Removal of sources and images on Playback singer

Hi, can we do something on playback singer as this editor HFM Expert is continuously removing reliable sources from the article?Kishfan (talk) 13:36, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

The investigation was opened against you due to your disruptive editing pattern and violation of three revert rule. I have not edited the article but have reported against you. HFM Expert (talk) 13:43, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
"I have not edited the article"? Your edits say otherwise. This is plain disruption now and I have blocked you. Black Kite (talk) 13:47, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

For your work on Scott Hutchison's biography. Shame it's under such sad circumstances. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:57, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Absolutely devastated tonight. Wife in tears. So, so, sad. Only saw him last week playing with Mastersystem, seemed on top form. That's depression for you. Black Kite (talk) 17:43, 11 May 2018 (UTC)

I noticed your work on Maria Freire. Perhaps you might be able to clean-up John Porter (Illinois politician) which was significantly edited by the same SPA/COI that works at the NIH. MB 01:52, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of Hoxton Ventures

I see you deleted the article Hoxton Ventures (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hoxton Ventures). I think your decision was ill-considered - there were 2 keep votes to 3 delete votes (not counting the nominator), hardly a consensus for delete. The keep votes gave detailed rationales, unlike the delete votes. Also, this article was nominated for deletion by as part of a mass-deletion campaign of venture capital firms on the part of HighKing (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Notion Capital and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eden Ventures for other examples). Not much thought has gone into it - HighKing has just copied and pasted very similar filler comments. This attempted mass-deletion seems to be an abuse of the AfD process, since it does not allow defenders time to respond adequately. I suggest you reverse your decision to delete Hoxton Ventures. -Mparrault (talk) 14:22, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

  • There were actually four delete votes, the nominator counts as one. Also, the article looked very promotional and a good part of it was simply paraphrased from the company's website. I am quite happy to restore it back to Draftspace if you wish to work on it (just let me know here), or you may appeal the deletion at deletion review - if you do this, again please let me know. Thanks, Black Kite (talk) 17:41, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
    • Deletion Review is likely a waste of time, and I'm not interested enough in the company to move it to Draftspace. Being promotional is not a reason for deletion. Thanks for the reply.-Mparrault (talk) 18:42, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

ITN

Hi Black Kite, thanks for updating ITN recently. Can you remove the image of Alex Ovechkin? The NHL Stanley Cup Finals is no longer in ITN, but there is still a confusing image of him. Thanks, Natg 19 (talk) 18:29, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Comment on Skandha (disambiguation) closure

I just wanted to comment that incoming links is not useful for determining the usefulness of a dab page, because one would expect a dab page to have no incoming links (they should be disambiguated to whichever topic they're supposed to refer to). Page views would be more a useful metric. Compassionate727 (T·C) 19:47, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

You do realize Anderson's not in high school anymore, right? All but one delete !vote was based on the assumption that he was, despite ample evidence to the contrary. Smartyllama (talk) 19:24, 18 June 2018 (UTC)

  • Figured this would be here and taking the liberty of answering since my !vote was cited in the close: coverage of a high school athlete doesn’t magically not become coverage of a high school athlete because they graduate. Literally every high school quarterback in the US would be entitled to an article upon graduation if we followed this logic to its extreme. Coverage in high school does not count unless it is non-routine. It is not the person’s current status but the status at the time of the coverage that matters. Your !vote and those !voting keep ignored our clear exclusionary guideline here, which is why any admin worth their salt would have closed it as delete even before my !vote. By arguing GNG and ignoring YOUNGATH you were essentially admitting they failed the inclusion criteria. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:39, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
  • The fact that you think YOUNGATH trumps GNG for someone who is no longer in high school, and therefore is no longer a young athlete, shows a gross misunderstanding of the notability criteria. I ask again - @Black Kite: - was it your interpretation of consensus that Anderson fails GNG, or were you relying solely on consensus that he fails YOUNGATH? Smartyllama (talk) 18:25, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
  • I was thinking about opening a DRV since the majority of AFD voters wanted to keep and yet deleted the article anyway because you liked TonyBallioni's vote, but I decided against it. That being said I still think your close was incorrect but I don't feel like asking to fight it. My only request is that you recreate the article in draftspace so it can be worked on and moved to main when appropriate, maybe in several months. ~EDDY (talk/contribs)~ 19:04, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

A bicyclette at Vietnam war

Hello, I just wanted to notify you that an editor that you recently blocked for 31 hours for violating 3RR at the Vietnam war article has again violated 3RR in the last 24 hours. He started edit warring again and canceling out other editors' actions just a day after his block was lifted. You can check the article's edit history to confirm this. He was warned twice today, once by another editor who warned him he was edit warring and that he should stop and the second time by me when he violated 3RR. I asked him to cancel his last revert, but I believe he won't do it so I will most likely need to report him again on the noticeboard. I just wanted to notify you of this editor's behavior which is troubling since apparently he doesn't take notice of warnings or blocks. If I indeed do report him in the end, this will be the 3rd time he's been reported in the last two weeks, twice in the last week. EkoGraf (talk) 21:07, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

I have made my position clear previously. He will continue to edit war until blocked and then return and do it all over again until permanently blocked, wasting the time of a lot of Users. regards Mztourist (talk) 09:47, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
He's been blocked again by someone else. I will warn him this time and if he continues to edit-war after this block expires then a much longer block is called for. Black Kite (talk) 11:57, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
Finally! Thank you. Now lets see how long it takes until he returns in another guise. regards Mztourist (talk) 03:51, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for your intervention since he continued edit warring again literally right away after his second block expired. Based on his requests to be unblocked, he still doesn't seem to get that compromise through dialogue is needed instead of pushing for ones own POV version of the text being inserted. Also, his comments that he doesn't see how a partial revert is considered a revert or that a discussion simply needs a longer time period (without acknowledging a compromise is actually needed to come out of that discussion) are concerning. EkoGraf (talk) 15:53, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

Apologies for Reverting Edit. Please see Cristiano Ronaldo talk page.

Hi Black Kite,

Apologies for reverting your edit as I thought you were a new user and were utilising PoV.

I have now started a new section on the Cristiano Ronaldo talk page, as I was the original writer for the section back in 2014 where I made changes, to both Messi and Ronaldo's pages to reflect that they were "the greatest" and not "one of the greatest". You can see my reasoning there.

Hijiri/Dream Focus

I hate to beat a dead horse, but are you imposing a formal IBAN between Hijiri88 and Dream Focus as part of your ANI close, or not? power~enwiki (π, ν) 22:41, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Afternoon, just an FYI, whether it was me stuffing up the formatting when copying the List of Australian Army Cadet units page into the XfD, it was not deleted when you closed the nomination. The talk page has also since been recreated. — IVORK Discuss 03:41, 4 July 2018 (UTC)

Unlinking

A few of your edits, namely [2], [3] and [4] are removing entire blocks of text rather than merely removing a link. Were these deliberate? If so they really shouldn't be marked as minor. —Xezbeth (talk) 12:09, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

  • That's the XFDcloser script doing that (and it automatically marks them as minor). I must admit, I didn't realize it removed as much as that. If you feel it's wrong, please restore it as you feel fit. Black Kite (talk) 12:16, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Article deletion spree by User:My_Lord

User:My_Lord is placing deletion templates on articles that don't suit the Indian nationalist opinion for the disputed Kashmir region. Using his expertise he got deleted pages like 2006 Doodhipora killing, Bomai incident, Ramban firing incident etc. Here is an archived external link to a full article the user and its proxies got deleted so that you can know their intentions.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Esther Petrack is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Esther Petrack (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 16:40, 16 July 2018 (UTC)

==Toby Young article== Hi there, I noticed your argument (on what I think is a now archived section) about Toby Young's page, that adding some quotations would solve the problem. Unfortunately, I don't think it does, since the problem was the debatable and unnecessary claims of misogyny and homophobia. I'll try to write something that gets the facts across without taking a stand on that controversial point; you're welcome to get back to me if you have objections. Cheers. "Wasp" edits

Hi. If you look at the history of the Wasp article, you can still see the names of all the blocked accounts, because of the editors who reverted each of those edits; your attempt to render them anonymous does not appear to be technically feasible. Nonetheless, the effort is appreciated. ;-) Dyanega (talk) 00:49, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

I don't believe block notices can be removed whilst a user is blocked. If so, perhaps this user's talk page access be revoked? Thanks. --Ebyabe (talk) 20:33, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

  • As soon as the Commons page is updated with that information, then we can certainly include that image. The text, however, appears to be copied from a number of pages with copyright notices. It would be better to rewrite this text - it does need copyediting for English grammar anyway. Black Kite (talk) 10:41, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

ANI close comment

Hey, this might seem like a minor thing, but I'm not happy that your ANI close comment didn't include the 72 hrs block by Oshwah which was the initial result of my ANI thread. That being included might help summarize it better for someone glancing at the thread, which I believe also is the function of the closing comment. --Pudeo (talk) 14:42, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

That's not what I wanted done. I only wanted the section on the interaction ban proposal closed, and the rest left open. Now that you've one-click archived the whole thing, what am I supposed to do? Clarify topic ban restrictions

Hi. Am I allowed to revert obvious vandalism such as this, despite my topic ban? If not, can I report it to someone? Thanks--יניב הורון (Yaniv) (talk) 21:04, 25 September 2018 (UTC)

Or just report it someone else that is active. I'll sort it out if I'm around. Black Kite (talk) 22:29, 25 September 2018 (UTC)
