UEFA Futsal Euro Qualifying

Hey thanks for changing the own goals and penalties to include the links. Also, why do you remove the yellow and red cards? They can and do show a narrative without having to go to the link for the report. If you take that away then why have the goals or referee name because they can just go to the report? Just wondering. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seandreas (talkcontribs) 16:06, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

Consistency

Why would you expect a new standard to be implemented for this season when a different style has existed for every other season? You're right, it's not feasible to change every year going back to 1955, so do the simple thing and make the 2014-15 season article match everything else. It's not rocket science, it's consistency. And by the way, I've been editing here at least as long as you, so you should know me by now; please don't accuse me of being disruptive without cause. – PeeJay 17:59, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

If the new style is better, we should implement it on new pages without worrying about the old pages. We implement Module:Sports table. Do we have to implement it on every old football page? It is ridiculous to expect every similar page, especially when there are hundreds of them, to conform to one standard. If that is the case, nobody can pretty much edit articles because we can just point out another similar article that is not being edited that way. Chanheigeorge (talk) 18:04, 11 May 2015 (UTC)
I don't see how the new style is any better or worse, but for consistency's sake we should keep them all the same. If they are all going to be changed, that's fine, but since no one has any intention of changing the older ones, they should all be made to match for the time being. – PeeJay 18:35, 11 May 2015 (UTC)

Moldova and 2015-16 Europa League

Hi, I just saw that the second to last round (one round left) of 2014–15 Moldovan National Division was just played see soccerway and Dacia leads , 3 points ahead of Sheriff and Milsami with head-to-head as tiebreaker. Winner goes to CL and top4 will go to 2014–15 UEFA Europa League.

In my mind Sheriff has qualified for EL as they can not win league, but wanted a second opinion. This since they lose on head-to-head with dacia (they can max reach them) after Dacia-Sheriff 3-2, Sheriff-Dacia 1-2 and in extra round Dacia-Sheriff 0-0. If all three teams end of on same points they will also be after the other two teams. Since I am not sure I have not added them to EL but if you want and have time you can take a look. QED237 (talk) 17:14, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

I think your math is right, Sheriff Tiraspol are out of the league race and definitely the league's decisive match will be Milsami Orhei vs Dacia Chișinău. Sheriff can still be second if they do better than Milsami at the final matchday. So, to me it's obvious, Sheriff are in Europa League, either as runners-up, 3rd place, or cup winners (if they defeat Dacia on May 25). At the 2015–16 Europa League chart: 1st spot --> (CW/2nd), 2nd spot --> Sheriff (CW/2nd/3rd), 3rd spot --> Tiraspol (4th). The Replicator (talk) 21:44, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
Found a source. It's written in Romanian. Unimedia. I will update the 2015–16 Europa League chart. The Replicator (talk) 22:38, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
@The Replicator: As I said on my talkpage, my moldova language skill is not so good (non-existent), but I translated this article from sheriff official page with google translate and the article about todays match end "...but ultimately loses the chance of the title, as "Dacia" and " Milsami "won their games, which were held in parallel. In the next round the two teams will play in person meeting between a title." and earlier also it states "but still have to lay down their championship credentials.". User:Maticsg1, do you understand moldovan, is this correct that they are not able to be first in league? In my math the would lose a 3way-tie which is the only way they can get same points as Dacia (because they meet Milsami also 3pts behind Dacia). QED237 (talk) 22:59, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

Also I write here, what I have said earlier, I dont think we should write (CW/2nd) if there is no team in front it sound like we dont know who will get the spot. If there is a team in front of it we can write CW/2nd because then we say that team can win cup and be second but I would like to leave CW alone if there are no team. What do you say about that? QED237 (talk) 23:02, 15 May 2015 (UTC)

That discussion I will open at article talkpage. QED237 (talk) 23:03, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
@Qed237: Okay, I will answer there. The Replicator (talk) 23:07, 15 May 2015 (UTC)
@Qed237: No I don't speak Romanian, I translated the part about positioning from Moldovan League Regulations with Google Translate, but for once it gives a pretty straightforward translate (so I have no doubts that what I wrote on your Talk page is correct). So yeah, your math is right, Sheriff can't win the league. Maticsg1 (talk) 04:22, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

Seeding Champions League and Europa League

Hi, I write to you as one of the main contributors to 2014–15 UEFA Champions League and 2014–15 UEFA Europa League.

