[edit]What content do you want to remove ? You can edit the page without asking for permission. If the changes are too significant, you could ask for opinions on the talk page first. I have no idea why you are having the spam blacklist problem. I have read a book about the Bossa Nova movement (Chega de Saudade, by Ruy Guerra, published here in Brazil in 1990), which deals largely with Gilberto's life, and the Wikipedia article seems reasonable -- not too lengthy, and I see no factual innacuracies. Re: National Product
[edit]Mmm I disagree. You wrote "The group has recently released its debut, Luna, on R&M Artist Records, and toured Canada with Panic Division, where they survived a car crash.". None of this really asserts significance. The tour might, if it received significant press coverage but errr... beside their press release... -- lucasbfr talk 14:34, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Thats fair enough, "specifically linked" I can live with; if we go with say two samples, I'd go with excerpts from the first and second movements. Ceoil 21:29, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe, but fair use is allowed. Maybe we need to be a bit more clever and as you have suggested draw in close to the guidelines. An FA article on a symphony without samples is a bit ridiculus, most would agree. Ceoil 21:35, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi there Chubbles, I've seen your name a number of times on articles that were listed at this project. An editor recently listed the project as inactive, and I'm trying to encourage more activity so that we can progress through the daunting list. You can help by continuing to write articles (there's lots of ideas for you), but also by adding your name to the participants list. Rigadoun (talk) 18:57, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- For whatever reason, I looked to see who wrote Augustin Barié, and saw you wrote it a few months ago. I remembered your name from Missa Papae Marcelli and that you had written a lot on music, both popular and classical. I don't actually know which books the list combines. It doesn't have much (recent) popular music, but has a lot of jazz, world music, and defunct record labels, in addition to classical. The list has been there for far more than a year, so you could think of it as an extension of AR1. Rigadoun (talk) 16:46, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Trivia debate continues
[edit]Could you please spend a moment to add your 2 cents to Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not#Sections vs. collections and also Wikipedia:Requested moves#September 12, 2007? I think that you had strong opinions on this matter on Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Template:Trivia, I believe in favour of deleting the template. I lean the other way, in that I believe that trivia has no place on Wikipedia, but in the interest of community consensus I'm letting you know of these two pages where debate is continuing. - Ta bu shi da yu 08:45, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
- I agree, "in popular culture" sections are often quite fine. I appreciate your comments to me and you candour! I guess that my main concern is that there are "trivia" sections in the first place. If the material is important enough for the article, then it is best incorporated into the main article. I disagee with those who just delete material without assessing the content beforehand. - Ta bu shi da yu 07:11, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi Chubbles. If you come across other deleted articles that you want to rewrite, just rewrite a draft article in your user space. When you are done, just post a note on my talk page. If the draft contains substantial new information and it is referenced, I'll undelete the article so you can post your draft. Fair use disputed for Image:Partsandlaborgroundswell.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Partsandlaborgroundswell.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:56, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

I hope you don't mind me stepping on your toes...
[edit]...But I made some edits to the Delirium Veil article to improve it somewhat. I then just kind of got on a roll. Anyway, the article's pretty much a comfortable top end Start Class-bottom end B Class article now. I know the focus was supposed to be on the artist article (which I've put a little into) but if there's an article of this volume in support of it, it's less likely to be afd'd again. --lincalinca 10:13, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
- TBH, neither have I. I'm just pretty familiar with how to expand Wiki productively. I've heard of them, and from what I hear, they're pretty good "on paper", so to speak (lots of musical cred, but not so much in the heart area). Despite that, the reviews I've read to construct the page has prompted me to give them a shot. --lincalinca 10:20, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
Gene Summers
