Requesting an unbiased vote

[edit]

Hi,
Your unbiased vote is requested here.

Thanks. —usernamekiran[talk] 20:32, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

For the content that I have added, the source is the reference no.2 (The legend of roasted chicken Wichian Buri) If I merge the cited content into Wichian Buri District, will Wikipedia accepted my work? I need Wikipedia to accept my work in order to get working points from my English subject teacher. Bjj dev (talk) 19:15, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I added the source.
Sure, go ahead. I would add the section before the References section and call it Wichian Buri Grilled Chicken and then no subsections under that. Let me make a couple of edits first. One sec.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:19, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bjj dev, Ok, see what you think. If you like that, just the body of the article is moved (nothing from references down and not the deletion tag). And the bold with three apostrophes (''') should be removed in both places.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:25, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Bjj dev, Maybe I overworked this for you. Another idea is to draft summary language for kai yang, perhaps that would be a good, new addition. If you have cited content, it should be good. I am happy to help, if you'd like.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:08, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Today, i have discussed with my teacher and he told me that it might be better to merge with Wichian buri district article. So, I can just copy the paragraph of Grilled chicken of wichian buri and paste it in the Wichian Buri district and create sub-heading before the reference? I'm really sorry for making a lot of trouble lately but I really do not familiar with wikipedia and it's my first time creating the article and it quite difficult for me to understand progress of the wikipedia. :( Bjj dev (talk) 07:21, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you just need to
  • copy over the content + citations to just before the "References" section (the last section)
  • add a section heading
  • change Grilled Chicken of Wichian Buri ('''Grilled Chicken of Wichian Buri''') to Grilled Chicken of Wichian Buri
and you should be good. I'll double-check, though.08:58, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

I have already added all the content and citations into Wichian Buri District article and what do I have to do with the article of "Grilled Chicken of Wichian Buri"? Bjj dev (talk) 17:26, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing, I made an update to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Grilled Chicken of Wichian Buri. Nothing should be done until the AfD is closed.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:16, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear CaroleHenson, I created this article Clarence Winthrop Bowen and I was working with user Mabalu to improve it. I was following their suggestion to add references and changing the image of the spouse, Roxana, see her talk page, when Magnolia677 started to revert my edits, in this way also removing the improvements requested by Mabalu. In the end, Magnolia677 put all images above, and sincerely I do not like it. The images I found are related to specific sections: one is the main portrait, one is the spouse and it goes at the sentence about the marriage and one is for the career and it goes to that section. Moreover I do not like that Magnolia677 uprighted the portrait of the wife, it's not necessary and it's visually strange in comparison to the other two pictures. This is an article I created and would like to manage in a different way. May I do it in some way? is there a specific reason why I have to accept this layout that is not nice? --Elisa.rolle (talk) 12:50, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Additional info. I was exchanging this topic with Mabalu:
Elisa:I found a better quality for the wedding photo, I uploaded it on wikimedia and linked the page. I left the portrait on the wikipedia article.--Elisa.rolle (talk) 12:02, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Mabalu: Elisa.rolle, nice find! Can you update the file description to show where you found the image as it is no longer your "own work"? Mabalu (talk) 12:04, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Magnolia677 removed the link to the wikimedia since they do not like as it appears. --Elisa.rolle (talk) 12:54, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Elisa.rolle, I am sorry, I missed this. Has this been worked out since you posted this? If not, what is it you're wanting me to do?–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:03, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
CaroleHenson, I found the Wikipedia policy that said that putting all photos far from their reference is to be discouraged and moreover, I improved the article with the infobox for person therefore it was even more "bad"; I therefore moved back the two pictures (bride and career) to the right place, but I left the upright for the portrait: with the new layout is not so bad. I'm sorry if this will upset Magnolia677, but the previous layout was bad for many reason, and this is an article I created therefore I do not want to accept and editing that is against my wishes AND against Wikipedia policy. --Elisa.rolle (talk) 21:08, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
by the way, like another user we well know, it seems this user as well is following the "Ignore Rules" policy. I'm fine if I'm adding something to an article that maybe they created and/or are managing, but accepting this approach and attitude in an article I created is not something I can agree. --Elisa.rolle (talk) 21:10, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Elisa.rolle, I don't know enough of the specifics to say that the user is following "Ignore all rules" - sometimes there are competing rules. I think that the current layout looks nice. I know it's hard when you're frustrated, but if it's possible to step back and assume good faith. Most of the time, people make edits because they believe they are making it better. You two just have a difference of opinion in what "better" means. I've not seen your edit reverted, so hopefully things will smooth out.–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:24, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

4th GA Cup - Wrap Up

[edit]
WikiProject Good Articles's 2016 GA Cup - Wrap Up

Hello, GA Cup competitors!

