Is this external link enough for Draft:University of Niš Faculty of Electronic Engineering? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Budecko (talk • contribs) 22:05, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Budecko Good day. The source you provide is not a independent source as it is associated with the subject. For it is usually considered not notable subject for a Faculty of an university and would not be acceptable to Wikipedia mainspace. Suggest to add info to the University of Niš. Cheers. Hey CASSIOPEIA, I would like to become a new page reviewer so in order to gain more experience I would like to start a NPP course with you. I approached Barkeep49 but he said he had no slots open and recommended me to you as you have many open slots.Andrew Base (talk) 18:00, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- Andrew Base Greeting. I believe you not done any review or is a reveiwer either via NPP or AfC. Pls let me know you knowledge of reviewing pages in Wikipedia. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:31, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: I am not a new page reviewer on wikipedia. I do a lot of counter vandalism work and have experience in CSD tagging and recently I nominated an article for AFD which was deleted. So I think I need some training in order to gain more experience.Andrew Base (talk) 11:38, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

Belgian footballers in the Netherlands
Hi, I created that page on the same style of List of Brazilian footballers in Serie A because of space reasons: I created this page to reduce the bytes of the page List of foreign football players in the Netherlands. --Valentinenba97 (msg) 3:15, 24 set 2019 (UTC)
Regarding article Sacha Nemcov
Hello Cassiopeia, I just wanted to tell you that an article Sacha Nemcov, that I found over Wikipedia doesn't seem befitting to Wikipedia guidelines. I tried to move it to Draft space, so that it goes through AFC. But someone reverted my edits and moved it back to article space. I thought of letting you know about this and get some suggestions on what to do in these circumstances. Thank you, AbhiMukh97(Speak)(Contribs) 04:40, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi AbhiMukh97 gooday. see below
- A. General info - Confirmed editors are allow to move page. However, all paid editors must submit their article via AfC and disclose their WP:PAID on their user page and article talk page in regardless how long they have been editing in Wikipedia. For new editors even if they are a confirmed editors, we always encourage them to create the 1st article via AfC so we the reviewers can comment on draft if it is declined (a communication can be established; however they can choose to write their article via newpage instead. If an article in new page with sourced content (source not their official sites or user generated sites such as fb, LinkedIn, associated sport clubs, far from sufficiently developed or sourced - a few source but not not reliable at all, we will leave them in newpage and not moving them to draft. (Some, not all newpage reviewer has different tool/script to move the page to draft space). If a new page /or any article in main space does not seem to pass the notability guidelines, we can either 1. Propose for deletion (PROP), especially BLP new article without sources 2. Nominate for deletion (AfD) 3. Merge - to other associated article 4. Redirect to other article 5.Suggest to send to draft space if the subject is promising. Do note for AfD, the nominator needs to do a WP:BEFORE first and check the general notability and specific notability /sport specific notability guidelines).
- B. Sacha Nemcov - Although sources are not from the major newspapers, they are independent and multiple as well. If the article would send to AfD, that would be a good mixed views in my opinion.
- C. Editors involved - editor SP seems familiar on navigate/using Wikipedia as for a new user and it is create after the creator of this said page. It has a little tail tail sign of SOCK which you have reported. You need to elaborate more on the report of your finding to ease Admin investigation time/effort (provide reasons and hist diff).
- Hope the above help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:24, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying the confusion. I think I should enroll myself for new page reviewer school, to gain some experience regarding these. What do you think? Again, thanks for the elaboration.AbhiMukh97(alt) (talk) 15:01, 18 September 2019 (UTC)
- Hi AbhiMukh97, see additional blue text above. Page review is a big and important part of Wikipedia project as Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and what we provide is content/article to viewers. Each article either in New Page (NPP) or Article for Creation (AfC) would be reviewed by either a NPP Reviewer/Patroller or AfC Reviewer/Patroller before it is accepted in Wikipedia mainspace. Some reviewers have not been enrolled in WP:NPPSCHOOL before just like many vandal fighters have not been a student of CVUA. However, to participate in a program such of CVUA and NPPSHOOL would enrich your knowledge of the topic since the program covers a broad related sub topics with a help of a trainer, just as you have done in CVUA program, but page review is much more complex then counter vandalism. If you would like to join the NPP program then have a look at WP:NPPSCHOOL. To apply for patroller right for AfC - got to here and WP:PERM/NPR for NPP. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk)

Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings
This page (List of current UFC fighters) is over 400,000 bytes in size. Way too big! The rankings should be deleted here and people should be directed to Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings!— Preceding unsigned comment added by NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk • contribs) 16:10, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
- NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM Greetings. The list is a comprehensive info of the current UFC fighters and viewers/reader would get info in one page. The file is big not due to the ranking section which is only composed of names and some signs but it is due to the sources in the article (700+/-) where info need to be verify as per the content policy - see WP:PROVEIT, the 7K deletion from 400K is so small that it would not effect anything of reducing the file size. Secondly the ranking is linked to about 200 articles so removing it will cause problems. Lastly, The article is listed large file log in Wikipedia and regularly, editors will remove released fighters sections which is over one month old and reduce the sources info if they are shared in the files. Removing some old info is would be a better solution to reduce size but not the ranking section. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:04, 23 September 2019 (UTC)
- Just look at how small the scrollbar is on List of current UFC fighters. That page has more tables than IKEA! There is a serviceable page at Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings that <8% the size so it has a much quicker load time and less strain on RAM and CPU (important for mobile users!) People click on those links because they want to see the rankings, so direct them to the rankings page instead of a page with tonnes of tables unrelated to the rankings! NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk)
- NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM Greetings. Reader always can check other pages for ranking, there are two pages about UFC ranking, on in UFC and Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings. The current UFC ranking section section rightfully should be in List of current UFC fighters page, after all, it is the "current" ranking in "current UFC fighters page. Readers come to list of current UFC fighters page is to view everything of "current" info of UFC fighters. IF they want to see individual fighter pages, individual event pages, list of all UFC event, year in UFC, ranking, UFC records, champions, hall of fame, bonuses and awards could be found in Wikipedia. You dont need to come to list of UFC fighter page to view ranking. Thank you.00:30, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have begun directing people to Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings instead of List of current UFC fighters. I will not delete the rankings at List of current UFC fighters again but I think people should be directed straight to the rankings page when rankings are discussed. Thank you for the candour! NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 15:34, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM I saw and thanks for informing. Since you want to relink, then please note and do the necessary (1) Kindly update the ranking weekly/after every event on the Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings page (including every weight division and not only P4P section only) so all the rankings are reflected accordingly. UFC will update the rankings the following late Monday/early Tuesday (U.S date/time) after an event is held. (2) Do place "Update as per xxxx date/year" after "xxxx event name" on UFC rankings page after you have done the update/edits. (3) Pls provide inline citation (source from UFC page) at the end of (2) above. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:26, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have finished directing people to the Ultimate Fighting Championship rankings page! I was watching a movie whilst editing, so I may have made a mistake or two along the way, but I doubt it as it was a simple copy-paste job. I have been doing a lot of wiki editing recently so I should be able to update the rankings page after each UFC event, unless my work and personal life becomes too busy of course. Cheers! NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM (talk) 19:34, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- NICHOLAS NEEDLEHAM, Thank you for informing and I saw your edits. Happy editing. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:54, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
Help needed
Hi, I need help on editing the adele article? Can you assist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeybwong79 (talk • contribs) 15:15, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Joeybwong79, Good day. Your edit was reverted by Fylindfotberserk as indicated in the edit summary twice because the info you added was unsouced, for such we can verify the info added. As mentioned in WP:PROVEIT - "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution.". In addition, it is not all sourced need to be added into the article for we would weight the importance and relevant of the info in associated of the subject. You need to find source, such as from newspapers to support your claimed and pls see referencing on how to provide inline citation. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk)