[edit]Since all of the Gene Summers Albums are basically track listing, would you be opposed to one large merge in a new article "Gene Summers' Albums". As it is now, it doesn't seem to fit the notability guidlines "articles on albums should include independent coverage.". Mbisanz 06:31, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- I understand the message lag, not really trying to make a point here, or contesting Gene Summers notability. But for instance Texas Rock And Roll's content, other than the list of songs, is the medium released on, what year it was released, what country it was release in, and which artist released it. And none of those facts are sourced. I'm not against including albums or even only semi-notable albums of notable artists, but as most of these articles are now, they really don't provide a context. As far as other albums on WP, I just haven't gotten to them yet :). Since I'm not a music expert, I'll toss the Unreferenced and Context tags on them, watch em for a couple of months, and then propose a mass-merger if nothing changes. Thanks. Mbisanz 06:44, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well then this is simply a task for me to drop the discography cites onto the individual album pages. Still I might tag some for context, as I'm sure there is a backstory to each album (billboard chart, sales, etc) that could be added by someone with those non-web resources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mbisanz (talk • contribs) 06:52, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Blessthefall is not a Screamo band, in any way, it's a post-hardcore band, I was just correcting out, I wasn't vandilizing, just thought it would be good to avoid confusion about the screamo genre, since it's already largely misinterpreted, if I did anything wrong, sorry, just thought it would be best to keep the article as accurate as possible, cheers. --XClaudiox 16:34, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the Screamo term has been created just to define "Chaotic emo" bands, such as Saetia, Orchid, Love Lost But Not Forgotten, Gauge Means Nothing, and such, they sound nothing like Blessthefall, which sounds pretty much like post hardcore to me. I believe Screamo is largely misintepreted nowadays, and it takes a lot of research to get some accurate information on the genre, in fact, some bands have even mislabeled their own sound as Screamo. I listen to a lot of Post Hardcore and Screamo as well, and I'm pretty certain of what I say. --XClaudiox 16:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I will get some material together and try to make some articles about Screamo bands and such, sorry for adding the comment on the top of the page, this is the first time I edit a discussion article. I'm really sorry about the delay in replying. Thank so much for the proofreading! I looked over your comments, and I'm still not sure how to translate "křupavých". I checked a dictionary, and the standard translation is crunchy, but that might not be applicable to an album title. Anyways, the album title is identical with the title of a song in it. I looked up lyrics and here's a rough summary of the "plot" : The narrator was visiting a girl. She brought him a plate with "křupky" (=any junk food that crunches, like Cheetos). However these "křupky" were shaped like hearts. There was a candle on the plate, so the narrator figured out that this was no ordinary night. He had a glass of wine, and decided to leave. She convinced him to stay, it was raining outside anyway. And so he began to move the crunchy hearts on his plate. They formed an 8, an infinity out of two 0's. And the girl fumbled with the formation, creating a heart out of little hearts. And he "broke" it. I know my summary sounds like non sense, but song lyrics were not made for summarisation. Anyways, the point is that "crunchy hearts" definitely belongs there, but there is also supposed to be the symbolism, the breaking of the heart out of crunchies broke the girl's heart. I'm still not sure what term to use. I think it would be wise to stick with crunchy, but any further input would be great. Puchiko 02:19, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Article requests on classical compositions
[edit]Hello, I just noticed that the page dedicated to article requests for classical compositions Wikipedia:Requested articles/music/Operas, stage musicals and classical compositions has been deleted by User:Wizardman and that in response to this, you have accordingly updated the links to that list, found on other pages. May I ask you if you were aware of any dicussion about the deletion before it occurred? In my opinion, a separate page is necessary since the list is quite long in itself and to ensure it remains solely devoted to classical pieces and does not get cluttered up with requests for articles on "compositions" in every genre, which ought to go elsewhere. Hope to hear your thoughts, Defrosted 00:11, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

My thoughts on "How to get your article written"
[edit]I think that's a great idea! I really like how you explain certain issues like notability instead just giving links to policies. The specific examples are nice too. I think this will help requesters (and us, of course!)
A couple of things I would change. First, maybe change the name to "How to get an article written" or "How to get your requested article written" or something like that. As it is right now, some might interpret it as "how to get an article written on yourself" (or maybe it's just me?) Which is something else you might want to include - letting people know requesting an article on yourself (or your band) is generally discouraged. Second, I would change the first bullet point under "What to do". I think this will lead to lots of unnecessary disambiguating. Sometimes leaving it as a blue link is OK. A blue link might be only a link to a useless disambig. page or a redirect to another related article, and it would be the appropriate place to create the article. I do think something needs to be said about this issue, though.
One thing I would include, is a note about double checking to make sure the article doesn't already exist. I would encourage people to try searching Wikipedia for the article first. I've run across many requested artists that already had a article. The requester couldn't find it though because either they spelled it wrong or used incorrect capitalization. A search (instead of hitting "go") most likely would've turn up the article (a Google search of Wikipedia is even better).
Finally, where you mention notability, I would the link to WP:MUSIC instead of WP:N, as it's more specific.