Saturday, April 1 concluded the 2016-2017 GA Cup. 64 reviews were completed by our finalists. Although the backlog increased by 42 over the reviewing period instead of declining, the increase suggests that the contest is encouraging editors to nominate articles for review.

Congratulations to Shearonink, who is the winner of the Cup, finishing with 672 points! Once again, just as in last round, this is more than the point totals for all the other competitors combined! It was a close race for second place between Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, who achieved 164 points, and Sturmvogel_66, who earned 150. Though Sturmvogel_66 reviewed one more article than Krishna Chaitanya Velaga, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga managed to earn 14 points more due to reviewing older articles. Our two wildcard competitors, Kees08 and Chris troutman, came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

There were some bumps in the competition this time: The sign-up deadline and the first round were both extended due to fewer competitors signing up then was planned for. And there were delays in tallying points and getting out the newsletter. The judges apologize for this latter difficulty. Lastly, mid-way through the competition we bid farewell to Zwerg Nase, who stepped down from their position as judge due to other commitments. Information about the Final can be found here.

Thank you to all of our competitors, and congrats to our winners!

Cheers from Figureskatingfan, 3family6, Jaguar, and MrWooHoo.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to future GA Cup newsletters, please add or remove your name to our mailing list. If you are a participant still competing, you will be on the mailing list no matter what as this is the easiest way to communicate between all participants.

Companies and Organizations in Nairobi

[edit]

I do have reliable sources for the company. Things like sites with company profile and articles published by bloggers.

I checked out a few companies and used them as templates to develop this as the first wiki page.

This is a major organization in Kenya and have clear knowledge about the company, so I decided to start with them. Once I know through the process would like to add other major companies in the country.

i have seen a lot of wikipedia pages for companies in Kenya which consist of one line and are still approved. I dont understand why? Could there be any reason towards it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deassismoneira (talkcontribs) 20:55, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deassismoneira,
I don't know what companies you're talking about but if editors find that there are lots of reliable sources, for me this is particularly if there are news or other sources from {{Find sources}} search engines -- or if the company meets WP:ORG guidelines -- then it's not questioned the same way as if it's hard to find news and other reliable sources. There are also a lot of articles that have yet to be reviewed, there are a lot of articles written every day and they go into a big queue - and it may be that the articles you're talking about haven't been reviewed yet.
If you would like to write articles that you'd feel pretty confident that they will remain, it's important to look over WP:Reliable sources and WP:Notability.
Do you have some companies, other than that one that was deleted, that you're interested in writing about that we could check for sources and reliability?–CaroleHenson (talk) 21:51, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wrongly deleting my userpage;Citing G3 as reason when the "G"s only apply to mainspace

[edit]

You used your CSD module and speedy deleted my userpage [[1]] , using G3 as reasoning. G3 only applies to Mainspace articles , not userpages. Doing that was in good faith , but I was using that userpage for testing purposes and was never intending to make it a mainspace article. I would like the delete to be reverted. 5tr5 (talk) 17:55, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) CaroleHenson did not delete it, and she cannot restore it. Administrator RHaworth deleted it, and you can take it up with them. BTW G3 applies to pages in ANY namespace, not just articles. That's why the abbreviation uses a G (for general), not an A (for article). --MelanieN (talk) 18:08, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
5tr5, If you think that "University of Colorado Colorado Springs Future 2018 April fools day" page should be returned, see WP:REFUND. As an FYI, due to the nature of the page, if it is restored, it is likely to get deleted again.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:10, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It was not just any userspace article , it was a sandbox. 5tr5 (talk) 18:14, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Thanks, and Morgan Hebard

