Ways to improve Hardberger Park

[edit]

Hi, I'm Tris1313. Casseb, thanks for creating Hardberger Park!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Thank you for your new page. While the "History" Category is helpful, the "Recreation and Features" and "Etiquette" sections suggest that the page has been written as an advertisement.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Tris1313 (talk) 04:12, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Vision 2015, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mean as custard (talk) 11:45, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Jury

[edit]

Hello, Casseb. The article Adam Jury, which you started, seems to be an exact copy of the page currently at Draft:Adam Jury. Did you intend to move the draft page back into mainspace, instead of creating a duplicate of the page? BOZ (talk) 20:41, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Nikolaj Grandjean, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.last.fm/music/Nikolaj+Grandjean/+wiki.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Ways to improve Apartment Finder

[edit]

Hi, I'm Lstanley1979. Casseb, thanks for creating Apartment Finder!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi Casseb - the article ideally should have some better third-party impartial sources in it. The NewsChannel10 link doesn't work and the wboy story seems to be a press release repeated verbatim. Could you add some more actual commentary on the site?

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. LS1979 (talk) 06:41, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Ann Rhodes (supercentenarian)

[edit]

Hi Casseb, I'm just leaving a message on your talk page to let you know that I speedily deleted the Mary Ann Rhodes (supercentenarian) by criteria G4, as Rhodes was deemed insufficiently notable for Wikipedia by consensus and a deletion debate and your new article did not address the concerns that were raised in the discussion. Unfortunately, unless more reliable sources can be found about her, she will have to remain redirected to List of Canadian supercentenarians. Feel free to respond here or on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Canadian Paul 19:46, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Hello Casseb, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Habib University has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page.

Copying articles from AFC

[edit]

Hi, I notice you've been copying a lot of articles from Articles for creation into mainspace and crediting yourself for their creation on your userpage. Please stop doing this--it's disruptive, because it doesn't properly attribute the authors as required by the CC BY-SA licence. You may join Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation if you like, but please no more copy-paste moves. I'm afraid these articles are going to be deleted from mainspace. -– Cathfolant (talk) 02:15, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Nama Karoo

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Nama Karoo. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Karoo. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Karoo – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ubiquity (talk) 15:28, 18 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Nama Karoo for deletion

[edit]

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Your draft article, User:Casseb/Panzer 88

[edit]

Hello, Casseb. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Panzer 88".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|User:Casseb/Panzer 88}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 20:16, 26 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for writing a very good article on this artist. I found it very interesting. I think other people would also find it interesting, and I would like to nominate it to appear in did you know on the main page, but it needs some more work first. I have tagged some statements that are unsourced and need citations, and one sentence that I found confusing. If you could provide sources for those asap I will nominate it for you. To be clear, it must be nominated within a week from when it was moved, so we only have until 6/15. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 17:14, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll get to work on that today. I didn't write the article completely, I just added some parts but I'll get to work trying to find some proper sources and cite them. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Casseb (talk) 17:20, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First time submission

[edit]

Hello all,

I hope you are well? I was recently approached by my client to make a wikipedia page for him. He is a well known model and singer who is struggling a bit due to slight problems with his agencies and miscommunication. I have never made a page before and tried to understand how to but am rather confused and anxious. I would appreciate it if someone could please give me a few simplistic pointers... Bandit1995 (talk) 21:05, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I could help you out. Just leave me a link to the page you are creating if you have already started it and I can help you by adding infoboxes, or organizing the information you collect. Just remember - the key is sources and references. Without these, Wikipedia wouldn't be trusted. Thanks! Casseb (talk) 23:51, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:26, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:WikiProject United States/The 50,000 Challenge

Ways to improve Anne Hall

[edit]

Hello, Casseb,

Thanks for creating Anne Hall! I edit here too, under the username Britishfinance and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Good article - well done. There are some good references here but for a BLP would like to see more in-line referencing (e.g. each sentance), and ideally referencing from pure third party sources (e.g. major newspapers), as opposed to US department sources. However, good job!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Britishfinance}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.