Seeding of Champions League has been discussed at Talk:2014–15 UEFA Champions League#Seeding and there we determined to not add seeding until all teams decided. That is why seedings added by several users has been reverted. But on Saturday, after 2015 UEFA Champions League Final we know all coefficients, and on Sunday the last teams will be decided. For that reason I have started to prepare the seeding, which can be seen at User:Qed237/sandbox#Seeding Champions League and User:Qed237/sandbox#Seeding Europa League. I have checked and double-checked the numbers and will triple-check on Sunday so it can be added correctly before all IP's and other editors start editing.

I thought I should inform you so that several editors dont to the work that has already been done. If you see any errors feel free to correct my sandbox or ask let me know something might be wrong so we can look at it together. Qed237 (talk) 16:48, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Also I would like to add that on my laptop (slightly smaller screen) I get some linebreaks becase txt get to long with "Coeff." so I am considering changing back to "CC" like last season. We can always have a note if editors dont understand what CC means. What do you think? Qed237 (talk) 13:53, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Actually if we write that "for every qualified team below, its UEFA club coefficient is listed in italics", we can probably just skip any notation. Chanheigeorge (talk) 16:06, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Someone protested at my talkpage and I think we need something but CC is enough and we can add a note to explain what it means, I will fix it later. Qed237 (talk) 22:41, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Champions league and Europa League

Hi, UEFA has released the accesslist and draws for first and second qualifying rounds. I am planning on updating "2015-16 UEFA Champions League qualifying phase and playoff" (and the same for EL) now as we have the info and draw is in a few days. The pages are currently redirects. Thought you should know so that both of us dont do the same work. If you have already started let me know so I dont do work that has already been done. Qed237 (talk) 13:08, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks. To bad they dont count as "pages created" as someone created them as redirect a year ago. I dont like those kind of creations. Anyway I saw that the accesslist from UEFA has some issues, for example they wrote Atromitos 10.880 but in their own coefficient list, Kassiesa coefficient list and Kassiesa Seeding article all have 10.380. And it was the same for two other teams. Probably just a typo that they will correct and it soes not afect any seeding or anything. Qed237 (talk) 13:39, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

I just wanted to ask you when you think it is time to create the articles for 2017/18 CL and EL. I have been working with the upcoming CL and EL a lot now and it feel like I am "in the flow" so I could create them so that they get properly created and not like "stumps" by an other editor, but I dont want to do it to soon. We already have the rules and what teams will enter what round (subject to change in nation ranking) since it is the same accesslist and rules as this season being in the same cycle. Also kassiesa has the nationrank started for this season which will be used for 2017/18 and in two weeks some nation could be eliminated and have their coefficient set. During late fall/autumn, I think some of the league articles will be created also that has links to this UEFA season, for example 2016 Allsvenskan will be created towards the end of 2015 Allsvenskan in September/October when teams qualify for next season. By creating the CL and EL article this would not cause redlinks to those articles. Do you think it is to soon? Qed237 (talk) 14:14, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

I dont have to include every part. Compare to this diff from one of your edit at the start of 2016/17 article, the lists of leagues can be removed (remove everything from header "Qualifying rounds" and down). Those bulleted lists can be added later when more info is known. We could have a article with Association team allocation section and how teams will be distrubuted depending on nation ranking. Qed237 (talk) 15:14, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Okay I can understand your view, maybe I will wait a few weeks and then check in with WT:FOOTY to see if anyone would oppose such article. Qed237 (talk) 15:48, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2017 UEFA Europa League Final, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://digplanet.com/wiki/2017_UEFA_Champions_League_Final.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Hello, Chanheigeorge. You've been told in the past that it's okay to copy information from one Wikipedia page to another, but that you must acknowledge that copying. This is not just a suggestion; it is a legal requirement of using content from other pages. The instructions for repairing this problem are at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Please resolve the copying issue by providing attribution to the source article as per those instructions. If you need help, let me know, and I will be happy to talk to you further about how and why this is done. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:31, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
I see that you are editing, but you have neither responded to my note nor fixed this problem.
I need to be sure you are aware that this is a copyright violation, and that copyright violations are against a core policy on Wikipedia. They can lead to the deletion of content or the blocking of your account.
This is an easily fixable problem, and I am happy to help you learn how to fix the problem you've created and how to avoid creating more, but if you do not engage with me I will have to take administrative action. I would much rather we just deal with the issue so that you stop creating copyright violations and can help contribute to Wikipedia. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:02, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for stopping to talk.

