Infobox reviews
I have to ask, where does it say no reviews in infoboxes? I can't find it in MOS. freshacconci talktalk 11:03, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Has been so for long time, see Template:infobox album#Professional reviews. --Muhandes (talk) 12:22, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- OK, but that's nowhere in WP:MUSIC or WP:MOS. What kind of consensus was reached on this, since so many albums contain reviews as standard? freshacconci talktalk 12:32, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm just guessing here, but I think consensus was reached at WT:ALBUM. The fact that it was not removed from so many infoboxes is for the reason I stated in the section below - that if an editor removed it, they should add a critical reception section instead which is too much work. I totally don't accept this user removing sourced reviews and doing nothing about it. I believe sourced material should not be removed because of MOS. --Muhandes (talk) 12:50, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- OK that's fine. And, although apologies to Bovineboy for having this extended conversation on his talk page without his presence, there doesn't seem to be widespread awareness of this. As well, mass removals of the reviews with only a perfunctory "no reviews in infoboxes" with no further explanation or discussion is pretty bad form. freshacconci talktalk 13:24, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

- Hey everyone. I'm going to go back through and add reception sections for those articles with reviews. I just found it easier to do it this way. Sorry for the confusion. BOVINEBOY2008 14:19, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Very well, having that in the edit summary would have avoided the confusion. I actually think moving reviews from the infobox to reception sections is a good idea and I'm happy someone is going to do it - so well done :) Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 14:59, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
reviews in infoboxes
If you remove a review from the infobox, please put it in the article itself. Other editors work hard to find those reviews, you can't just remove them on grounds of formatting. --Muhandes (talk) 12:14, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Bovineboy2008.
- When you are moving the reviews you are sometimes causing "Cite Errors" to be created. ie Dances with Wolves (soundtrack) and Jonathan Livingston Seagull (album) (See Category:Pages with missing references list).
- This is because that page has no References section ie. {{Reflist}} or <references/>. Please add these if a cite error occurs. The pages need a "References" section anyway!
- I suggest that you preview the pages before saving, and look right at the bottom of the page for any red text.

Film titles and disambiguations
I noticed that you recently moved a couple of documentaries to their proper disambiguations such as (film)/(YEAR film). There are more, what do you think about moving them as well? I could make a run at it if it's appreciated. jonkerz♠ 16:15, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- It would be appreciated. I generally move ones that I come across as it isn't that pressing of a matter. Mostly, when I go through the list of unassessed but tagged film articles, I make sure they are named "correctly". BOVINEBOY2008 22:46, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