[edit]

Wow. The page you made out of my proto-page for MH was exactly what I was inclined to eventually produce, but it probably would have taken me weeks to get it into the shape you put it in over night! Thank you so much. Do you do that sort of thing all the time, or do you have a particular enthusiasm for this subject? I was a little surprised there wasn't any page for him given his contributions to entomology, but what you compiled goes into more about him than I was even figuring on and he was my grandfather! Thanks again! Perrydigm (talk) 00:10, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Perrydigm,
I found it when I was reviewing items in the Special:NewPagesFeed. It looked like an article that should be in Wikipedia and I was trying to prove notability. It seems that there is a lot that can be added to the article about his career, travel, and military service.
It would be good if you took a look at WP:COI, since you've identified that he was your grandfather. Even though one intends to be objective, it's so easy for bias and original research (i.e., information that you know that may not be published by a secondary source) that it's good to have someone make the actual additions to the article.
You could, though, copy this to your sandbox and work on it and then submit {{request edit}}s on Talk:Morgan Hebard when you've got the information fleshed out. (As an aside, I don't know if he's your father or uncle (I'm guessing those are the choices), but it also interesting that Morgan Hebard, Jr. was a naturalist and with the OSS during WWII. I'm not sure if there's enough to establish notability for him, but I am sure it's an interesting story.)
Anyway, if I can help, please let me know.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:42, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CaroleHenson, Maybe I misunderstood. I had the idea/impression that YOU added the links and original research and that you had already just approved it. I actually never knew him and don't have any "special sources". His notability isn't about his story. It's about his major contributions to entomology, classifying multiple species and genuses (genii?) and I thought the multiple links you already added indicated that. As I said, I wasn't even figuring on going into his personal life as much as you have already documented. It just seemed to me that the multiple references to the insects he discovered, named or classified should have a page to link to. I'm also rather a newbie (in case you couldn't tell) so I'm not clear exactly how to "copy this to your sandbox and work on it and then submit {{request edit}}s on Talk:Morgan Hebard". You've already been a great deal of help, but I guess I need a bit more in the basic instruction department. Perrydigm (talk) 01:07, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry to cause confusion.
I reviewed the article and marked it reviewed, meaning that I didn't think anyone else needed to review it. There may be others, though, that come along and think that more information is needed to establish notability, based upon WP:Notability (people) or WP:GNG. I don't think it's a big concern, but anything else that establishes the extent to which he has influenced his field is good.
In terms of next steps, you could work on the article in your sandbox. If you would like, I would be happy to copy the article there for you. Then, you could work on the article there - and if you let me know when you have changes ready to post, I could post them for you.
Another option is that you could just write up and cite what you'd like to add and enter a request edit for the talk page. There is more information at Wikipedia:Edit requests. Basically, you would just copy in what you'd like to add or modify to the article, with citations, to the talk page and add the edit request template.
Does that make sense?–CaroleHenson (talk) 01:28, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Perrydigm,
I have thought about what you said and there's another route. How about if you make changes directly to the article and I'll just keep an eye out and I'll update the date the page has been reviewed on the talk page notice. And, then, if an issue comes up and we need to look at going the sandbox or request edit route, we can tackle it then?–CaroleHenson (talk) 13:35, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds excellent CaroleHenson. I honestly don't have much to add to what you already did! I'll look for more citations and encomiums and bear in mind avoiding any possible appearance of bias and if somebody questions it or if you think I've erred, I will be prepared to bow to others' judgement...

Perrydigm (talk) 23:28, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! But I'm still confused; as far as I can tell, I didn't change the URL or the title. I just removed the "name" field from the ref tag. Here's the diff. If I diff from my change to your final change, the only difference is that you decided to change the name of the ref tag, rather than just remove it. Mikeblas, Ah.... the lightbulb went on! Sorry about that!
Well, we're still good - in the next edit, I had renamed it (thinking it was a second instance of dupe-naming) to differentiate it from the other fact sheet.–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:00, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Question about COI editing

[edit]