Thanks for writing all this out. I know most requesters are not familiar with Wikipedia's inclusion guidelines, and this a great way of coaching them without throwing tons of policies and guidelines at them. Besides what I've mentioned above, I wouldn't include anymore instruction, as they'll be less likely to read it all, so just for ideas check out Dihydrogen Monoxide's essay on Satisfying music notability guidelines. It's really for editors and not readers (requesters), but it has some helpful tips in it.
Best regards, Rocket000 09:29, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Deleting lists in favour of categories
[edit]An crufty list you mon'd for AfD was recreated earlier this eve.(the oh so WTF? "List of metalcore bands") I tagged it for Speedy D as a repost. The creator is a very busy fellow on many other useless list-cruft type lists for many dubious fairy-tale heavy metal sub-genres that ooze original research. A quick glance through the user's edit history reveals a long list of potential/successful AfDs. If you are inclined to cleaning out the "fluff" perhaps many of these fanboy pages could be removed in one powerful Wiki-antiseptic swipe. Just a thought. Natassja Noctis
[edit]Could you help gather info / resources enough to create a decent article on this artist??
- Natassja Noctis - Solo musical artist, author, former Gravemist, Skullkrusher and Obskurum guitarist. some resources see: Natassja Noctis: ASCAPlus award winner, Natassja Noctis Interview in Black Belle Webzine, Natassja Noctis/Gravemist Interview with Skullring Dot Org
--67.149.54.217 14:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- This looks like it would be a difficult case to make. Of the bands she's been in, only one, Skullkrusher, currently has an article, and to be honest with you, without more reliable sources, that article will probably eventually be deleted. And, just taking a look on Google, there are at least three other bands called Skullkrusher and none of them seem to stand out (perhaps the Finnish group scores highest, as they at least have an Encyclopedia Metallum entry). Skullkrusher doesn't have an Allmusic entry and isn't listed in my Great Metal Discography. Gravemist once had an article but it was deleted; there's a residual copy here, but I can't see the band passing Wiki's requirements again. They seem to be a mostly local group that hasn't gotten much outside coverage, at least not online. Do you have any paper magazines that discuss these groups? I don't have access to the zine that is mentioned in the Skullkrusher article, unfortunately, but it might help.
- As for Noctis herself, her albums appear to be more or less self-released, and the blog interview, while nice, isn't likely to pass for a good source, because anybody can set up a blogspot page and interview a musician; we'd need a more reputable, published source. Her albums haven't been reviewed in any major publications that I can see. She seems simply too new and too local to pass muster. The award she won (from the PittRadio website) is the strongest evidence we have yet, so maybe if that wins her more notice in the near future we'll have more to work with. But, unless there are more paper sources, I doubt I'll be able to put up an article that would survive. Chubbles 23:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Skullkrusher was punk, not a metal band, so they would have no reason to appear in Great Metal Discography or in the Encyclopedia Metallum', however, her other band, Obskurum does have an entry there as they were Black Metal. See: http://metal-archives.com/band.php?id=20833
See: USBM list: http://www24.brinkster.com/usbm/index3.html This band did a split CD with Vrolok, who just appeared on the History Channel. They were originally called "Blackreign". They were the first (only?) openly queer US Black Metal band. The award was NOT from Pitt RAdio, that was merely the press release on a music news site. The award was a Prestige award from The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP): see: http://www.ascap.com There seems to be hundreds of articles here on alternative/underground artists who self-release their material. That seems to be a matter of personal choice not an issue of popularity or notability. See: Luftwaffe, Death in June, etc... In fact, Radiohead and many major artists do this now as well. She is also the founder of the Therian Temple, author of the book the Therian Bible, and the first person to win an ASCAPlus Award that is openly a member of the Church of Satan. She is a former writer for queerplanet Global Media, and the own of Noctis Cultus Publishing / Media Group which has published Skiteater Zine, Misanthrope Journal, (in the 1990s / early 2000s-- Mangelslakt, MaximumRockNRoll, Slug & lettuce all had reviews of these several times) and Noctigram Magazine (current). Certainly, All That must have some notability..? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.149.54.217 (talk) 14:35, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, Skullkrusher also doesn't appear in my Great Alternative/Indie discography, either, which does cover punk. Granted, it's written by a Brit; I should look into finding a good discography of the American punk scene, but regardless, these groups seem like they might be too new to be in paper encyclopedias.
