My RfA
Thank you for participating in my RfA. I decided to end it; more time is needed, and I probably need a bit more experience. From here, I think I'll look at community discussion, AfD and the like. I will try to improve in the areas of concern, and thanks to everyone who supplied feedback. -- Selmo (talk) 06:32, 17 December 2006 (UTC) |

You asked about the vandalism. Well, he's been blocked, but for future reference, he was changing all the actors that play Jason Voorhees to "Kane Hodder". Though Kane Hodder did play him, he didn't in any of the films the anon was changing him to. That was what he was originally blocked for, being disruptive. Re the WP:BITE case on the incidents page. I think consiering the fact that all the signs point towards him being totaly ignorant of talk pages, it is a vilation of WP:BITE to block him. - From his/her edits, this person was clearly quite intelligent, understanding and using some complex aspects of wiki-coding, such as templates and piped links. Here's a good example. I'd be quite surprised if he/she couldn't figure out the simple instructions for requesting and unblocking and/or requesting a name change. For that reason, I'm fairly certain the editor simply created a new account and isn't particularly concerned about attribution.--Chaser T 08:40, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Excel School
Sir, Why you deleted the article named Excel Pearls Nursery School? I found [3] that it's a nursery school and hence the reason for nomination it for deletion. It is not a nursery school. But I have only the school prospectus of the Nursery section which is to be used as reference. Since the article have to focus the refernced source, I named it in the name as in the Prospectus. Iam in search of original source and soon I will find some thing and was on the way to rename it as Excel Central School, which is its original Name.
Also this is one of the most important school in Kanyakumari district. See here and here. Notability is not a problem. With refering original source, I may be able to explain it in detail. So please help in retaining the article.
I don't know that the article was deleted since today. When I look for the article today, I find that it was deleted. And to bring back it What I have to do? Please help. - Paul 07:55, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- You're welcome to take it to deletion review, but I doubt it will get restored with those references. If the school has a website, that might help to establish that it's more than just a nursery school. It went through process properly, so I can't restore it without a consensus at deletion review. Sorry.--Chaser T 08:00, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
RfA questions
Thank you for taking the time to answer the optional questions. They are my way of participation. If I don't offer a Support or Oppose vote, then it should be assumed that I'm remaining neutral. I generally don't vote one way or the other in an RfA because I don't want to give the impression that there is a right or a wrong way to answer the questions and I don't want my vote to appear as a knee jerk reaction to the answers given. I will vote if the answers to any of the questions (including those not my own) give me a strong reaction one way or the other. I have found that other participants have found the questions useful because they have been cited as a basis for their voting decision. Generally, RfAs tend to be a landslide in one direction or the other, so my one vote won't make much of a difference in this kind of circumstance. This is also why I generally don't apply my questions to RfAs I already see as a landslide. —Malber (talk • contribs) 13:27, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Did check WP:MUSIC and would like to think that it meets a number of the criteria, generally as follows (but if you need me to clarify or you think that the 'grounds' are shaky let me know:
- can cite a number of Australian press reviews of the band and their releases if necessary (these articles are not press releases but independent reviews.
- the band have toured nationally on several occassions
- depends on whether you cite Redline Records (the label established by members of the band, Jebediah) or Shock records as a major indie label or not.
- Simon Struthers from the band is now a notable record producer as well working with a number of up and coming bands and artists, notably Bob Evans (who's latest album has been nationally recognised)
- the band in 1998 won a national competion for unsigned bands run by the Australian Broadcasting Commission
- the drummer from the band also won a West Australian Music Industry Award in 2003(which after the ARIAs) are one of the more nationally recognised music awards in Australia.
- the band have also recieved national coverage on the Australia Youth radio Station, Triple J.
does this assist? Dan arndt

Your advice
Thank you for your advice regarding new page patrol. I have been using a tool to do new page patrol and that tool shows the most recently added new pages. I will put in a request for an option to have new pages "from the bottom" of the list. I'm actually unsure, however, whether it is less cruel to tag some of the pages immmediately. There are a large number of new pages about non-notable bands or non-notable teenagers. It would seem less cruel not to have them adding biographical material for an hour before their article is tagged as possibly qualifying for speedy deletion. Just a thought. Thank you for your assistance, and please feel free stop by again. Sincerely, --BostonMA talk 13:39, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Deletion of MaxiVista vs. Multiplicity
I would appreciate your offered help: I created the MaxiVista article roughly based on the Multiplicity article (as MaxiVista offers a similar feature like Multiplicity) and both articles were actually similar in the way of description. Surprisingly, the MaxiVista article has been deleted because somebody sees it as spam while the similar article Multiplicty is still listed. I do not understand why the one is kept and the other one is deleted. I would appreciated to have this explained.

