User talk:Bruno Russell
Hello, Bruno Russell, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Debra Stephenson have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

Copyright violation
[edit]Hi, Bruno. I had to remove some text you added to Gone to the dogs. This version of the article contained a plot synopsis that was copied from the web (apparently, it appears in lots of sites, but I found it here). This is not allowed. While you are free to use other websites as references for the editing you do here, you need to write the articles here in your own words. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:04, 25 October 2011 (UTC)

Info
[edit]Here is some more information on the "hjhj" page that your sister made: Just so you know, you can ask a Wikipedia administrator to delete it. You can also blank the page (removing all the content), which also informs admins that you want it to be deleted. Also, you could get your sister her own Wikipedia account (so she won't mess with yours). Be careful though because if anyone vandalizes multiple times, they risk getting blocked. If you want to play and test though, click here, your sandbox. You can practically write anything you like over there. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Disambiguation link notification
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Lapland (TV Drama), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Stephen Graham, William Ash and Matt Green (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of 18th National Television Awards
[edit]A tag has been placed on 18th National Television Awards, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia for multiple reasons. Please see the page to see the reasons. If the page has since been deleted, you can ask me the reasons by leaving a message on my user talk page.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. [[ axg ◉ talk ]] 21:06, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
18th National Television Awards
[edit]I noticed you re-created this article after I redirected it back to the main page. I have since redirected it back as this awards show is not happening for another year thus does not have enough verifiable content about that specific edition of the awards show to warrant it's own article just yet. The content "To be hosted in January 2013 celebrating...an award?" is written as a TV programme blurb and is not encyclopedic hence is not suitable content for the article. Wikipedia is also not a crystal ball so re-creating this article will only be appropraite when offical sources confirm the show is to return next year AND there is enough content to warrant it's own article set apart from the Main awards article. Until then the redirect is only appropraite. Many thanks. AngelOfSadness talk 13:37, 26 January 2012 (UTC)
Copying a table
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please replace the code {{help me-helped}} on this page with {{help me}}, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
If I copy a table off another article to use on a different article because I dont know how to make the layout of a table is that OK?
- If you just copy it in order to use the layout, that's fine: if you use any of the content of the table you copied, you must mention in the edit summary the article you got it from, in order to provide attribution - see Wikipedia:Copy-paste#How about copying and pasting from one Wikipedia article to another? Please do not revert me without comment, I am not a vandal. If you are reverting me, provide an explanation of why. Currently, all Only Boys Aloud has done is appear on BGT- and appearing on BGT does not make you notable. Once they have done something outside of the show (a few significant appearances, a record contract, something like that), then they can have an article. This is how it has always been. Nomination of 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

[edit]Please do not remove the {{copyvio}} template from articles, as you did with List of Silent Witness episodes. Your action has been reverted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted, and removing copyright notices will not help your case. You can properly contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If you are the owner of the material, you may release the material under the Creative Commons and GFDL licenses, as detailed at WP:IOWN. Alternatively, you are welcome to create a draft in your own words at Talk:List of Silent Witness episodes/Temp. If you continue to insert copyright violations and/or remove copyright notices, you may be blocked from editing. As the template prominently states at the top, please don't remove it until the issue has been examined by a copyright clerk or administrator. The user who provided the rewrites is possibly himself a serial copyright violator (currently the subject of a CCI and sockpuppet investigation) so this needs to be carefully checked. Deletion of Satyakiran school of NDT
[edit]Hi! Thanks for nominating Satyakiran school of NDT for speedy deletion. I have deleted it, but you should be aware that articles about educational institutions are not legible for speedy deletion under notability criteria (see WP:CSD#A7). But as the article was basically a promotion and also a copyright violation, it could be deleted under that (and has been done now).
Please keep up the work with tagging new pages, as it makes sure that the original editors know what they need to do to correct the articles to avoid deletion (assuming they can be saved) and hopefully stops them from making the same mistakes in the future. Thanks. Stephen! Coming... 11:57, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Hey Bruno Russell
I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).
So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.
What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.
The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.
Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 21:51, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
I have reverted your addition of a non-free image to this article. The effect of the non-free content criteria is that non-free screen-grabs and promo shots etc are not permitted in articles about living actors.--ukexpat (talk) 20:22, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, if you're collecting information, then you can save the page when you've added the information. As it stands, the article does not suffice. I don't care if it's starting soon, that doesn't matter. All the information is already at I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (UK TV series)#Series 13 (2013), and that is that it will happen. You can even work on it in your userspace (Help:Userspace draft). But at the moment all I can find online is rumours as to who might go in. –anemoneprojectors– 21:09, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi, just wanted to tell you a couple of things about this. The reason the page broke was because the text "for Saturday's flash vote please ONLY add who is in the bottom two (not who is safe)" was commented out separately from the table being commented out - if you used the "preview" button before saving you'd have seen that it had gone wrong and probably wouldn't have pressed save. I did the same thing (previewing it first so I could see the error) - I was editing at the same time and got an edit conflict (not a problem, though I was including all the links to all the songs as well). Also regarding this edit. the reason it's over two lines is because at the end of the series, the percentages will be revealed and every row will go onto two lines (see series 9 for example), and last year we were putting all of these "eliminated (week n)" bits onto two lines throughout the series, and I doubt this year will be an exception, though I won't revert it as it's not really important, but someone else probably will. –anemoneprojectors– 09:27, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