There are copyright violations going on here somewhere, and I need to be sure that these are fixed. Wikipedia's content is not public domain; it cannot be moved from page to page without attribution. If you are copying content from one Wikipedia article to another, you need to provide attribution to the article from which you've taken text. Even when you are working on articles in a sporting series, where the leads will be identical, you can only copy from one article to another if you are the sole author of the original article.

You seem to be working to standardize sports articles, and this is fine, but content in 2017 UEFA Europa League Final is identical to content in 2017 UEFA Champions League Final and the attribution chain is broken. If the content in those articles was copied from other articles in the series, it's important to identify the article which you used for the text. And if the content was elsewhere in the series before it arrived in 2017 UEFA Champions League Final, then the editor who created that article needs to be alerted to the issue so that that one can be repaired as well. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:19, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

The problem is not in the copying; it's in the copying without attribution. :)
Attribution is supplied at minimum by a link in an edit summary when the content is copied - all it takes is to say something like "Text copied from Article name" (where the "article name" is a direct link). If text is copied without that edit summary, it can be added later, but must be added at some point, if you are not the sole author of content. This is required to comply with our Terms of Use. Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia talks more about how and why.
To meet local guideline, a note should be placed on the page as well. {{Copied}} is available for this purpose. I do not use the talk page note when copying is minimal myself, but it is helpful.
Can you please provide the attribution on the articles you've created that include text from others? I will talk to the person who created 2017 UEFA Champions League Final about the legal mandates there, and as it is likely to be their first encounter will help them with it. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:35, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. :) I have taken care of notifying the other editor and fixing the issue he created. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:52, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

2015 CONCACAF Women's U-20 Championship qualification

From looking around it seems that the Jamaica/St Lucia match will not be made up (Jamaica went home the next day). I have seen it mentioned that both teams will be given a point for the match, but I can't find any official confirmation anywhere. I will keep looking. Equineducklings (talk) 14:05, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of 2015 OFC U-20 Women's Championship, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: 2015 OFC U-20 Women's Championship. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

Table positions

Hi, there is currently a discussion that might be of interest to you at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Team positions in team tables, since you have been updating such articles.

Basically it is if we should display teams on same position if they have the same points and tiebreakers, during the tournament and before. For example

Alternative 1: 1) CHI 2) COL; 3) ECU, 4) URU, 5) PAR; 6) VEN; 7) ARG, 8) BOL; 9) BRA; 10) PER. Alternative 2: 1) CHI 1) COL; 1) ECU, 1) URU, 5) PAR; 6) VEN; 7) ARG, 7) BOL; 7) BRA; 7) PER.

The exampel is for Template:2018 FIFA World Cup qualification – CONMEBOL table where 4 of the teams won 2-0 and they have exact same tiebreaker.

So should they all be listed at same position and should we list all teams at same position before any match is played? Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Team positions in team tables. Qed237 (talk) 13:06, 9 October 2015 (UTC)

As you can clearly see, it was definitely Babunski who scored the goal, and who got the ball back from Angelov. Bardhi went into totally different direction.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Syrian Cup

Can you create more seasons in Syrian Cup ? Thank you !--Alexiulian25 (talk) 03:11, 29 November 2015 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2016 AFC Cup knock-out stage, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://digplanet.com/wiki/2015_AFC_Cup_knock-out_stage.

(If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)