You'll note that the Encyclopedia Metallica entry for Obskurum mentions that there is almost no information available online about the band. In fact, whoever wrote that entry has very little to add. The problem here is, I look at these bands and I say to myself, they look like local Chicago groups that have been self-releasing their stuff; how can I make the case that they have gotten some sort of major national or at least regional exposure or notoriety? The Brinkster24 list is more like a phone book than a real source, and the author even states at the top that he has trouble with quality control. Let me take your statements point by point.
- If Vrolok was featured on the History Channel, that gives them at least a shot at coming up with a decent article. But being featured on a split with a notable band doesn't automatically make the other band notable unless they start getting noticed on their own.
- I found at least four other bands called "Black Reign" and two called "Blackreign"; some metal and some rap. (Metal bands seriously need to get more creative with the names.) There is very little on the Internet about this group, either. Which is strange, because a 2000's-era band which has any sort of notoriety whatsoever usually shows up in a search engine. And there's so little for this band.
- If the group is the first queer US Black Metal band, and this is important, why are you the only person who seems to know it? I can't find any source that says that. Have they been featured in a gay magazine? That would be a major help - in fact, that alone might be enough to substantiate the article.
- I know the award was from ASCAP. PittNews seems to be the only news outlet that covered the award, and mind you, all they did was reprint, verbatim, Noctis's press release. Which is okay; it's a start. But it's only a start. If you want to write up an article and hang it all on that award, you can, but I can't guarantee that it will sway the community.
- Death in June has been around for 25 years and has been covered countless times in music magazines. Luftwaffe is a harder case; they're newer and possibly another target for deletion. See, here's how it is. If you are a band who self-release all of your material, and you become an international success story and get covered in music magazines all over the world and have books written about you, like Death in June or Dispatch, that deserves an article. Wikipedia has an exhaustive list of qualifications at WP:MUSIC; if you're a band that releases two albums on a major label, then you can have an article. Or if you chart a hit single or your album charts, you can have an article. Or if you get featured in a half-hour long radio broadcast (like on NPR), you can have an article. Or if you are an underground band who never leave Chicago, but you are the subject of multiple news/magazine/review articles, you can have an article. This band, so far as I can see, meets none of these qualifications. Who is writing about the underground Chicago punk and metal scenes? Well, not Greg Kot or Jim DeRogaitis. I lived in Chicago when these bands were around and I never heard of them - and I was paying attention.
- Being a Satanist doesn't mean you get a Wikipedia article. There are tens of thousands of Satanists; so what? Also, starting your own temple doesn't mean much unless your temple becomes a big deal, and it's only a year old. It appears to be nothing more than an occasional blip on some blogs' radar, and apparently something that deeply concerns the furry community.
- You mentioned Maximum RockNRoll. Did any of the bands you've mentioned get a review in that magazine? That would help; it would be the biggest press coverage I've seen so far.

Tagging
[edit]I don't look around for a guide/source for a band that I tag. If I tag a band, it is because there are no sources. Sometimes, I will tag a band with AMG on it because the AMG information is nothing but crap. It is the maker of the page who should provide all needed sources and/or provide a stub tag.Metal Head (talk) 16:53, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't mean to be an ass, but AMG, especially for bands who have not hit it big, is nothing but a bio for a band. Most of the times, that bio was retrieved off of the band's homepage. Just search for the band Setherial on AMG, and you will see what I mean. (btw, this is a new edit account for me, i've been on wiki since 2001ish. i get a new account at the turn of a year) Anyways, what I am basically saying, if the AMG info is nothing special, I will tag it. If it gets untagged, I will forward it to AfD.Metal Head (talk) 17:02, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- All music guide is nothing different from Wikipedia. The members can suggest changes to any and all listings. If enough things are requested, it is done. The fact is, 50% of the time AMG is nothing special. Fueled by Ramen, in my opinion, is a record label that signs bands who are going to be big for about a few months and then the bands will cease to exist. Go figure. Metal Head (talk) 17:05, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- It does justify it, and the admins who delete the article agree. Metal Head (talk) 14:01, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

When I rewrote and recreated the Zeitgeist article, it was incorrectly nominate under G4 CSD and had to go through 2 DRVs before being relisted under AfD where it received a unanimous Keep vote...so I was a little frustrated to see what I thought was another incorrect CSD. [edit]Wikipedia's in other languages can be put as references. That is what I have been told over and over again. Where did you get your information that they are not references? Callelinea (talk) 22:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Please do get a third opinion, because I have been told by other administrators in the past that other wikipedias can be used as a references and can be used in AfD discussions to support articles. I in the past thought as you do, but was told otherwise. As for your accusation of copying the article from another source, you might be correct.. I many times copy and past articles and then rewrite the articles, obviosly I must of forgotten to rewrite that article before I posted it.. It was a mistake. You are more then wellcome to review my other articles and see that Antonio Machin article is hopefully the only one that fell through the cracks.Callelinea (talk) 04:11, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- You are correct about the other Wikipedias. My mistake.. I'm sorry. They can be used to prove notability but not necessarly used as a reference.Callelinea (talk) 04:23, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Aware Records
[edit]The history bio of Aware records was sourced from three different places, I stitched the information all together from Columbia, Aware and from one of the compilation CDs they used to put out and wrote the entire prose myself, without taking the information directly from any of the sources. It may resemble the info on the Aware bio, but naturally, there are only so many ways you can say something, especially since the facts can't just be manipulated to accomodate an altered way of displaying the facts. --lincalinca 02:58, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Inappropriate...?