Why did you decline deleting this article? The article is only 3 sentences and there is no clear reason for it's notability. Fighting for Justice 01:59, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Un-Delete My Article
I didn't create the article for it to be deleted. I even said on the article's talk page that I understood that the article was liable for speedy deletion, and I even rebuttled with a statement on the article's Talk Page. My article was titled "Cosmic Flight Entertainment," I cannot type out a whole perfect article that you might expect at the moment, especially when it was about 3 AM whenever I was typing it. This has been at least the third time that I have tried and created the same article, but you ignoramoses keep deleting it. I know that you are Administrators, but quit abusing your powers.—Preceding unsigned comment added by GageShoichi (talk • contribs)
- Your next step is deletion review. I didn't delete Cosmic Flight Entertainment because it was imperfect or unfinished, but because it failed to assert notability.--Chaser T 19:17, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, and I understand that. As stated before, I did intend to further develop my article, so that it may meet the specific guidlines.
- Putting "assertion to notability" more bluntly: why should anyone care about this group? Why do they merit an article? What makes them important or significant? Answer that question and you may have yourself a good reason to head to DRV.--Chaser T 19:25, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Because I feel that their background needs to be told, I've seen dozens of articles that render the same thing that I am trying to accomplish, and even those, I love reading through. This article is basically for informational purposes, which is what, I think anyway, Wikipedia should be. Yes, you may not understand what I am getting at, but if you un-delete the article, I will show you that I can create an article that "asserts notability" by updating the article with current projects, news, etc. One such article that I belive deserves to be deleted more than my own article is Mondo Mini Shows, just off the top of my head. I mean, even I am willing to create a more relevent article than that, and I will create a more relevent article than that. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GageShoichi (talk • contribs) 19:36, 27 December 2006 (UTC).

Is this the reason for the deletion? Is there more to this in a deletion notice somewhere that I cannot find?

Curtis
Please take a look at Talk page of NCAHF. I have backed off, and now Curtis is attacking Ronz. This should be self explanatory. By the way, Curtis has certainly been 'guilty' of 3RR both on BI article and this one - his 'fresh additions' were also reversions. That aside, I have no particular interest in Barrett or NCAHF, other than his legal involvement, which does interest me as I am an attorney. I am neither "pro-Barrett" nor "anti-Barrett", and genuinely have no bias here (other than my interest in Constitutional law and legal proceedings.) Curtis' attacks are not only vicious, they are out of left field. I think you will see for yourself, if you look at Curtis' edits. Now that I have backed off, he is attacking Ronz. In NCAHF, he excerpted large portions of one or more websites, which no other editor felt was appropriate. Curtis reverted that article numerous times, until I gave up, and one editor tagged the article as "copyright" violation. Since the tag, Curtis has continued to add similar objectionable edits to the article (the instructions of the tag request editors leave it alone until admins have a chance to resolve it). I do not know who this person is, but this is stunning. Oh, and he does not give up - insists on having the "last word", as you can also see. Jance 05:49, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Jance, I've been trying to de-escalate this on Curtis's talk page between him and Ronz. Could we just declare a truce on the article talk pages for a while, please.--Chaser T 06:04, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think I already have. i let him have the 'last word'. If you look at what I provided above, you will see that I backed off, and so Curtis then attacked Ronz in a similar fashion. My guess is that next it will be another editor. Since Curtis told you 'his side' of the story, which referenced me, I thought you should see what he has been doing. Good luck. Jance 06:05, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I'm still reading things.--Chaser T 06:12, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I hope you can. Curtis is still commenting on the talk page of NCAHF and is unwilling to work with any other editors. Jance 06:14, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I did add a comment on the talk page. Curtis continues to be self-righteous, condescending and insists on his own way (which is, I might add, ludicrous) and not one person will stand up to him. THAT is also ludicrous.Jance 06:33, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Sure. I am getting totally disgusted. Curtis has also gone to Barrett v. Rosenthal and changed it to add useless information that is not even legally accurate. He will continue to do this, to an extreme, until someone stops him. I'm done with it. Jance 07:01, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose. However, now that Ronz has backed down, and I will back down, Curtis will be free to trample even more. He does not strike me as anyone willing to collaborate. Has he removed his offending statements? Of course not. But to answer your question, sure I will, if you will stay involved with this, and not allow Curtis to run roughshod over me and othrs - including making edits as he has.Jance 08:19, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

- No,I dont expect you do. Because i have had a block in the past, it is acceptable for someone like Curtis to run roughshod over me, and over Ronz, and anyone else he chooses. I don't know what you have done, but it hasn't helped.Jance 09:03, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