- Terenz Dongon, Greetings. Thank you for interested in counter vandalism. Pls have a look the "Goals" and "Syllabus" sections below to understand the requirements needed at the end of the course in order to graduate from CVSCHOOL.
Goals
If you're new and/or inexperienced, before embarking on a Counter-Vandalism training programme, you should be able to demonstrate that you have already mastered the basic principles of editing the encyclopedia and contributed at least 200 edits to MAINSPACE. If you have previously been warned or requested to follow guidelines, you should have demonstrated that you have addressed these issues.
When you have shown through training that you have mastered the principles of Counter-Vandalism and can apply them with accuracy, and can communicate correctly and effectively with new users of all kinds you may be able to apply for permission to use restricted tools, such as, for example Rollback, and STiki that will enable you to semi-automate the process, while understanding that speed alone is not essential - the target is accuracy. When you have achieved these goals, you can display the {{User CVU0-en}} userbox on your user page.
Syllabus
Competency | Fail | Pass |
---|---|---|
Knowledge and Understanding of Concepts
Able to correctly define and describe:
|
|
|
Critical Thinking
Able to review historical reversions and identify whether such reversion were correctly categorized |
Correctly assessed fewer than 85% of the examples provided by their instructor. | Correctly assessed at least 85% of the examples provided by their instructor. |
Communication
Able to effectively communicate with other editors regarding reversions |
Communicates inconsistently with editors via talk page comments or in response to editors who question or challenge their reversions. | Communicates in a polite and professional manner and avoids biting other editors and harsh comments. |
Application
Effectively applies the concepts and tools of vandalism fighting in a productive and proficient manner. |
|
|
Please note that there are many editors who were interested in counter vandalism course and abundant the program mid way due to lack of anticipation of the amount of efforts/time needed in reading the program material, doing assigned "homework" and exams requirements . The program has no timeline set, as the editor would progress through the course work at their own time. Generally, it would take an editor 1.5-2 months to finish the course. So do prepare yourself for lots of reading and homework if you intend to proceed with the program and do let me know the reason for interested in this program. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~
). Cheers

About Primal - Draft:Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal
Thanks for moving Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal to a draft. But the premiere is coming up fast (like Sonic), so it's gotta get done before the 7th. Once again, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slavicanimefan2005 (talk • contribs) 11:55, 2 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Slavicanimefan2005 Good day. You need to provide significant coverage (at least 3 sources) of independent, reliable sources to support the content claimed for verification. Pls note that user generated site, facebook, IMBD, official web site, sources associated with the subject, press releases, interview and etc are considered "not independent" sources. Sources from major newspapers are good sources and sources can be in any languages. Pls see referencing on how to provide references/inline citation. Once you have done the above, then click the submission button for review. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:13, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

Draft:N180 highway (Philippines) patterned to N1 highway (Philippines)
Hi!
I noticed that the N180 highway article was moved to draft which I actually do not mind. Although given the premise, I think the N1 highway (Philippines) article which is also unreferenced must be moved to a draft due to the similar reason. Otherwise, I think the N180 article could be moved back to being a published article.
Thanks!
Korean Rail Fan 01:39, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Korean Rail Fan Good day. The Draft page is a new page, that is the reason why it is moved to draft page as of the other has been around for sometime. What you need to do is to add sources to support the content claimed. See referencing for info if you havent. For older article, we usually would normated for deletion if it doest not meet notability guideline. I am intend to do that as it is a Philippines highway, and there might be some source in Tagalog languages to support the content claimed which I would not able to source since I dont read Tagalog. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:04, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

A little help
Hi there CASSIOPEIA! I made a draft on a subject mentioned in mainstream reliable media as "noted philosopher". His books have been written about by Jean-Luc Nancy, Bernard Stiegler, Robert Bernasconi and many others. There exclusive articles on him reliable sources. Artists too have made works inspired by him. Will you please have a look and help improve it? https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Shaj_Mohan — Preceding unsigned comment added by WWorringer (talk • contribs) 19:08, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

