FYI
Hello B. I thought of you while reading Tim Pigott-Smith's well written memoir Do You Know Who I Am?. Within the first 30 pages he gives a nice tribute to the kind of repertory theatre that doesn't exist anymore. He also writes about being a young set and prop painter at the RSC in the early 60's when things like The War of the Roses and Marat/Sade were being staged for the first time. Page after page mentions actors whose names I recognize that he worked with when they were all early in their careers. When he gets to his performance as Angelo in Measure for Measure he mentions that they called the BBC Television Shakespeare the "Bardathon" which is kinda cute. Now by "they" I don't know if he means just the actors or if the film crew and writers also also used the term. Best regards and I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. - Thanks for the recommendation. It's been on my Amazon wishlist since it was published, so this is just the inspiration I need to finally get it. Have been a fan of his since I saw the original Clash of the Titans when I was a kid. Bertaut (talk) 04:05, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- I hope you enjoy it B. I read the section about that film a couple nights ago. He has a wonderful story about some time he spent with Burgess Meredith off camera. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 04:32, 12 January 2020 (UTC)

Possible viewing news
Hello B. Many (many now) years ago I mentioned the 1986 productions of the Theban Plays. I have recently discovered that they are available on YouTube and Amazon Prime. Or at least they are here in the US so I hope I'm not getting your hopes up only for them to be dashed when you go looking for them. My "to see" list is getting longer by the day but these have been added to it. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 02:39, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, very nice find MarnetteD. They're on YouTube here too. Looking forward to watching this. Thanks very much. Bertaut (talk) 01:41, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
- That is good news. My old VHS has faded so I'm looking forward to watching them again. A&E also had numerous commercial breaks so I'm happy I'm not going to spend my time hitting the fast forward button all the time. Stay safe and well B. MarnetteD|Talk 02:50, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
If you have the time
Hello B. If you have a moment would you please take a look at this and see if it is reasonable? I also have replied to the editors post here Talk:Macbeth#Big change need talk. If you have other things going on please don't worry about it. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 01:14, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
- Apologies about the delay in getting back to you MarnetteD. Things have been a bit hectic here; this is the first chance I've had to even be on Wiki in a few days. But I'll certainly take a look and let you know my thoughts. Bertaut (talk) 20:22, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
- No worries at all B. Xover is taking a look as well so I know things are in good hands. MarnetteD|Talk 20:37, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