[edit]At the moment I am going through Category:American musical groups putting more specific categories in each article so that the category gets reduced in size (Currently there are 2000+ articles linked). I have done 0-9, A - B and nearly C. As I go through I am also trying to tidy (i.e. get rid of) any unnecessary articles. Obviously the quickest way to do this is to tag for speedy. When the article consists of only one or two lines and says nothing of importance, to me that does not justify an article, and certainly does not assert any significance. It is up to other, more experienced editors to check if these articles meet the speedy guidlines. Keep an eye on my contributions, as I try to put in the edit summary if I have nominated for speedy or prod (I will usually add "speedy" or "prod" on the end of the summary. Cheers Nouse4aname (talk) 11:34, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Apologies. Having just looked back at Clare Quilty, I didn;t read the line with chart hits in the first time, so I shouldn't have nominated. I would imagine mistakes like this will be pulled up by others when checking my speedy noms. Apologies again, I will try to read more thoroughly in future, although I will likely continue using speedy as AfD takes too long! (EDIT - too long to nominate, not too long to delete!) Nouse4aname (talk) 11:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- As I said above, my problem with AfD is not the time taken to delete an article, but the time it actually takes to nominate the article for deletion. It is my view that an article shouldn't be started unless there is something important to put in there. I, apparently unlike you, don't believe that everything is worthy of an article. This is not a collection of random information. It is an encyclopedia, and just because we are not limited by the physical size (as with a paper copy) we should still attempt to have at least some requirements for a basic article. If the article seems non-notable to me, then I will nominate it for deletion via speedy. This nomination can then be either confirmed or denied by the subsequent editor, which seems sufficient to me.Nouse4aname (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- OK, how about i prod them instead, and you keep an eye out (I will label "prod" in edit summary along with explanation of category change), and also I will post a list on your talk page every so often. I am unlikely to do much more today anyway. I think I have only tagged 5 or so as speedy so far. Some of my edit summaries autofilled with speedy at the end, when I didn't actually nominate them, so may make it look like more. Also, if you fancy helping out with changing the categories, that would be great. (It's a dull job, but no one else seems to be doing it!) Nouse4aname (talk) 14:05, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for contacting me. The reason I speedily deleted the article was because it did not assert the notability of the subject and the band itself does not seem notable according to a google test - [3] and [4]. There are no reliable sources and no news search results. If you disagree with me, the best thing to do would be to list the article on Wikipedia:Deletion review where community consensus can be attained on whether the article should be restored. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me again. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) 16:23, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Concerning the Lakes
[edit]Just wanna let you know, it was nothing personal with the speedy deletion tag for the Lakes article; I clicked on Random, and it popped up. It seemed like a non-notable group based on my (limited) knowledge of wiki standards. So I did some looking around, and that matched best what the page seemed to be. TBH, I agree with your idea of what belongs on here. Fact is, though, they're not *our* rules, but we've gotta obey 'em anyway. Good luck expanding the article. Loquat Article
[edit]So I tried to cut my Wikipedia teeth creating a stub article for the band Loquat, only to have it deleted out from under me for failing to assert notability. After taking the time to do some more research and try to review all the rules and regulations, I've created a more comprehensive article that I believe satisfies notability. I intend to keep a closer eye on this one and keep improving it as I learn more, however I'd feel safer having a more experienced eye take a glance to make sure I have my ducks in a row. So if you have the time, I'd really appreciate any advice or insights you might have. Smakian (talk) 10:00, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]A redirect right now :) Slightly more google hits, it's the form that Onno v. Rijen's site uses (why not, I guess), middle/extended family etc. (patronymic? only just re-read Crime&Punishment, an edition w/ good notes, and can't remember) names in article titles do not please me (in the beginning of the biography- before birth and death date or somewhere else prominent- is where I do think they not only belong, but really should be and too rarely are). I'm ok with the "y" in Taneyev but not here but also ok with my own inconsistency- maybe because it doesn't cause adjacent vowels :) That's my approach anyway - subject to revision, not fixed in etc. And thank you for all your recent work (Graener also, etc. !) This is for creating an insane amount of music articles. I truly believe you are one of Wikipedia's most valuable contributers. Ever. Your dedication and commitment to improving and expanding this project simply amazes me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all your hard work. Thank you.