You are right in that I hadn't noticed that you'd copied the text from an old version of Silk (TV series). However as you did not attribute the text properly when copy and pasting it was not easy for me to spot this. Indeed by not attributing the text you would have technically created a copyright violation, even if the original text was appropriately licensed, as the CC-BY-SA license requires attribution and this is lost when doing a copy paste move without an appropriate edit summary. There are ways this can now be fixed but there currently seems little point given the bigger problem. However, please follow the instructions at WP:CWW when copy and pasting text within Wikipedia in future. Dpmuk (talk) 15:04, 17 April 2014 (UTC)

- Hi! I'm placing this here even though I believe that this problem may have arisen in the same way as the one above. You don't need me to repeat the sound advice that Dpmuk has given you about copying within Wikipedia. But in view of the large number of copyright warnings on this page, I am going to ask you to please be very careful indeed about copying in future. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:00, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
Copyright problem: List of Death in Paradise episodes
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as List of Death in Paradise episodes, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. - Again, it seems to me that this may be a similar situation to the above, but I'm putting this here anyway. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:28, 28 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hey! Same as before. I created this page because I felt it was needed (otherwise main article too long). I've had no contribution to editing the episode summaries since. I have done clear up edits over time, but did not realise that whoever inserted these summaries had used copyright text. I've made many of these "list of episode" articles in a similar format..... (Ant & Dec SNT, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, I'm A Celeb, Silk, Call the Midwife, Ripper Street etc...) I then have very little contribution to these articles once the article is initially set up. Hope that helps. Bruno Russell (talk) 17:07, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Intracellular mature virion
[edit]Hello Bruno Russell, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Intracellular mature virion, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 17:08, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- Martijn Hoekstra, I have proposed for deletion - realised speedy deletion may have been a little rash in this situation. I feel that the article is lacking references and needs attention from an expert and therefore proposal for deletion remains until such a time when it is of a better standard (of course if the standard does not improve over the cause it will once against be nominated for deletion. Bruno Russell (talk) 17:11, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Bruno, I even have serious doubts that the claims in the article are correct. I'm no expert in the matter, but if I read the article of Poxviridae it seems to be more a general virion form, not one specific to poxviridae (mind you, before today I never even heard the term virion, I might well be full of it) It really should either go, or be improved, but not through CSD. PROD looks fine for it. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 18:17, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Bruno Russell. This one does not meet criteria for speedy deletion, in my view. He is apparently a national champion in a sport. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 17:32, 6 May 2014 (UTC)
Copying content from one page to another
[edit]Hi, Bruno. Unfortunately, I've found yet another article you created by copying content from one page to another. This predates the notices you received earlier this year, but since I don't see any indication that you've understood the problem and since you were pointed to the policies on how to do this in February 2012, I want to be sure this is clear. Not following this process is a copyright violation. Content on Wikipedia is not public domain, it is simply very liberally licensed, and when you copy content from one article to another without satisfying the attribution requirement you violate the license; that means you are infringing on the copyright of that article's creators as well as violating Wikipedia's copyright policies. It's absolutely crucial that you follow the processes described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia going forward any time you copy content from one Wikipedia page to another. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:18, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Union Films (student cinema)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Union Films (student cinema) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Photo request in Wexham
[edit]Hi! I'm looking for somebody to take a picture of the Teikyo School United Kingdom (Framewood Road, Wexham, Buckinghamshire SL2 4QS UK), a boarding school for Japanese people, so it can be used in its Wikipedia article. Is it okay if you photograph the main entrance (seen in this image)?
If they let you photograph the campus buildings that would be a bonus :)

They're probably North Korea and not Japanese if there's no photo available! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Protrump (talk • contribs) 19:42, 11 December 2017 (UTC)
