Duplicate use of refs

[edit]

There is a format for using a ref more than once. I did Basile as an example. David notMD (talk) 10:56, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Barnesbw91 (talk) 11:15, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On ref naming for multi-use, the quotation marks are optional, and I personally prefer ref names that in someway link to the reference rather than just :0 to :X numbering. I use a name or other signifier and a publication year. Hence my Basile2017. Also, each Edit summary should be specific to the changes that were made rather than repeating a generic description. This helps other editors find when certain changes were made to the article. David notMD (talk) 13:37, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I understand that. Barnesbw91 (talk) 15:06, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

IF there is a photographer who is willing to cede all usages of photos of Travis with or without fellow band members, then that photographer can go to Wikipedia Commons and download those photos. This would allow you to take the images from Commons and insert into article. The contributor(s) of photos have to be those who took the pictures, not the people in the pictures. David notMD (talk) 13:54, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If I am employed by the owner/creator I still can not upload these photos? thanks Barnesbw91 (talk) 15:05, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Photographers are presumed to own the copyright to photos they took. The chandlertravis website states at bottom that content is under copyright. Cleanest route would be for a photograhpr of a previously unpublished photograph to put that into Wikipedia Commons, with understanding that anyone, anywhere in the world, will have free access to using the photo. David notMD (talk) 21:07, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, the photographer Rawlins is creating a wikipedia account so that she may add this photo to the commons.Barnesbw91 (talk) 19:08, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Submit?

[edit]

In my opinion this is now good enough to submit. May take 6-8 weeks for a reviewer to do it. If declined, the reviewer will state reasons, which are then a guide on how to further improve the article. Subsequent reviews are almost always by a different reviewer, so no prejudicial opinion carried over. Good luck. David notMD (talk) 14:10, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for all of your guidance on my first article, you have been extremely helpful and I am very grateful for your assistance. I am adding some content about his family and touring in Europe and Japan in addition to a few questions Travis is clarifying and then I will submit the page.Barnesbw91 (talk) 19:06, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Old Edwards Inn and Spa moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Old Edwards Inn and Spa, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ~~Cheers~~Mgbo120 18:41, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much I had though the draft prefix was added automatically I understand this now.Bryan Barnes (talk) 18:46, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I added "the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use" to the description. This has not been previously used in any articles. May I delete the speedy deletion request? Thanks for communicating with me. Bryan Barnes (talk) 07:27, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed the linked article too, it is on the page draft:Old Edwards Inn and Spa Bryan Barnes (talk) 09:30, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Elected Officials requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
