Saw your gym article activity. Please feel free to upgrade the Chris Brooks (gymnast) article. I started a stub, but it could use more content! TCO (talk) 18:15, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some more information.

Please do not move articles into non-existant categories

[edit]

Your edits left many people in red-linked categories. Please pur articles only in categories that actually exist. Thank you. Courcelles 22:28, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was correcting the category, as international elite gymnasts competed for Great Britain or Ireland in the Olympics. They should not be redlinked anymore. The changes just needed to catch up.

And anyway, most of them are English/Scottish, which is more specific than British. We put articles in the most specific categories applicable, and which team they competed for in, say, the Commonwealth Games is more telling here. Courcelles 23:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The commonwealth Games is the ONLY time they will compete for the separate countries within the United Kingdom. These gymnasts are on the BRITISH national squad and compete for Great Britain in Olympics, Euros, Worlds and other international assignments. I know gymnastics very well, and can assure you that 'British' is the best category, especially for anyone wanting to find out more about the athletes within the sport of gymnastics. If someone wants to be a separate subcategory, that is fine. But 'British' should still be a category.

Agree with you, Courcelles was acting aggressively gnomey and showed lack of understanding of the content.TCO (talk) 23:12, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re your message: It is likely to be an unrelated person who shared the same name. The editor attempted to create an article about themselves, but did not say very much. Feel free to create a new article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:24, 13 January 2012 (UTC) Brilliant. Thanks for letting me know. Bio stub for Sean the gymnast now created. Tough to find decent sources now though! Brunettekoala (talk) 00:06, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