Hey Carole, hope you're well. I was curious about where to draw the line when refraining from making a direct edit to an article I have a paid COI on. Generally, I abstain from doing so, especially with actual changes to the text, but there are instances such as this one where I've been encouraged to edit directly, or small wiki-code things, like this little edit. Would changes and fixes like these be generally acceptable? I realize that everyone is going to have a different answer, but I'd appreciate your opinion on the matter.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 01:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

FacultiesIntact, I think the best good-faith approach for adhering to the COI guideline would be to post a request edit, announcing that you're a paid editor - as you've been doing. That's my take.
If you have had a request sitting, though, on the talk page for a while (more than a few days), then go ahead and make the change -- with comment / update on the talk page. As you know, the more that you're making changes that have an objective tone and with reliable, independent and secondary sources, the better.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:32, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About becoming an administrator - ORCP

[edit]
Wikipedia needs you! Take the poll.

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia so far; they are very much appreciated. Your experience and tenure have been an asset to the project.

You should consider starting another poll in ~6 months to see what your chances are.

To receive feedback on your chances of successfully requesting administrative privileges, consider starting a poll:

Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Optional RfA candidate poll

Thank you! J947(c) 22:46, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

LOL! Hi, Carole. I think this was a semi-canned invitation, without knowing your history. But I'm delighted to know you are on their radar, and I look forward to your next outing! --MelanieN (talk) 22:48, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I do know that she took an RfA recently. J947(c) 22:50, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You do. OK, good. Maybe a little more personalized notice would have been appropriate, then, rather than "Have you ever thought of becoming an administrator?" I don't mean to be critical, I know that you and the others at the project are doing your best to recruit new admins. But as Carole will tell you, she is working on it and she has some nominators lined up, eager to help when she is ready to go again. --MelanieN (talk) 22:57, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for personalizing it! See you at her RfA! --MelanieN (talk) 23:15, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oops! To clarify: I am asking to be informed, so it would not constitute canvassing. - Sitush (talk) 23:56, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the note, J947 and for weighing in MelanieN and Sitush. The poll sounds like a good way to go.–CaroleHenson (talk) 01:48, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mother Marie-Anastasie

[edit]

Dear Carole, The text was revised by Sister Marie-Theresa, master of the novices from the Convent of Monteils, a great scholar of Mother Marie-Anastasie’s life and work. We don’t have links to all the information, because a lot of them were collected in historical documents of the Congregation. The sources are reliable, because they are from religious people, who lived with Mother Marie-Anastasie or collected information from the sisters’ records. In addition, the images were taken personally, by members of the Congregation of Saint-Rosaire of Monteils, founded by Mother Marie-Anastasie. Therefore, we would like to keep the original essay. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosarioteste (talkcontribs) 18:14, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rosarioteste, There are too many issues to keep the original article, it took me a period over six hours to clean it up and find sources. See Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Major edits of the article.
If you can provide citations that meet the guidelines, including WP:Verifiability, with information about who published it, when, etc. that would be fine. See Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Sources. If you could add notes there with the citation information, that would be great, particularly if you have information about the schools that she opened.
There was a bit of content that was also removed due to tone, so I tried to summarize her approach in a paragraph.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:24, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Or, I can pass the original text to you, what do you think? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosarioteste (talkcontribs) 18:52, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Rosarioteste It is seeming that you are not getting the points about the issues with the content. Did you, by chance, read the Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Major edits of the article section?
If you have sources for the content in Talk:Mother Marie-Anastasie#Sources, I would be happy to help you get that formatted and added back to the article.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:57, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Page Review - Newsletter No.4

[edit]
Hello CaroleHenson,

Since rolling out the right in November, just 6 months ago, we now have 803 reviewers, but the backlog is still mysteriously growing fast. If every reviewer did just 55 reviews, the 22,000 backlog would be gone, in a flash, schwoop, just like that!

But do remember: Rather than speed, quality and depth of patrolling and the use of correct CSD criteria are essential to good reviewing. Do not over-tag. Make use of the message feature to let the creator know about your maintenance tags. See the tutorial again HERE. Get help HERE.

