Speedy deletion nomination of 2014 IHSAA State Basketball Tournament

[edit]

Hello Bencolin1235,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged 2014 IHSAA State Basketball Tournament for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Zeke Sonxx (Whine) 01:52, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Bencolin1235. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Jackson Halsmer, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Jackson Halsmer to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Cotton2 (talk) 19:59, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bencolin1235, Please read add a reference, quoting the school website listing meets etc, is not a quality 3rd party reference. If you want the article to stay, please do a search such as google and find magazine or other references for this article. If you can't find those, your article could be tagged for immediate deletion as a non notable person. Thanks for contributing and good luck. Cotton2 (talk) 17:52, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Run 51 is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Run 51 until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:58, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, please stop adding the band to the list of Christian worship music artists‎‎. The article you created indicates that they are in contemporary Christian music not contemporary worship music, so they don't even qualify to be there. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:41, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The iTunes Store is not a chart as you suggested: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk:Run_51&oldid=786061059 See WP:BADCHARTS. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:44, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The genre on the Run51 page has been corrected to Christian Worship Music. The album "This Moment" is listed on the iTunes Store under Christian & Gospel in the Albums sections. That list includes their recent release.

And you wrote on my talk page that we are questioning their "legitimacy as a band". That's not the case. I'm not sure how you got that impression. We're questioning their notability which is the measure of who deserves an article on Wikipedia and who does not. They're likely a real band, but until they meet the general notability guidelines, they do not get to have an article on Wikipedia. Also, you're the editor who claimed that they're CCM, yet you're adding them to the list of worship musicians. There are no credible claims that they perform worship music (let alone perform CCM, but as an extension of AiA, or at least with ties to them, I assume that's a low threshold). Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at List of Christian worship music artists. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:51, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Band Member of Run51.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Band Member of Run51.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 03:53, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:This Moment EP Album Cover.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:This Moment EP Album Cover.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:39, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Aleksey Tarasenko has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Notice

The file File:Jackson Halsmer.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Uploaded for article that's been deleted as BLPPROD and A7, subject unlikely to ever have an article, no other use.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 23:49, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
