Hey
Thanks your your advice. I would argue it was a test page though as his attempt was to create a guideline for a game he made up, and so it was nonsense as it had nothing to back it up as it was irrelevant to actuall games. Sopher99 (talk) 13:44, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Please take another look
You recently voted in a Articles for Deletion debate regarding the Staff Nurse Ella Kate Cooke article. Since your vote, I have completely re-worked the article and added reliable sources to it. In light of this, could you please reword your vote as a response that relates to the re-worked article (whether that be Keep or Delete)? SilverserenC 01:22, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
WOW! Thanks for letting me know
I didn't even know there was such a list regarding edits made! Funny I was the last one on the list. I saw lots of userboxes at the bottom of that list page. Do you know how to make and/or adject one of them? I only ask because I've uploaded over 600 photos to Wikimedia Commons -anyone can check-- but also, the main reason I appreciate things like Barnstars and now, this cool thing is that often as a wikignome/wikifairy working on unreferenced articles, "I can't get no respect"! Having userboxes and barnstars on my page make new users pause and re-consider before leaving snarky messages on my talk page! could you help make them for me, or find someone else who can? It would help a lot. Thanks! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:01, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Again, thanks. Though I love the "infobox barnstar" idea, and will probably adapt to them in the near future, I'm happy just to have that userbox of over 600+ photos uploaded to Commons since all but a small percentage involved writing photographers to see if they were at all interested, then explaining what Creative Commons is, and all that stuff, (giving up their copyright for very little personal recognition) and still hope they'll allow their photos on Wikipedia. I feel like the used car salesman of the digital age!! Thanks for all your wonderful help!! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 16:38, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Kenneth Kim
Just a note to let you know I declined your speedy deletion on this article; I see little, if any, promotional material on this article; G11 is only for articles where it is purely promotional and requires a fundamental rewrite to become encyclopaedic. If you have concerns about specific portions of the article, you could remove or rewrite those sections as being promotional, and/or add a neutrality maintenance template to the article. In addition, remember that speedy deletion criteria are only for uncontroversial deletion; bear in mind that this article has already been taken to AfD and the result was no consensus. It should only be deleted as a result of a new AfD discussion. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 20:59, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Why did you mark my article for speedy deletion? Sautner is an Austrian writer, he already published three novels, whose topics are the Yeniche people. There is nothing comparable in Austrian or German literature. In addition, with three novels, Sautner fulfills the notability criteria, doesn't he? Please explain or/and withdraw your request. Thank you. --Torsten Wittmann (talk) 12:49, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Category?
Hi, I need to know if you (or someone you know here) could start a Category here for people who play the Weissenborn? Here is a page full of names of people who perform on the instrument, but it's listed as something different entirely at the bottom of the screeen. [1] It's about the company that manufactures it for only a paragraph] The rest is a list of accomplished players is enough, that I can't believe there isn't a Category for it. We have Categories for every other instrument almost.. even one for slide guitarists.. Can this be done? --Leahtwosaints (talk) 17:24, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
- THANKS! You know my focus in all of Wikipedia (with a minor exception of architecture), has been music and the biographies of musicians. From there, I prefer to focus on musicians who have had a major impact on society. Within THAT, my interest is usually the guitarists, since I play, and slide guitarists in particular; thus my interest in Lowell George (founder of Little Feat)-- who I knew for two short years before he died-- I was just about to turn 18 when that occured, and) it's the reason I do not edit his article, because of the temptation to add real but unsourced info from personal experience or issues like WP:OWN. My mom played slide; I wasn't too good at it, but watching Lowell and Paul Barrere play, it sunk into me, you know? So it should be no wonder that I edit Mick Taylor, a bit, and really want to see Derek Trucks (and his bands-- The Derek Trucks Band and the slide guitarist Duane Allman- led Allman Brothers Band), Rory Gallagher, and others-- Sonny Landreth, etc. covered. The artist on the weissenborn --which is after all, played like a dobro or steel guitar with the slide, is Ben Harper. Check him out!! Here are a couple of videos that showcase his singing and playing-- the first two with Harper are honoring Bruce Springsteen seated next to the President,--both songs are by Springsteen here (the 2nd one with the weissenborn for charity) and then a funky cover of a Bill Withers song! He does some great stuff of his own, too.
- Ben Harper & Jennifer Nettles @ Kennedy Honors 2009,
- Ben Harper with the weissenborn, at the Kennedy Center honors, and
- "Use Me" at Abbey Road Studios Of the three, the first shows his voice, the 2nd, his weissenborn and interpretation of Springsteen's song, and the last, his guitar and vocals. Hope you do check them up, they are each a treat to an open mind!! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 21:26, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Can you help me to archive my talk page?!!