Changing article titles

[edit]

Hi Carole, hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you could help point me in the right direction about changing the title of an article. I know it's no easy task, but in looking at Peter Hancock (CEO), it doesn't seem to make much sense for the article title to refer to him as CEO, now that he is no longer CEO of AIG. I made an inquiry on the talk page but it never gained any traction, or was just otherwise overlooked. Any advice on how to proceed?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 19:45, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FacultiesIntact,
Makes sense.
I see that his name is more often "Peter Hancock" vs. "Peter D. Hancock", as suggested on the talk page. How about Peter Hancock (businessman)?–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:56, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's a great solution. How would we move forward from here?--FacultiesIntact (talk) 23:20, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

communities

[edit]

its rather sad that i cant leave references for the populations. but the site neighbourhood statistics has closed, i had wrote them all down ages ago. but because the site has closed EVERY population figure for places in wales now has a dead link. so what are you going to do delete all the population figures?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattcymru2 (talkcontribs)

Mattcymru2, I don't know what you're talking about. I removed the population number in the infobox of Llandyssil here because 1) it's different from what is in the initial paragraph and 2) from this edit of Abermule with Llandyssil, Ehrenkater said in the edit summary that the 1527 population was for that community and not the village of Llandyssil.
Is that what you're talking about?–CaroleHenson (talk) 15:58, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am editing The Holocaust (I taught it for almost 20 years and I am retired and Western Civ. ) and some are complaining that I don't know the rules of wiki, don't know how to cite ...

If The Holocaust leaves me time, I would love to contribute toWikipedia:WikiProject History - I have always cared very much in history and been involved in curriculum development of history.

Thank you so much. Some editors are starting to loose patience with me.Henia Perlman (talk) 22:00, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Henia Perlman, My pleasure. Folks are generally very receptive to people who reach out for help. And, if we work together on the next set of edits before they are added to the article, that should be a good thing.
I added comments to two sections in your talk page - and added a new one "Next?" to see what you'd like to work on. We can chat there and work together on your sandbox page on any changes or new content.–CaroleHenson (talk) 22:45, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thank you for helping with the mentoring of Henia Perlman. Ealdgyth - Talk 23:36, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks anyhow, Ealdgyth. I'm not sure what they wanted, but it doesn't look like I was the kind of mentor he/she was looking for.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:20, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm about to tear my hair out. Seriously. We need to get away from the insane numbers of quotes in that article (it's on the plan after verifying) but.... I hate to look like I'm biting a newbie all the time. Plus, it's eating my energy for actual article improvements. Suggestions? I'm not always the best person to greet newbie editors, I do tend to be a bit perfectionist. Ealdgyth - Talk 00:23, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ealdgyth, I think that the issue is that the person is very well informed about the subject and wants to share all that he/she knows, but may not have experience writing encyclopedia articles - particularly ones that are already quite long and new additions need to be concise, meaningful, and subject to guidelines.
Personally, I think that there have been a number of edit summary and talk discussions about changes. If it was me, and I had already communicated about disruptive editing, I would add a disruptive edit warning to their talk page.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:29, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Irondome offered at my talk page to help, I dropped him a note. We'll see if he has more luck. I generally try to AGF... Ealdgyth - Talk 00:31, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good.–CaroleHenson (talk) 00:32, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Uh...

[edit]

Was I supposed to revert the Holocaust edit? Sorry - making dinner so hadn't gotten around to it. Had hopes she might engage and try to understand.... (plus, I'm starving...) Ealdgyth - Talk 23:26, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ealdgyth, Yes, if you could revert edits that are unhelpful, that would be good. I thought you had already, but I just saw that someone else did it.
I am hoping that this might help her understand, without having lots of repetitive conversation. I saw that she's reading the copyright guidelines, so that's a start.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:44, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

thank you!

