File:Camp pico blanco 50th anniversary camper.jpg

The last version of File:Camp pico blanco 50th anniversary camper.jpg was actually in PNG format. I renamed it to File:Pico Blanco Scout Reservation 50th anniversary.png. The description in the caption at Pico Blanco Scout Reservation no longer matches this new version. You need content in the article body to properly include this image. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 15:02, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for catching my error. I see the problem. Would rather use the patch that references OA and White Stag. Will upload a substitute using the same name later on today. The image file contains the warning, "There is no significant content in the article that relates to this logo." There is a paragraph about the anniversary observance. What constitutes "significant content"? -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 21:37, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Concerned about photograph

I'm concerned about the following image: File:White stag phase1 candidate.jpg. The photograph contains recognizable images of minors. I hope their parents have granted permission (preferably written) for their children's images to be released on Wikimedia servers for publication. Gentgeen (talk) 08:24, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

The answer is yes, we have written photo releases for all youth. Thanks for your concern. -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 20:51, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I guess I have taken the Youth Protection training too seriously, but it's always better to be safe. Gentgeen (talk) 01:00, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as White Stag Leadership Development Program, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.whitestag.org/aims/index.html, http://www.whitestag.org/aims/principles/index.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:White Stag Leadership Development Program saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Jezhotwells (talk) 22:59, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Oh, *snap*! You sure Chose The Wrong. 166.137.135.30 (talk) 23:41, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
There is no problem. I am the copyright owner and will submit the necessary emails. --btphelps(talk) (contribs) 05:54, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
I sent the following to the WP copyright email address a few minutes ago:
I am the author and copyright owner of the aims of the White Stag program written here
http://www.whitestag.org/aims/index.html
The above page describes four brief aims which are quoted on the Wikipedia entry. I give permission for this text to be used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License.
User Jezhotwells also cited a copyright infringement in that text in the Wikipedia entry is also found here:
http://www.whitestag.org/aims/principles/index.html
However, the opposite is true. I took the text I wrote on Wikipedia and used it on the White Stag web site. As soon as I am able, I will add a citation to the White Stag web page referring to the Wikipedia article as the source.
Thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter.

Jezhotwells, I appreciate that you have reviewed many, many GA articles and have made some great contributions to WP: However, I believe you went a little overboard in adding a {{copyvio}} and blocking the entire article for three paragraphs and four sentences of suspect text (out of a total of 80 paragraphs). According to WP guidelines, "If some, but not all, of the content of a page appears to be a copyright infringement, then the infringing content should be removed, and a note to that effect should be made on the discussion page, along with the original source, if known. If the copyright holder's permission is later obtained, the text may be restored."
Hasty, ill-considered reactions like yours, especially for content that has been in place for more than a year and gone through a previous GA Review, create an unwelcome environment. Rash actions like yours are one reason people are leaving Wikipedia and ceasing to make contributions. A little less copyright paranoia and a little more good faith would be appreciated. -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 07:03, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Please note quotation, even without attribution, is specifically allowed in international copyright law, and single sentences are generally not protectable. The remaining three paragraphs cited as a copyright violation are the opposite: quotes on the White Stag web site from the Wikipedia article about White Stag. -- btphelps (talk) (contribs) 07:54, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

The article White Stag Leadership Development Program you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:White Stag Leadership Development Program for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment.
