I think I messed up, but you're the one Bishzilla is coming for
I reverted you here, because you removed my support (Bishzilla will get you for that), but I think your other removal, of your own support, was probably intentional. Right? Because the commission is only supposed to have three members? Anyway, I'm not sure of your intention, so you'd probably better check and fix it the way you want it. Bishonen | talk 11:24, 6 October 2019 (UTC).
- Ah, one of those secret edit conflicts that happen from time to time and the software doesn't tell you - you should send Darwinbish round to the developers' shack to bite their ankles. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:26, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
Thank you

... for your concise summary of the Ritchie case, - nice to not feel alone, wish I could restrict myself to such elegant brevity. I typed a lot on my talk this morning, ending on "should be unblocked", - and then found out he was ;) - "don't believe in miracles, rely on them" (Mascha Kaléko).

Grrr
Saw you edit the candidate page [1]. Got over excited. Humph. WormTT(talk) 15:57, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

- Boing! said Zebedee, maybe one day. Kicking and screaming. WormTT(talk) 16:08, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- I honestly can't think of anything that would make me want to take on such a horrible task, to put myself up for two years of toil doing a near impossible job just for the reward of suffering non-stop abuse. People have criticisms of ArbCom, some justified, but the outgoing committee has done far more good for the community than a lot of the most vocal critics deserve (which is something I would have said if I were to write a guide this year, which I probably won't). Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:14, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- Boing! said Zebedee, well, I'm glad you got to say it here at any rate. And thank you. I really appreciate the kind words, and I hope that the other committee members see them. WormTT(talk) 16:26, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Grrr Boing! I guess you can guess how I feel about you handing in your bit. You should be running in this election, not me. If I get elected (and I'm not optimistic anyway) I'll reluctantly give up all my other projects on WP to work at Arbcom, someone has to do the shite and Dave told me years ago that it's horrible. But someone has to do it. Let's just all be happy that Dave is re-running... Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 16:41, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- Kudpung, On the upside, it's not nearly as horrible as it used to be. There are downsides (See my answer to Carrite's question), but at least we've got rid of the worst of it. WormTT(talk) 16:46, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm pleased to see Dave running too (and NYB, it will be good to have him back). Overall, I think we have a good bunch of candidates this year, and the main reasons I probably won't be writing a guide are that 1) Those two exceptional candidates don't need my help, and 2) There are no horror candidates* that I feel the need to actively oppose (ignoring the joke one who won't be elected). Same happened to me ;) - I added you to my table, looking up Precious 219 and all, - only the red link on the questions page made me take a closer look. Well, I found 11 supportable candidates already, and that's before Kudpung answered. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:50, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

- Ooops! I certainly has...but apologies, I actually meant undeletion! ——SN54129 18:02, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
- With a field of more than 11 good candidates, I really don't want to influence those around my cutoff point unduly, as the differences will be marginal. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:09, 13 November 2019 (UTC)

December 2019
Deep breath - breathe
In all the years I've known you - I don't think I've ever seen you as mad, angry, and disgusted as I've seen you the past couple months. Fram and then Ed. I share those feelings, but look forward to a new year coming - and perhaps some peace in our souls. All my best to you Boing — Ched (talk) 21:42, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ched. Yes, I could go on at length about everything that's wrong here and how it seems to be getting wronger, but there's no point. I'm drawn to just going away and having a long break, but at the same time I want to watch and see what's happening. Anyway, best to you too. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:34, 8 December 2019 (UTC)
You protected this page in 2012 after a persistent POV-pusher kept trying to interpret a character as a domestic abuser using a poor source. I see extensive talk page discussion where the same POV was exhaustively argue but that also stopped in November of 2012. There have been only two edit requests since then, one unformed and the other (which I filled today) innocuous. I have also looked through the edit filter history and the page history and do not see any current need. I am not, however, able to discern if this was part of a longer-term pattern, perhaps spread over multiple articles. If the latter is not the case, I suggest that it may be time to reduce this to unprotected. Are you willing to reduce the protection level now that it's 7 years later and the show is no longer in current production? Thank you for your time. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:21, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Eggishorn. It's a little puzzling that I protected it indefintely, and I think that was probably a mistake. I'm no longer an admin so I can't unprotect it now, but I have no objection if any other admin (perhaps one watching?) wants to do it. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 16:31, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for your response and also for your previous service as admin. I returned this Fall after a wikibreak and it never occurred to me that you might have stepped down. Given this year's messes, I guess it's not very surprising. Still, you were one of the good admins and I hope to see you around as an editor. I'll wait in case one of the admins who have posted here recently picks this up before going to RfPP. Best holiday wishes. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:41, 9 December 2019 (UTC)

New SPA at Uebert Angel
Hi, young Boing! There's a new SPA at Uebert Angel, making the usual promotional + original-name-removing edits. I've reverted and warned them and posted ds for BLP's but, well, they're usually impervious to that. Would you please consider another long semi-protection? Bishonen | talk 21:17, 17 December 2019 (UTC).
- Crap, I just realised you've thrown down the tools. It didn't in fact take me more than a second, but Wikipedia chose that second to be "experiencing technical problems". :-( Never mind then. Perhaps there are some little admin stalkers out there? Bishonen | talk 21:25, 17 December 2019 (UTC).
- Oh, I remember him. I don't think anyone would complain if you do that yourself. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:36, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, great, isn't he? Doug Weller has semi'd for three months. Bishonen | talk 12:14, 18 December 2019 (UTC).

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry
No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well B. MarnetteD|Talk 17:25, 19 December 2019 (UTC) |
G11
Yep, you get a lot of incorrect G11s *cough*... Black Kite (talk) 00:57, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, and I'm surprised at the extent to which people sometimes pursued the "intent" argument with me when I was an admin (which I'm not now, so I can't actually see what's irritating your throat ;-) Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 01:04, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
- Ah shit, I forgot. It's an article about an Indian film director which RH deleted as a G11 today. It isn't. At least one of his films has an article. It should've gone to AfD. Black Kite (talk) 01:07, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