- Dear CASSIOPEIA, Thank you so much. I submitted it for review now. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Shaj_Mohan I don't know how to find an image for the subject, cannot get his email. WWorringer (talk) 15:36, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi WWorringer, May I know are you in any way related/associated with the subject? CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:48, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hey CASSIOPEIA, thanks for getting back soon! No relation. In 2018 I was in audience for a lecture he gave at the Unesco in Paris. I wanted a selfie with him. He said he hates photographs. If that is a problem let me know.WWorringer (talk) 15:57, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi WWorringer, Done reviewed. I asked the question because if you know the subject personally either in relation as a friend/colleague/any affliation then you would have a conflict of interest (COI) and Wikipedia would need to to disclosure the COI and in your user page and article talk page. Since you just attending a lecture of him as an audience that would be ok just like I have attended Prince's concert and seeing him perform afar and with no relation with in any form at all but a fan then I dont have a COI if I write/edit his article in Wikipedia. Pls do not contact the subject to for photo, for you will have a COI if you do that. Thanks for your contribution.
- Dear CASSIOPEIA!! Thank you so much! I feel like a real Wikipedian now. Prince, wow! Often I find people comparing him with MJ because of ethnicity and the funk element. But on so many grounds they are so different. Prince had this confidence and he was never performing the character Prince, like Bowie. Then he was on this quest to invent these new kinds of chords and sounds. Lucky you! But meeting people we admire is amazing. I met Dave Mustaine once in London. He was very sweet and let me take a photo with him. Again, you are amazing! Have a great day WWorringer (talk) 16:25, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hi WWorringer, Two great guitarists indeed, but Mustaine is better technically. Cheers and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 16:32, 4 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I helped to improve the page by adding two sources. CarlSeederson (talk) 22:21, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- CarlSeederso, Greetings. Official website/home page/records/databases are not considered independent sources. Sources from newspapers are good source. Provide source for Liga Națională wins, European competitions Finalists: 1973, Third place: 1967, previous players and coachers. Also p pls provide sources that talk about the club. Sources can be in any languages and print sources are welcome. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:26, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
- Done now, it has now 2 newspapers sources plus a Romanian Handball Federation source (History of the Game with clubs and national teams, and notable players of the era). Everything is there. This club was the most prolific for 2 decades in Romania and finished 2nd and 3rd in European Champions Cup (actual EHF Women's Champions League).CarlSeederson (talk) 14:23, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

- CarlSeederson, Reviewed. The article just/barely meets the notability guidelines. I tried to find sources but just found game results and I dont read Balkan Romance language. I suggest you to find more sources and added them in to safeguard the page from nominated for deletion. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 14:31, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
- Well, you said sources in any language. Google Translator works perfect with Romanian. Not just Liga Națională (women's handball) tells they won the 10 Romanian championship (with Romanian Handball Federation sources) but also the Women's EHF Champions League (and here the sources are taken from the European Handball Federation. It's also easy to translate with Google the two Romanian newspapers (I did that). It's still a team of the 60s and the 70s, but it's highly notable. It meets criteria even for participating in the Romanian first division. But they also won medals internally and internationally. Handball hits whole Europe, the EHF Champions League is like the NBA league of basketball. I tried to help. Cheers also! CarlSeederson (talk) 14:25, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
- CarlSeederson, yes sources can be any languages, and I did read the translated sources. However, the European handball Federation is considered non independent sources as it is associated with the subject. if you can find print source (60's 70's) then added them in if possible. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:44, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

Latest tech news from the Wikimedia technical community. Please tell other users about these changes. Not all changes will affect you. Translations are available.
Recent changes
- The abuse filter function now has a faster parser. This is to shorten the waiting time when you save an edit. [3]
Problems
- There is a problem in the visual editor when you copy or delete text with footnotes. It will be fixed soon. [4]
Changes later this week
- The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 8 October. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 9 October. It will be on all wikis from 10 October (calendar).
Meetings
- You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 9 October at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The Community Wishlist Survey has a new format. It will focus on wikis that typically get less support. It will probably go back to the normal format next year. It is not decided exactly how it will work this year. You can leave feedback.
- The URL of the Wikimedia wiki main pages could be changed. This is because the current URLs cause several problems. For example
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Main_Page
would behttps://www.wikidata.org/
instead. You can tell the developers if this would cause problems for your wiki. - There is a new technical community newsletter. You can read more about the work of Wikimedia's technical community. Subscribe to get the information in the future.
- Outreachy is an internship program for groups who are underrepresented in free and open-source software. There are seven Wikimedia projects about coding, documentation and quality assurance in the next round. Persons who fit the criteria can apply. The last day to apply is 5 November.
