Comment on Talk:Notability (sports)

Sorry, but I think we are going on an unrelated tangent on the talk page, one that I do not wish to continue. I am making no accusations, simply that different communities have different interpretations of a guideline. This isn't even unique to French vs. English, but is very common within the English language Wikipedia itself. Just as an example, look at the rest of that Talk page where they cannot even agree how to define WP:NFOOTY due to presumed notability vs. GNG. My point was, just because one community has come to a consensus (in this case the editors of the French language Wikipedia) does not inherently mean another community must also (the English language Wikipeida). Wikipedia has always been a social experiment, and with it comes the sociological differences, for better or for worse.

Wikipedia and copyright

Hello Binbaksa, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. ArbCom 2019 election voter message

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