Henia, mentorship

[edit]
Carole, I have formally offered to WP:Mentor H. I have asked her to run any future proposed edits by me on my talkpage first, so I can check them, see what relevance they have, wording, supporting refs etc. Hopefully this will head off any escalations in the future. Irondome (talk) 17:54, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Irondome, I truly hope that works. I haven't seen comments from you recently, so I thought you had enough.
In the meantime, there's an issue at Talk:German-occupied Europe, again where more content is being added without citations.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:04, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've been watching Carole. I want to see how she responds to the offer first. I just don't want thinks to get out of hand.. Simon. Irondome (talk) 18:07, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I am confused about this whole thing.–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:17, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Carole, I just think we are 'misdiagnosing' H. here. Clear WP:CIR and if I can get her to slow down, give me notice on what articles she is working on, and present edits in draft form for oversight, I think we can fix this. It's just gotta be dealt with as a package. It this point the mentoring proposal is informal, she needs to agree to it, and it does not have community agreement, but we wanna keep her off the boards. Simon Irondome (talk) 18:23, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Should we see if she has comments about my draft?–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. That would be a good little exercise. Irondome (talk) 18:44, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, Pranerao, but I am having a very hard time understanding what you're trying to say. I think you're mentioning that the name of the village should be B.Gowdagere. After that, I am not sure what your point is. It is likely that this is a moot point, though, unless you can give a compelling reason why the article should remain... after many failed attempts to create such an article.
Also, please see the comments that I left you regarding responding to talk pages at Talk:Mandyada Sri Shiradi Sai Baba Temple. It's been very hard to follow your comments. –CaroleHenson (talk) 19:14, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

thanks , Praneeth Rao.

Pranerao, I am not sure why you posted what appears to be a duplicate message... except for the mention of {{db-hoax}}, which is not relevant here.
As a side comment, it is not my role to clean-up after your editing issues. I reverted the edit you made - that also included other edits - because it is very inappropriate for you to remove the tags for speedy deletion of an article that you created. I had already commented... and it was mentioned on your user talk page, too... that the process is to contest the deletion on the talk page by adding a message there.
Please feel free to make the edit to the village, if you think that is more appropriate. From the sources and map, it looked like gejjalagere was more appropriate.–CaroleHenson (talk) 19:21, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1. I am confused, you changed it to Gejjalagere in this edit.
2. I cannot do anything about the speedy deletion notice, but since I have explained several times how to contest the deletion, I posted a message for you on the article talk page with this edit.
3. You may have other documents, but what are needed are reliable published sources, like books, newspapers, and magazines, for instance. I have already mentioned this several times.
4. I am not sure what the rest of the points are.
Please don't message me again. Add a message to the article talk page, please. That is where the messages should be posted.–CaroleHenson (talk) 20:59, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pranerao, I am sorry, but I don't disagree with the reason for the speedy deletion. There's hardly any reliable sources to prove notability as I mentioned somewhere - your talk page or the article talk page - or maybe both.
If you disagree with the tagging of the article, though, you can contest the deletion on the article talk page: Talk:Mandyada Sri Shiradi Sai Baba Temple.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:24, 24 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

[edit]

Carole, thank you so much for editing my article. I added the BP/sources by mistake because I had not done articles in a long time. I still need to add more to this article because this person was the reason why ROGG was stopped it was multimillion dollar project to build a road on the Everglades. I will keep adding more. Ok, great!
Regarding signing, if for some reason the tilde (~) is not on your keyboard (it's to the left of the "1" on my keyboard), there's a wikimarkup for it on the "Insert" menu selection in the edit window, just below where you type your message in edit mode.–CaroleHenson (talk) 12:13, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Training on how to add a new wikipedia page

[edit]

Hey, we talked earlier on regarding the bioCard page which seemed to get speedy deletion. I wanted to ask you why does that violate and how can i make a page to avoid those problems which have been raise. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deassismoneira (talkcontribs) 22:51, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deassismoneira,
I don't remember the specifics, but from your talk page, it looks like there were not sufficient reliable sources, which in itself is an issue. Or, it could have been notability. Sometimes such cases get tagged as promotional articles.
I highly recommend looking at Wikipedia:Your first article. It has a lot of great advice.
I got an edit conflict and see that you added kenbro industries ltd or chandaria industries or comcraft group as potential other companies from Kenya or Nairobi that you want to write about. I can help you see if we can find sufficient sources, perhaps using the {{Find sources}} tool.–CaroleHenson (talk) 23:09, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like Chandaria Industries and Comcraft Group are much more likely to be viable articles of the three and have at least one existing Wikipedia article to link to it.
For sources, one of the steps in Wikipedia:Your first article, here are links to queries:
