aspen at three a guest star? It seems a bit of an arbitrary decision, which is probably why I've never made the distinction before. Thanks! Frickative 19:52, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Jorge Núñez (singer)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Jorge Núñez (singer). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jorge Núñez (singer).
--Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Writer credits in the film infobox
Hey there! :-) The discussion on the writer credits in the film infobox has really picked up in the last few days (basically all comments starting from July 30th), and we're now getting closer to a consensus. Currently, we are trying to determine if there are any objections to adding the fields "Screenplay by" and "Story by". The discussion is still located here. If you have read up on the suggestions and have any objections to these two fields, please post here. If some time goes by without objections, we will take these additions for granted and move on to the next solution. Thank you in advance! Prime Blue (talk) 16:28, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Get Low (film) reference contents
Hi Cinemamaniac86,
I noticed there were only a handful of references/external links about Get Low, the Sony Pictures Classics small budget film currently in release.
There is a video editorial online on Get Low that may interest Wikipedia in referencing the content.

The article Duck à l'orange has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sven Manguard Wha? 13:15, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Proposal to add American cinema task force under WikiProject United States
Greetings, I am a member of WikiProject United States, it was recently suggested that the American cinema task force of WikiProject Film which you are a member, might be inactive or semi active and it might be beneficial to include a joint task force for it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States, which Kumioko and me have added some of the projects like WikiProject American television and WikiProject United States Government. After reviewing the project it appears that there have not been any active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the task force talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. JJ98 (Talk / Contributions) 21:41, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Creating articles with reference needed tags
I just glanced the Newpages section of Wikipedia and noticed Letters from Baghdad, which already has a maintenance tag despite only having one edit- it was created with the tag. I also noticed A Woman, a Part and saw it has a similar tag, even though no other editor has ever touched it. I'm just wondering, why on Earth would you do this? It kind of sends a message to the community- "I'm going to write whatever, and expect others to research and cite for me. Get at it, people". If you're not yet happy with what you've researched/wrote, why hit save? Also, the latter article has nine citations and everything is referenced except "The film was released on March 22, 2017 on limited screens"- so why the tag? Ribbet32 (talk) 07:42, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi Cinemaniac86, if you have a more systematic appoach to film genre (you mentioned something about film school), and of course time, please help with this draft. I have gathered some excellent references about the genre (down at the bottom), also some indicative films from British and French cinema, but I have problems to select what is important to mention in prose. I did a very basic paragraph in the overview but it feel hanging in mid-air. All I can do is just list things where I feel information should be, but I miss the more film-educated and eloquent style to combine them meaningfully. Thanks. Hoverfish Talk 00:04, 4 July 2017 (UTC)

American Idol Season 21
Hey! I am hoping we can come to a consensus on how the elimination chart should look on American Idol (season 21), historically contestants were arranged in alphabetical by last name order, that's the only reason I put it back. As for the eliminated semi-final 1 contestants getting that extra N/A doesn't seem necessary as saying 21-26 covers the fact that their place could be anywhere in that range. As for the width of the chart, it's just a personal thing that I don't think it needs to 100% of the width, if there were a lot of rounds I would say sure, but there are so few, I am like why does this chart need to be that wide. But I would love your thoughts on all of these! Happy Editing Edwyth (talk) 05:41, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey Edwyth! Yeah, I used to be in complete agreement regarding last names, but these days, I now see the fallibility in it.
- As for the N/A, I was thinking you're right. Once they PLACE, then they can be grouped together per "span". The only reason the rest shouldn't be spanned is because they can still be shuffled around, correct? So yes, I fully support grouping together the spanning of the placed people from 13-20 and 21-26.
- Finally, the width, I think if we do it to 1 table, we do it to all tables, so the Hollywood table above would also have to be resized. The reason I'm against it personally is because it bunches up the longer names, thus making their rectangles larger on the chart, and thus looking uneven. 80% seems drastic. If 100% is too much, we could compromise at 90%, perhaps? ;) Thoughts?? --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 22:49, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- 90% is good, I think 80% would've worked too, but I think they are both fine options.
- As for the last name alphabetical thing, I just think all the way back to Season 2 with Trenyce and Season 8 with Lil Rounds, we've always had stage names, not sure why Season 21 is particularly unique in this regard, but it's fine as well. I'm having some difficulty comprehending why this year seems distinct, that's all. Edwyth (talk) 01:50, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- It's not that it's distinct, per se. I hadn't quite made any executive decision, but looked at it and realized such a huge handful were using middle names instead of last names, or a few just mononyms, and then stage names. So when it comes to alphabetization, rather than sticking to historical patterns, perhaps we should all adapt to new methods and then apply them retroactively?