I just don't get it. I was trying to cut off everything in my talk page and put everything up until January 2010 into the next archive. Somehow, I just screw it up. It would be my 5th talk page archive, and then, if possible, archive everything from January 2010 to July 2010 also in a talk page number 6. AAAAAH!!!!! It's driving me insane; now I've created some godawful page in trying to do so (see my contribs cause I don't want all of that floating around someplace,) and don't even know how to revert the f*cking thing. Please help me.
Also, on another note, how can I merge and connect all my contribs on this page? Does it include all the stuff I do on other-language Wikipedias? : [2] --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:30, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Celts Talk
Hi Catfish Jim - in case you missed it, a user has posted what they claim is info on your RL identity on the Celts talk page. Nothing serious, but you might want to take a look. Gabhala (talk) 21:42, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Wow. Just looking at tonight, that's slightly worrying. Perhaps a Checkuser is more warranted than I first thought... Tonight's reverts on your edits, if related, makes an 11th sock, by my reckoning... Is this serious enough for a Checkuser? Gabhala (talk) 21:56, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- ...and then there was 17. I'll draw up (formally) the evidence list over the next few days and put in a request. Gabhala (talk) 22:22, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- our friend seems to be experimenting, and getting a little bolder each week. I'll let you know how it goes. Gabhala (talk) 23:06, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- It would appear our chat hasn't gone unnoticed - my recent edits just got the same treatment. There's been a sockpuppet case raised against the users involved. I wonder if that's the best platform to raise the bigger issue? Gabhala (talk) 18:09, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I'm inclined to let it sit for now, and see what plays out on the investigation page. I'm not sure if it would be constructive to add the list of ten puppets I have identified at this stage, so I'm inclined to leave that decision to the investigating admin(s). If they don't want to include it, then I'll go ahead and request a separate investigation in a few days, as planned. The recent comments on the Celts talk page mentioning me seem to confirm my suspicions regarding at least one of the users. Gabhala (talk) 19:21, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
- I've passed the list of the other names I had on my list to the admin who ran the Checklist. It also turns out that one of the names on my list, along with three other suspected socks had been stalking The Ogre. I just wonder how many more socks this guy has? User_talk:Flokkaw#Question
There was also this person who seems to have gone through your recent edit history and undone many of your edits, without regard to what they were. Some of them are possibly good changes, though I don't think the edit summary he used (always "OR") was appropriate. I don't know if any of these last three incidents are related or if you just have developed a lot of enemies. —Soap— 16:58, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

There is a list at Wikipedia:Editing restrictions of "all" users under topic bans and interaction bans of any kind, but I wouldn't take it for granted that everyone who should be listed there already is. There's also Wikipedia:List of banned users, but that lists people who've been banned completely. —Soap— 17:57, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Template:Perth & Kinross Towns & Villages
Hi. Thanks for creating this template. I was wondering though whether or not it might be a bit big. This is two historic sheriffdoms incorporating 5 or so counties. Maybe separate templates for Kinross/Fothriff, Strathearn, Gowrie, Stormont (maybe Gowrie and Stormont), Atholl, and Breadalbane ... or at least separate rows (as in Template:Aberdeenshire places)? All the best, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:39, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- I noticed that the old Topographical, Statistical, and Historical Gazetteer of Scotland divides the county of Perth into: Perth, Stormont, Strathearn, Atholl, Breadalbane, Menteith, Glenshiel, Rannoch and Balquidder.[4][5] Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 14:44, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

More Scottish contribution to Halloween
New user Catfish and found your name on Scotland WikiProject. The Halloween page is being revamped and it needs input from Scottish users on discussion as its too North American centric right now. Getting more Scots input where Halloween was first celebrated, and guising, would give a balanced global overview of the holiday and its customs.ColinBurchill (talk) 18:56, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hello Jim, is anyone able to assist on Halloween discussion? A recent U.S. user stated to another user; "You've been making various assertions about the nature and origin of Halloween, but here you say you are not clear on the "role the Scots play in Halloween"? An understanding of the formation of the idea of Halloween in Scotland is necessary to understand what it became in the USA". Scotland has played a huge part in the history of Halloween and it needs Scottish contributors to give a true overview of it. Can you help please?. Need a little help..
