Speedy deletion nomination of Noah Kellogg

[edit]

Hello Alkihistoryproject,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Noah Kellogg for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Noah Kellogg, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. You are not allowed to remove the speedy deletion request. The article is still a verbatim copy or overly-close paraphrasing of the web site. You claim on the talk page that you have permission to use the material, but you will have to prove that before the material can be hosted on Wikipedia. Please read WP:copyvio and WP:Donating copyrighted materials Meters (talk) 06:48, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. This is a message to let you know that your username, "Alkihistoryproject", may not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Please note that the following types of usernames are prohibited:

  • Promotional usernames: Those which match the name of a company, organization, group, website or product (e.g. "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", "Foobar Museum of Art"). However, you are allowed to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally (e.g. "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "FoobarFan87").
  • Usernames implying shared use: Those which directly imply shared access between people (e.g. "Jack and Jill's Account"), or match names of posts within groups or organizations (e.g. "Secretary of the XY Foundation").
  • Misleading usernames: Those which contain suffixes like "bot" or "script" and imply an account is that of an automated bot when it is not, or titles like "admin" or "sysop" (implying a position of authority), or match names of living people that you are not, such as famous living people. If you are a famous person editing under your real name and your account is blocked from editing, please note that this is not to discourage you from editing, but rather to prevent any potentially damaging impersonation of you.
  • Offensive usernames: Those which contain words or phrases that are likely to offend other contributors, directly threaten or attack another person or some entity, or contain contentious material about living persons.
  • Disruptive usernames: Those which otherwise imply you do not intend to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia (e.g. "WannabeWikipediaVandal").

For more information, see Wikipedia's username policy.

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, website, person or other entity, nor do we tolerate any other 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior, regardless of your username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Meters (talk) 06:55, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your interest in creating an article on Wikipedia. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. You can learn more about this policy at Wikipedia:Copyrights.

If you'd like to use the copyrighted content in an article, you can follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission on how to obtain the proper licensing. If you are the copyright holder, refer to Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to grant us permission to use your content. Alternatively, you could write a new article that does not closely paraphrase the material available online..

I'm sorry this message could not be more favourable. If you have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Drm310 (talk) 07:08, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. undelete request

[edit]

I have email a copyright license to Permissions - English Wikipedia <permissions-en@wikimedia.org>. please see ticket 2017030410009787 could you please restore the latest version of the page. I thought my latest edits would pass muster without granting a license. guess I was wrong.

Also I have been asked to change the username from AlkiHistoryProject to something else. I changed the user name to Alkihistory but the old password doesn't work and I get no email letting me know the new password. Can you get me out of this rock and hardplace. Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by ByandBy (talkcontribs) 16:58, March 4, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for renaming your account, and for dealing with the permissions issue. You will need to ask the deleting admin User:Randykitty about getting the original article undeleted. Meters (talk) 19:20, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If the page is undeleted please ensure that you add a notification to the article's talkpage showing that Wikipedia has been granted permission to use the material from the website. And note that giving us permission to use the material does not mean that all, or possibly even any, of the material will be used. It may not be suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia, or the site may not be deemed to be a reliable source. Meters (talk) 19:26, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please ask the people at OTRS to add the relevant template to the article's talk page. I have restored it at Draft:Noah Kellogg, because it is very far from being an acceptable, encyclopedic article. It contains inappropriate in-text external links, is not adequately sourced, and the subject might miss our inclusion criteria. By moving it to draft space, you can work on it without being interrupted. As you have changed your username, I have unblocked you. --Randykitty (talk) 20:27, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The {{OTRS pending}} tag needs to be placed on the article in question, not on your talk page. If it has been deleted, you can make a request at WP:OTRSN. --B (talk) 15:23, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Noah Kellogg, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 21:08, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