Sincerely, Rocket000 (talk) 02:39, 21 December 2007 (UTC) |
- lol. You're so modest. I give you this award and you start talking about someone else's contribs. :) That's an interesting list, BTW. Didn't know it existed; thanks for pointing it out to me. Cheers, Rocket000 (talk) 03:09, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hey Chubbles,
I am the copyright holder for this image (I am Adam from Ever We Fall). I'm still trying to get the hang of this wikipedia thing, probably pretty obvious I am new to it! I appreciate you looking out for our work, what can I do to verify that I am who I am? I re-uploaded the image, including credits to the image, and changed the license to CC. Whats the next step?

Hey
[edit]I thought you might find the following interesting, User talk:T. Anthony#Music. Merry Christmas, Dongzhi Festival, Hanukkah, Hogmanay, Kwanzaa, Solstice, Soyal, Yule, Zartosht No-Diso, or whatever you celebrate.--T. Anthony (talk) 00:54, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- It might be coincidental, but I noticed you've turned many of the red-names listed on my little list blue. Thanks!--T. Anthony (talk) 03:31, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I have reviewed your request and am going to decline it for three reasons:
- The article was prodded, not speedily deleted. Therefore, you or anyone else who found the song notable had five days to remove the notice.
- The article was PROD endorsed, which meant that, including myself, three people endorsed the deletion of the article, a rare feat for a PROD.
- The content of the deleted article in its entirety was ""Days of our lives" is a song by Bone Thugs -N- Harmony." This means that no assertion of notability was made (not every song by every famous artist is automatically notable). The PROD was worded poorly, but the intent was correct: there was no assertion made of notability. Furthermore, restoring it in that state would be useless without an assertion of notability.
If you wish to recreate an article on the song that asserts its notability through a variety of reliable, third-party, independent sources, you may feel free to do so and I have no problem with that. Recreating it as it was, however, is against Wikipedia's content policies and, given that I've copied the text of the article in its entirety here, there's no reason to restore it. Cheers, CP 06:54, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
Merry Christmas! I saw that you created the Cliff Carlisle article. I Just uploaded Carlisle's commons:ColumbusStockadeBlues.ogg on commons. You can use it for the article. I'm going to upload some more tunes of him. If you wish, I can change the picture of him (which we use in the german wiki) to commons. The yodeling cowboy (talk) 17:14, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
Sons of Maxwell edit summary
[edit]Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the article Sons of Maxwell has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did, and feel free to use the sandbox for any tests you may want to do. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 22:21, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Let me put this another way, this edit summary is not only uncivil, but it is a personal attack, " Insulting or disparaging an editor is a personal attack regardless of the manner in which it is done. When in doubt, comment on the article's content without referring to its contributor at all." If you continue making such comments, you run the risk of being blocked. Dreadstar † 00:13, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- This little remark is why I "felt the need". I suggest you "flirt" a little more civilly in the future, the behavior of others is no excuse for uncivil remarks or personal attacks. Dreadstar † 00:25, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Future Leaders of The World edits
[edit]Chubbles, you really should include more info about Machina on the Future Leaders of the World article. The article should be more about Machina instead of "FLOW". Things about Machina working with Mick Mars and other line up changes should be included in the article. Since the band is no longer "FLOW" the article should be more geared to Machina and what Machina is doing. Outdawg (talk) 06:38, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