I have been uploading a LOT of photos --one guy in Germany was kind enough to offer his entire extensive collection. Anyway, some are really needed since it's doubtful there'll be any more of these artists that'll be free images to upload to Commons. The problem is that I can't slice and trim some of the photos- we CAN do it; the license alone gives us clear sailing, but a handful of them can be trimmed and fit into an infobox. They'd have to be "sliced and diced" (haha) to just have one person in the infobox about each person. Would you be willing to trim any photos? I can't because A) I'm computer-ignorant. B) can't on this computer and would screw it up anyhow I think. There was another editor on en.wikipedia --User:Suede67 but it appears he's been M.I.A. for some time.. suddenly he just disappeared! He and I used to trade little tasks with one another. Ah well- If I give you the location of the photos and what needs done, would you be willing to help trim them? I have the photographer's blessing, even. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 19:24, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks! Offhand, there's a photo of Rory Gallagher's band while it included bassist Gerry McAvoy and drummer, Rod de'Ath. Rod de'Ath has no photo on his biography page.. there are a couple band shots I uploaded to Commons with the hope that you can trim down at least one so it only shows the drummer in question. The photos are here:[6], and [7]. Whatever fits best in an infobox for Rod would really be great! (You might notice I misspelled his name on both photos, but that is my fault. The correct spelling of the name is the one on the stub in Wikipedia. thank you! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 18:01, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- AMAZING JOB!! Thanks!! There are few photos of Rod de'Ath around, and you really came through! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:57, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Note advice
I noted your comment here and moved the ref's into the external links section, as they were surplus to requirements anyhow and are covered by the other sources regardless. Obviously your right, it was covered in national papers considering the circumstances, really goes without saying. Thanks --Domer48'fenian' 21:38, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- Lots of stuff is reported in the news, however individuals need to have enduring significance to have articles so news reports from the time simply won't cut it I'm afraid. Valenciano (talk) 02:40, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- It depends entirely on the scope and quality of the report. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 09:49, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
- While I agree with you, it now appears that regardless of the scope and quality, it is still not good enough.--Domer48'fenian' 16:36, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Catfish Jim, we seem to have covered all the points raised during your GA review of the Wales article (would you mind confirming if that is correct). The exception, of course, is the introduction. We have a suggested lead here: User:Daicaregos/sandbox, and have (just) advertised on the Talkpage for any suggestions, amendments or improvements to it. Would it be possible to extend the review hold to allow editor feedback for what is, actually, quite a big change? If so, I would also like to advertise on the WP:WWNB to try to gain as much consensus as possible, which could help maintain article stability. A further seven days would be much appreciated. Please let me know if that would be OK. Thanks, Daicaregos (talk) 10:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for confirming that all the outstanding issues have been addressed. Also, I am more than delighted the suggested introduction would be approved. I would still like to wait for editor approval of the lead before we complete the review, if that's OK. I don't want to be seen to be railroading "my version". I am conscious that any changes made to a GA approved version would not, strictly, be a GA. Would an extension to the review deadline be possible? If so, I will advertise on the WP:WWNB. Thanks, Daicaregos (talk) 15:25, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for taking the time and trouble to review the Wales article. I can only imagine what a major undertaking it would have been to review an article of such a broad scope. More photo stuff-- and possibly more coming
Hey- we don't have more than one photo that shows John Illsley of Dire Straits. If possible, it would be great to lighten this photo (he's the one on the left) and crop it, so there's a visible photo of him to add to his biography article text: [8] Hate to dump things on you-- if it is doable, it would really help! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:20, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
More thankless drivel
I'm so sorry to bug you! I know only a handful of editors on Wikipedia, but only 2-3 of you are good at these things. First, is there any hope for this photo (with your exceptional talents) towards showing George Duke in his own infobox: [9] ?? Right now, it's all we have, and I think it beats what is on his page now. I suppose I'll have to go trolling for his picture, even so. Also, my list of musician-photo uploads got so big I made a special page for the list. Would you be interested in interior decorating my userpage so that the list, (which has the link right above the little photo gallery there) can be seen more easily? Kind of like, "click on this object to find a list of upload names" (you can pick the object, I don't care). ?? It would help. Tell me if I'm pushing you too much, OK? thanks. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 05:48, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
DYK for Woodwrae Stone
On 10 December 2010, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Woodwrae Stone, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that when the foundations of an old Scottish castle in Angus were cleared in 1819, a floor slab in the castle's kitchen was found to be a Pictish stone, the Woodwrae Stone (pictured)? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Back to begging and groveling for your help!
There are a few photos that I, or someone else uploaded to Wikimedia Commons that still have "watermarks" on them. Do you know how to remove them? They are here: [10], here: [11], and here: [12] There's an additional problem with the last one. I don't know what I was thinking, but the file name has her as "Belinda Carlilei", when her true name is Brandi Carlile!
Can you help with either of these problems (or both?) I just can't believe I screwed up so bad!! Thanks! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:06, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:24, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Heads up
Thanks for the heads up. John Hendo (talk) 13:27, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
I changed my mind?!
Those really pretty userboxes you made for me from the barnstars I had, that you placed on my talk page are still there, and (whenever you have time), I think I'd like to change my mind and have you place them on my userpage instead of those giant monstrosities that are there now. I'm so computer ignorant, it isn't funny! Any changes you would like to make to my Userpage, sandboxes, whatever-- you have my complete permission to change! You are so appreciated! :) --Leahtwosaints (talk) 00:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- You're a natural!! Feel free! Possibly I'll get rid of the lengthy discussion about what I do.. but you are a true Prince! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:49, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
