Adoption?

[edit]

Hi, would you like to be adopted by me? Respond here or on my talk page!Derild4921 16:39, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Or me? AirplaneProRadioChecklist 00:08, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, to begin first replace Airplanepro's offer with this. .

Now, we first need to find your interests. Do you like science? Books? Sports? Find a few Wikiprojects you might be interested in here. Then, you can start editing within those topics. I will stalk watch your edits for a while then give you some feedback. After say, a hundred edits or so, try getting involved in some behind the scenes work such anti-vandalism, WP:CSD etc.

And a few things about me:
Ok, thanks. I'm going to do some editing around the Quakers - there's a project Wikipedia:WikiProject Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) which I'll join. Thanks. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 16:03, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, good job so far with that article. If you hope to keep on building onto that article to raise its quality level, try and look up some info about him to have different sections on the different times such as Biography, death, etc.. Make sure you cite when necessary and add in reliable sources. Derild4921 22:46, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Without a lot more detail this doesn't meet the notability criteria to be an article on it's own, so I've redirected it to the article on the Swarthmore lectures. NtheP (talk) 13:34, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thank you for your article on Social Service - its place in the Society of Friends, which is notable because of the speaker, Joshua Rowntree and the topic, which caused one of a number of dissentions prevalent in the RSoF at this time, on the verge of the "Great War". I will try to add some more context, to please User:NtheH, as soon as I get time. Vernon White . . . Talk 16:21, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do. I'm just making short articles at the moment on RSoF-related topics - especially biographical articles on the Valiant Sixty etc. Thanks. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 19:42, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Very useful. Do you have free online access to Oxford Dictionary of National Biography? You may avoid the strictures of the Notability Exclusionists by making a statement in the Talk page attached to the article, justifying the notability of the article that you have initiated. Vernon White . . . Talk 13:57, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't, but there are plenty of web resources on the RSoF - although I can't find very much on the lecture at the moment, there seems to be enough coverage for sm-one who's interested to make a much longer article about it. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 18:14, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Diabolical Rebaptism has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Possible Neogolism. Dictionary definition, and no indication that the term is particularly notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TexasAndroid (talk) 21:23, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So far...

[edit]

You're on the right track now, but be careful that when you remove speedy deletion templates. Usually an admin will come around to see the article and if it really should be deleted it will. Be sure to read WP:NOTABILITY before making an article to establish its notable. Also, you may want to read up WP:CSD so you know if an article you make might be tagged for speedy deletion. Derild4921 21:51, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I thought proposed deletion and speedy deletion were different ? I haven't removed any speedy tags, just a proposed deletion one on Diabolical Baptism. Thanks, anyway. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 10:23, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please list all Transformer articles you nominated for deletion

[edit]
Ok. I'm going to nominate a few more today, and I'll list them there. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 17:34, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you should make a new section for every single nomination, because that doesn't look very good. You can lump them together in lists or just edit the same section. NotARealWord (talk) 17:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks, will do so in the future. Blest Withouten Match (talk) 17:57, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy BWM. Why have you chosen to get Transformers articles deleted? Has Wikipedia decided to get rid of fictional and/or animation based articles? GoodDay (talk) 21:39, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What you are actually doing, however, is not helping. It doesn't help Wikipedia to just go and robotically nominate lots of articles for deletion with boilerplate rationales and no research underpinning your argument. Actual help, in this instance, would be to put in the effort of looking for sources yourself on each article that you suspect, and nominating for deletion those articles where you, after an active effort to find sources, couldn't find any; explaining where and how you looked, and what you did and didn't find. From the above conversation: ''One of my friends..."? Oh well, it was your choice to go this (sockpuppetry) route. GoodDay (talk) 13:50, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
