Massive changes

[edit]

You need to go to the talk talk page and explain what you are trying to do. As a new account editing in a controversial area, and clearly familiar with WP editing, you will inevitably arouse suspicions of being a WP:SOCKPUPPET, and need to allay these. Johnbod (talk) 14:57, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Hi, I nearly reverted you changes, as you didn't quote a reliable source. Also, please consider re-factoring your earlier contributions to that article to remove editorial commentary such as "It is important to note". Please see WP:editorial. Jschnur (talk) 23:56, 28 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Where to explain?

[edit]

I added a bit giving context and explaining what a blakc legend is-in regards to the inquisition- and how it operates because I have noticed that most people don´t fully understand this and assume that saying "blakc legend" means "made up" (which it doesn´t, it means deformed and taken out of context, that is why I introduced some context). However I am not sure that I placed it in the best spot. For now it is under the introduction. Do you think it should haveits own section? One for the "what is a blakc legend?" and/or one for "context"?

La Malinche

[edit]

In your edit, I notice the word "revoqued'. You might want to sanity check that.

Aside from that, another (anonymous) editor just added a comment about Malinali being a sex slave while owned by Tabscoob. I hadn't heard that before, would you know where that comment originates? Regards, Tarl N. (discuss) 05:56, 22 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Sure. I should add "allegued", since it´s not a confirmed fact but part of a reconstruction some historians make based on "why else would warriors be given large numbers of especifically young cute female slaves". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cateyed (talkcontribs) 06:02, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think you mean "alleged", and I wasn't looking for a justification, but a source.
That is, what historical document is this coming from? I was unaware of anything that detailed about her history before being given to Cortés' men. I'm concerned because it smacks of current revisionism, the term "sex slave" is very specific and unlikely to have been even discussed in the 1500s. All slaves lack control over their sexual lives, but the closest that era had to the concept of someone owned specifically for sexual activity, was concubine - and while that term has been used to describe her relationship to Cortés, I don't recall seeing such suggested for her period as a Mayan slave. Tarl N. (discuss) 06:41, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I added the source.

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Isabel Moctezuma, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mexicanism (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Hi, nice work on the article, I'm going to do a bit of copy editing but you want to check and make sure no meaning has been lost. A few more references would be useful to establish notability.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Categories and articles

[edit]

Hello, Cateyed,

Just a reminder that content goes on article pages and categories are used to organize pages and rarely have content unless it is a brief explanation of the contents of the category. Empty categories, that are not being used, are deleted. Liz Read! Talk! 01:58, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Myxomatosis page

[edit]
Hi Cateyed, thanks for your added information on the Europe section on the Myxomatosis page. Your reference to "Natura nº 14, May, 1984" however is not done in the correct format, and I cannot find information online to correct it. If you have a link to this article or it's DOI number please include it here and I can fix the reference for you. If not then please see how to create references here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Help:Referencing_for_beginners . You need to add the name of the article and the author at the very least. As for the information about Spain, [and in Spain by 95%, driving hyperespecialized Iberian rabbit predators, like the Iberian Lynx or the Spanish imperial eagle, to the brick of extintion. As well as decreasing the wild rabbit population and the population of it´s natural predators] you have not provided a reference at all. Without a reference this information will have to be removed. Thank you, Rabbit Vet (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:33, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also please proofread and spell check before posting. You have multiple spelling errors. Rabbit Vet (talk) 20:41, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! and sorry about the spelling. Thanks for taking the time to fix it. I´ll read the citations again. Here is the magazine in question: https://www.todocoleccion.net/coleccionismo-revistas-periodicos/revista-natura-n-14-mayo-1984-leer-descripcion~x21550256

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Caballerooc.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 22:13, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Black Legend

[edit]

Hi Cateyed, I've deleted a paragraph of your work from this page. I think it is probably pertinent but the English doesn't really make sense and therefore the meaning is unclear. If you want, I'd be happy to discuss ways of rephrasing the text so we can include the content. It's included below:

As she defines the traits common to all black legends affecting all empires, and the common claims they make about all this different political entities, she points at the beginning stages of a black legend regarding United Estates of America that would follow a similar pattern to that of other empires.

All the best, hope you are well. Boynamedsue (talk) 16:21, 15 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
