Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Brian.butt, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Halocene, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome! Jalen Folf (talk) 00:44, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A draft already exists at Draft:Halocene, where the contents of your attempts were merged. Please work on it there instead and submit through WP:AFC. Jalen Folf (talk) 00:45, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am working on getting more information from "reputable" sources. This is a band that does exist. Brian.butt (talk) 00:49, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is not in question, we are held to generally assume good faith, so if you can bring the sources to support what you write thats ok. Just work on the draft and if you feel it is ready submit it. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:28, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is not a good idea to merge the information about a band into a show that is accused of stealing from them. I am working on getting sources that verify notability. Since this band is fully independent the notability rules are very hard to meet even though they have a large following online. Brian.butt (talk) 18:25, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CNmall41,
The band has over 640k listens a months on spottily, multiple videos with over a million views on YouTube how do I prove that they are notable enough? Brian.butt (talk) 21:25, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Anarchyte was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Unfortunately, this band is not notable outside of their Masked Singer incident, and that is not enough to demonstrate WP:NBAND.

The current rules for notability are antiquated and do not take into account modern steaming platforms. There are other bands that have smaller followings that have pages that are not deleted. Look at Concrete Castles. Brian.butt (talk) 15:58, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You may take the discussion to deletion review if you believe my close was incorrect, but you may not undo the redirect when you were the sole participant to support retaining the article. cc @Onel5969 Star Mississippi 03:09, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't the sole participant to Support retaining the article. There had also been changes made to the article that proved notability they were ignored in your deletion. Brian.butt (talk) 21:45, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is not "my" deletion. In addition to the AfD, four editors declined your creation at AfC. As you were advised at my Talk, continue to improve it, don't rush to submit it. Star Mississippi 02:33, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by CNMall41 was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Rejected numerous times, moved to main space anyway and then deleted pursuant to a discussion. Resubmitted again after decline without improvements. Wikipedia is not a WP:PACT and we do not need to keep entertaining WP:TE.