- But I do think WHATEVER the consensus is, it should apply towards all seasons. Otherwise, it would be trivial and irrelevant to just do it for this one lone season. Also, I checked out the table on my phone and I see now why you reduced the margins! Understood. By the way, I do believe Lil Rounds is her actual name. Simon joked with her about Lil being a stage name, like Lil Bow Wow, but it was short for Lilian or something. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:30, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- Then my vote in terms of work load would be to keep the last name alphabetized, I don't want to go back through all those seasons to change it haha. Good to know, I genuinely did not know Lil was short for Lillian. It sort of awkward with Just Sam, which I guess is officially first name Just last name Sam, but hey no system is perfect. Edwyth (talk) 07:16, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
Please follow WP:BRD
Please follow WP:BRD and open a discussion if you really feel a stylisation that is not followed in every source that has talked about Jvke's "Golden Hour", simply saying "it's typed in lowercase in some places" is that important. You added the stylisation note on April 25, and I removed it the following day. That means your edit was challenged, so the next step to resolve conflict instead of restoring it as you've just done (and edit warring), is to start a discussion on the article talk page to restore the material. Using whataboutism, "what about these other articles that do this", is never a good argument. The silly stylisation notes shouldn't be on Eilish's or any other pop music articles you can find either. As I said, MOS:CAPS tells us to standardise capitalisation on Wikipedia, nothing about "note a stylisation in parentheses". Readers know at this point Wikipedia standardises such things. Finally, please do not continue to edit war; an administrator will be informed if you continue beyond this point. Thank you. Ss112 04:58, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Nika McGuigan
A tag has been placed on Nika McGuigan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Redirects to non-existent targets, these three redirects just loop back to each other over and over.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - No, Nika is the correct article. I tried to follow the instructions for a Page Move between Danika McGuigan and Nika McGuigan to a third blank page, but unfortunately, I messed it up. Nika is the name she is credited as an actress, however. All of the other redirects now lead to Nika. Please delete ALL of them except for Danika McGuigan. KEEP Nika McGuigan, thank you. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 02:47, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- What is going on here, is there an article amidst all of these redirects? Liz Read! Talk! 02:49, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Nika McGuigan is just a redirect as well. Is there an article here? Liz Read! Talk! 02:51, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, there was an article under Danika McGuigan originally. I tried to move it to Nika McGuigan, but a redirect was under that page. I attempted to follow the steps under "swap" for a move, but I failed somehow. And made it worse by creating extra pages attempting to move one redirect to another. Finally, I gave up and just cut and pasted. Do not delete the original article.
- Point of all this, it needs to be under NIKA, because that is the name she used as an actress, credited under every single film and TV project. Her full name is Danika, but she never used that in her credits, so her article should be under Nika, and the redirect should be under Danika if need be. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 02:53, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Oh good, my original reply didn't disappear, phew! I hope I explained that well enough. The swap method was A to C, then B to A......I ended up making a D, E, F...Finally, I said screw it, cut and paste. Was about to contact an admin to delete the redirects before I got tagged for this..........
- What is going on here, is there an article amidst all of these redirects? Liz Read! Talk! 02:49, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Please do not speedy delete.
- Well, I just need to know where the article is and you shouldn't have cut and pasted any content. WHere is the original article? I think everything will probably be deleted and then we'll figure out how to straighten out this mess. Don't worry about renames at this point. Liz Read! Talk! 03:06, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Seems as though I didn't even submit it because the speedy deletion freaked me out before I posted it on the exact same page. Fortunately, I just found the cached version on a Google search, so all is not lost. I'll just have to redo the references, which is pretty easy.
- Yes, of course I know cut and paste is forbidden, it said not to do that. But I was so fed up at that point. Right now, I need to find the article w/ full page history so that you all can merge it back into the Nika McGuigan one. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:13, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Da Ni Ka McGuigan is the page that has the history. Thankfully. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:16, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thankfully. I just undid the damage so the article is fully restored on that page. Would you be able to please move that to the ***Nika***, keep **Danika** (no spaces) as a redirect page, and delete this and the other 3 empty shell pages? I apologize about the atrocious mess, but next time, I'll just ask for help, rather than experiment like that. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:22, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- I don't understand your instructions. Please write a page title like [[Complete page title]] and not **Danika**. I don't know what that is supposed to mean. Liz Read! Talk! 03:31, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sure. So everything is located now at Da Ni Ka McGuigan. (After article is moved, this page can be deleted.)
- Please transfer the contents of that article over to the page Nika McGuigan. This will be the main article page.
- Also keep the Danika McGuigan page as a normal redirect to the Nika McGuigan page, so anyone prior to today will know the page has been moved.
- The rest can all be deleted: Mistake McGuigan, Danika Nika McGuigan, Nika Danika McGuigan, and the one above, Da Ni Ka McGuigan. Thank you very much for helping me tonight. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:38, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- Well, I got to the important stuff. I have to check out the other redirects and see if there are CSD criteria that allow them to be deleted. Glad no article got lost in this process. Have a good evening. Liz Read! Talk! 03:44, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
- You as well, many thanks again. And so am I, very relieved the article survived. --Cinemaniac86Dane_Cook_Hater_Extraordinaire 03:49, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted
Hi Cinemaniac86. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
- Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
- Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 12:55, 4 October 2023 (UTC)