Removal of Lemuralia from List of albums released in 2011#June
Hello. I was just wondering what your reasons for removing Lemuralia EP by Patrick Wolf from List of albums released in 2011#June were? There are other EPs on the list, so I assumed that this EP would also be valid. Thank you. Chris (talk) 20:19, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oops! I didn't even realize I removed that. Must have been editing an older version of the article which over-wrote your edit. I'm restoring it right now. BOVINEBOY2008 20:21, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
- No worries. Thank you Chris (talk) 00:29, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, project film
Hello Bovineboy2008,
Thank you for your interest in the article The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I see that you have returned it to Project Film. While I may disagree that an article needs to be a part of any particular project, and I do not agree that it was vandalism to remove it (as you stated in the edit summary), I do see your action as part of a consensus to keep it in the project. I will not remove it unless there is further consensus to do so, which is unlikely. While consensus is not a vote, your actions show there was no silent consensus for it to be removed. Thank you for your contribution and please feel free to add to the article if it interests you.--Amadscientist (talk) 00:25, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Amadscientist. The only reason I considered it vandalism was because the banner was removed without explanation. You are fine to your opinion about the necessity of projects, but articles about films do fall in the scope of WikiProject Film, so I would ask you don't remove banners without either good explanation or agreed upon reason from either the project or the regular contributors to the article. Thank you. BOVINEBOY2008 00:41, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Correct. Discussion is always best in removal of information, but need not be discussed on the participating projects as the addition to or removal from a project is dependent on the consensus of those involved editors only....having said that however, any edit in good faith should be discussed on the talk page and I do apologize for not discussing first. I also feel an obligation to assure you that I will not be removing any further articles from any projects without consensus.--Amadscientist (talk) 02:17, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Apology accepted :) Happy editing! BOVINEBOY2008 02:20, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Kung Fu Panda 2
Hello there, I see that you have reverted my edits to the date that Kung Fu Panda 2 came out in Canada. I have reverted your edits manually, because it is strictly important to include the date that a certain movie came out in a large country. If it was a smaller country, then you're right, it wouldn't matter that much; but again, Canada is the second largest country in the world, and the film came out on a different date then the USA. That being said, the date should be included in the infobox. Thank you for your cooaperation. :) Monkeys 9711 (talk) 19:32, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
It's not a big deal to me, but what's the reason for removing this category from films with "2012 films" in the title? -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:24, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- They better belong in Category:Upcoming films. They haven't been released yet, and even the films with set release dates can be changed or pushed back or cancelled all together. I think it goes against WP:CRYSTAL. BOVINEBOY2008 14:28, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- It seems kind of silly to suggest that WP:CRYSTAL prevents articles with "2012 film" in the title from being categorized as 2012 films. :) -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:32, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Well, yes, and that's why I think (upcoming film) would be a better disambiguation. But I'm not willing to change several page names for that. BOVINEBOY2008 14:34, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
- Using "(upcoming film)" sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I'll try moving them and see what happens... -- Ed (Edgar181) 14:39, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

Article quality assessment
Hello Bovineboy2008,
thank you for taking the effort to add an infobox and review my first ever article on the English Wikipedia, Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die. I was wondering what were your reasons for marking it as a Start-class article only? As I am a total newbie here, I tried to stick as much as possible to MOS:FILMS, WP:NPOV, WP:V and other Wikipedia rules and guidelines. I've had a look at the WikiProject Film Quality scale and feel that the article doesn't meet the criteria for Start-class; it's pretty well referenced and quite complete; I tried to put all the information I could find into the article. I know, however, that the quality of the prose may not be the highest, for I am not a native speaker of English... Would you mind taking another look at the article? And, as I am not that knowledgeable about the enWP, would you mind telling me what you think may be done to make the article even better and point me to guidelines that you think I should take into consideration? Thank you! Regards, odder (talk) 21:04, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Odder. I think what you are missing is a production section. I see you have a strong Reception and a decent Broadcast section, but you could do with something about how or where the film was shot, who was involved and why, etc. I think I may need to reassess it otherwise. I can see that is definitely C-class and possibly even B-class, but it is relatively short compared to other articles at B-class. If you would want other opinions, feel free to request an assessment at WP:FILMA#Requests for assessment. BOVINEBOY2008 22:13, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately, there isn't much to write about the production of the film beside some background information on where it was shot (England, Guernsey, Belgium, Switzerland) and who was the producer (KEO North + some exact names); I don't know when the film was shot, because a date was given only for the final scene (10 December). I'll try to add the information when I wake up in the morning (UTC +2) and then will ask for an assessment at the WikiProject page you've provided. Again, thanks, and happy editing! odder (talk) 00:29, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
DYK for Korkoro
On 23 June 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Korkoro, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the 2009 film Korkoro is a rare cinematic tribute to those who died in the Porajmos? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Removing reviews
Hi there. Why are you removing reviews? Shouldn't they be moved to the body instead? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 20:33, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Muppets
Hey, I noticed that you have been doing some work on The Muppets (film) page. I was thinking about removing the Green With Envy image, and I was curious what you thought. Love to get some feedback. Thanks. --TravisBernard (talk) 20:52, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
Nintendo task force membership update
Hello,
It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do periodically to keep our membership up-to-date.
All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on 1 August 2011, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles.
