Speedy deletion nomination of Cheo
[edit]A tag has been placed on Cheo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. WWGB (talk) 01:15, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Chubbles! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 11 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Yes, I am aware of the 'Bubbling Under' chart. BUT, when the sub heading states 'Billboard Hot 100' and the attached citation so refers, it is nonsense to slate #113 (or whatever).
Frankly, the US charts systems are geared to ensure that everyone has a chance of appearing somewhere, on some listing or another. If I farted "Baa Baa Black Sheep" out of tune, I would probably get a mention on the 'Not Farting "Baa Baa Black Sheep" in Tune Chart in Chicago in January 2010 (in a hailstorm) (at midnight) (on a Saturday) Mega Blazing Hot 10,000,000 chart'. Sorry - rant over. The real point is you, me and the other sub editor, understand 'Bubbling Under'. A more casual reader may not and think; how does a #113 hit appear in the Hot 100. A cited reference to another recognised chart listing needs to be stated. Otherwise the door is open to all sorts of spurious chart claims; rather like my earlier comment. I am not trying to dissuade other editors throwing in their own efforts, but there is a need for consistency.

Final discussion for Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
[edit]Hello, I note that you have commented on the first phase of Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people
As this RFC closes, there are two proposals being considered:

Hi Chubbles,
What's bugging me is the "(dates unknown)", rather unhelpful in a lead. "Mikołaj Zieleński was a Polish composer active in the early 17c" would be acceptable.

AfD nomination of Rock n Roll Worship Circus
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Rock n Roll Worship Circus. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rock n Roll Worship Circus. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

The 1985 change deletion
[edit]I noticed you deleted my changes to The 1985's page, citing 'vandalism.' As the singer and guitarist of that band, I have no interest in vandalizing my own group's entry. I only wanted to clear up some falsehoods, bad writing, and 'rock journalist' jargon the entry originally included.
I re-posted my changes, and hope they stay this time. Please contact if there's a problem. cheers

The 1985 (again)
[edit]Please stop undoing my revision, as I'm attempting to make it comply with the rules you forwarded to me. There is no reference saying that we played with anyone. Furthermore, who we did a split release with is insignificant.
I try to make changes to be in compliance, you continue to delete these compliant changes with no reason. Any reasoning given to me is contradictory (you say that you have no way of knowing if I really was a member of said band, then you tell me I shouldn't make revisions because I was a member of said band. Which is it?),
I simply attempted to make changes to a terribly writen, bad jargon filled, and inaccurate entry improving the site you moderate, and I'm met with borderline harassment (and that border is rapisly being crossed).
I hope the next revision I make will be my last
Thank you

Alternate vs. Alternative on music articles
[edit]Cmdrobot has been correcting "alternate version" to "alternative version" on music articles, per a guideline which favors British English in general for this variant. However, "alternative" has a specific meaning in popular music (see alternative music), and the bot's last few dozen edits show at least several cases of this correction being made on articles by alternative rock artists. Naturally, this is quite confusing (e.g., on Starlight (song), where "alternative versions" makes it sound like the band has recorded the songs in that particular genre, rather than being a separate take or mix). This grammar fix should be nixed for music articles, or should be corrected by hand. Chubbles (talk) 21:05, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oh no! That particular interpretation of the phrase hadn't occurred to me. I'll remove the 'alternate version->alternative version' rule from the bot, and go back and fix up/revert those edits. Thanks for letting me know. CmdrObot (talk) 21:29, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Gottlieb credits
[edit]I have linked Gottlieb's name in some of the photo credits when appropriate, such as when the photo is specifically listed as being taken in Gottlieb's office, but the article should discuss Gottlieb if the photo credit is to be included. That's why I quoted WP:CREDITS in removing a raft of Gottlieb credits in jazz articles. The relevance should be made plain; the connection between the artist and the photographer. If the only mention of Gottlieb is through an image credit, no connection is established. WP:CREDITS requires relevance, and relevance must be established. Speedy deletion nomination of Rustix
[edit]A tag has been placed on Rustix, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hardcore band prods
[edit]Hey, as you've probably noticed there was a user who PROD-ed about 20 hardcore bands in the space of about 20 mins, yet all of them were notable. He/she even PROD-ed Sick of it All, which I find amazing. The scale of the PRODs within the short time frame suggests that this user did not do any research before tagging the articles; I mean, the majority of them even had Allmusic bios and had released multiple albums on notable record labels, easily passing our notability criteria. I'd normally send a very strongly worded message to the user telling them not to waste my time removing all their tags, but this user seems incredibly experienced, with over 30,000 edits. Speedy deletion nomination of Terri Quaye
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Terri Quaye requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Epeefleche (talk) 23:57, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
The images in the gallery just got OTRS permission and you may be viewing the cached copies from Commons. However, an editor to that page has a conflict of interest since they represent the company being discussed in the article. – Adrignola talk 21:12, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
The article Tadd Mullinix has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. Removal of WP:BLPPROD tag.
[edit]Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 15:52, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
- Chubbles, SunCreator is correct, BLPPRODs are not "remove at will", there are strict requirements for their placement and removal, if you'd like the tag removed, simply add a single reliable source. Unlike regular PRODs, there is no limitation on their reuse. --joe deckertalk to me 15:09, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- Replied to your note at my talk page, thanks. --joe deckertalk to me 15:17, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

- Fails WP:NALBUMS
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Speedy deletion nomination of Mexican Summer
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Mexican Summer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Alexf(talk) 01:38, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Chubbles, every time I see your edits I get confused. If there's no article for this Scott Carter, then why include it? I saw the personal for that album, and there are zero notable musicians. Why include him only?Cosprings (talk) 18:37, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit]You reverted a POV rewrite back in March. The editor came back and placed it in again. Turns out it's not a copyvio, but I've rewritten it again in a more acceptable tone. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 02:42, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]As I recall the grandson wasn't named "III." One of those New Orleans Creole things. I suspect the IP knows the grandson and will revert. I don't think we ned to make a big deal about this. I have a source somewhere from when I expanded the article. I'll try to find it. – Lionel (talk) 23:02, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, so I noticed that you are a prolific author of articles about music and musicians. I saw your talk page list of things that should have articles but do not, and I just wanted to let you know that choral conductor Robert Page is someone who most definitely falls into this category. - I looked him up on Grove Online and he doesn't seem to be listed. However you can find a bio here: [2]. SeanMD80talk | contribs 18:23, 21 December 2011 (UTC)
A heads-up
[edit]You placed a {{mergeto}} on Intertwingularity. But you did not:
- place a corresponding {{mergefrom}} on Ted Nelson;
- initiate a discussion on Talk:Ted Nelson explaining why you think the articles should be merged.
When instantiated both {{mergeto}} and {{mergefrom}} tell readers that they can find a fuller explanation on the talk page of the target explaining the merge. Some contributors simply excise these tags when the tag placer has failed to explain themselves.
In my opinion if a topic is worthy of a wikilink, it is worthy of its own article -- provided there are WP:RS to support it. Ted is a genius, who coined key terms, like hypertext, virtuality, intertwingled and teledildonics. IMO each of these key terms deserves a separate article.
A google search shows that while Ted may have coined the term it is widely used by others, which I suggest substantiates it should have its own article. Readers may come to the wikipedia who are not interested in what the term meant when Ted coined it, but who are interested in how it is used now. Geo Swan (talk) 20:39, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
