Since Frank P. Pellegrino was brought into the mainspace on 25 January, you have until 30 January to nominate a hook from this article to the Did You Know project if you so choose. Hi Belshay, I had marked this as under review because it looks to be suitable for Wiki and clearly needs some help. If you look back at the page before you redeclined you will see it had a blue 'under review' banner and request to leave the editor to it. It's a small courtesy to leave a page under review alone, but greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Libby norman (talk) 00:49, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NB, have undone your revision, which I wouldn't normally do, but this seems to be the only way at present to place it back under review so I can work on the page. Many thanks. Libby norman (talk) 00:59, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry, I honestly don't know how I could have missed that. I definitely was in the wrong. Will try and be more careful next time. 75.80.176.124 Belshay (talk) 04:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No worries at all – I figured it was a mistake and don't think it helps that the blue header comes right at at the bottom on an article with so many pink rejection notices! Usually under review articles come right at the end of Afc – divided from the rest – but that's also easy to miss when there are so many pages to work through, which there usually are. Hoping to retrieve this one to get it off the backlog as it clearly does exist and I've found what look to be reliable external sources. All best wishes. Libby norman (talk) 11:43, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A beer for you!

[edit]
Thanks for the feedback on the article. I fixed the references to make them standardized in accordance with APA guidelines. Please review again and finalize if you think its acceptable. Although there are a few more refs out there, I tried to stay away from commercial product manuals as references. (Perhaps these should be "Further Reading"?) Thanks again! Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Makro, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 03:08, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Belshay. This message is part of a mass mailing to people who appear active in reviewing articles for creation submissions. First of all, thank you for taking part in this important work! I'm sorry this message is a form letter – it really was the only way I could think of to covey the issue economically. Of course, this also means that I have not looked to see whether the matter is applicable to you in particular.

The issue is in rather large numbers of copyright violations ("copyvios") making their way through AfC reviews without being detected (even when easy to check, and even when hallmarks of copyvios in the text that should have invited a check, were glaring). A second issue is the correct method of dealing with them when discovered.

If you don't do so already, I'd like to ask for your to help with this problem by taking on the practice of performing a copyvio check as the first step in any AfC review. The most basic method is to simply copy a unique but small portion of text from the draft body and run it through a search engine in quotation marks. Trying this from two different paragraphs is recommended. (If you have any question about whether the text was copied from the draft, rather than the other way around (a "backwards copyvio"), the Wayback Machine is very useful for sussing that out.)

If you do find a copyright violation, please do not decline the draft on that basis. Copyright violations need to be dealt with immediately as they may harm those whose content is being used and expose Wikipedia to potential legal liability. If the draft is substantially a copyvio, and there's no non-infringing version to revert to, please mark the page for speedy deletion right away using {{db-g12|url=URL of source}}. If there is an assertion of permission, please replace the draft article's content with {{subst:copyvio|url=URL of source}}.

Some of the more obvious indicia of a copyvio are use of the first person ("we/our/us..."), phrases like "this site", or apparent artifacts of content written for somewhere else ("top", "go to top", "next page", "click here", use of smartquotes, etc.); inappropriate tone of voice, such as an overly informal tone or a very slanted marketing voice with weasel words; including intellectual property symbols (™,®); and blocks of text being added all at once in a finished form with no misspellings or other errors.

I hope this message finds you well and thanks again you for your efforts in this area. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:20, 18 November 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Frank Pellegrino (disambiguation), a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:32, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Belshay. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Frank Pellegrino".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Frank Pellegrino (disambiguation)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 13:56, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you recently ranked Cambridge Analytica as "low" priority on the WikiProject Companies importance scale. I am inexperienced at assessing companies according to this scale, but your assessment doesn't seem to me to match the scale's stated criteria for "low". Given that the company may have had a pivotal influence on the United States Presidential Election, 2016, and has been profiled as such in lengthy pieces in several respected newspapers, are you sure it doesn't warrant at least a "mid" ranking or higher? Thanks for your time. zazpot (talk) 13:01, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Zazpot, thank you for taking the time to contact me. I reassessed the Cambridge Analytica article, due to it having multiple locations both in the UK and the US. Thanks for providing objective criteria. Another good metric for a mid-importance company is assessing the number of employees that the company has. It's easier to tell with publicly traded companies based on market valuation but certainly private companies can be any level of importance on the scale. Though, the importance scale does not determine the worth or value of the article itself, only it's priority within a specific scope of project work to a group of editors working to improve articles. But I have reassessed Cambridge Analytica as mid-importance. If you have any other questions or concerns, just let me know. Belshay (talk) 14:20, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for International Hat Company

[edit]

On 27 January 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article International Hat Company, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that during World War II, International Hat Company was one of the two main manufacturers of the sun helmet (pictured), one of the longest-used helmets of the United States military? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/International Hat Company. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, International Hat Company), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Aleris

Resolved

Hi, Belshay! I saw you're listed as an active participant of WikiProject Companies, and I was wondering if you'd be open to reviewing a draft article about an Ohio-based company? I've been working with Aleris to draft an expanded and improved article, which I've saved here for community review. I've posted requests for assistance at WikiProjects Companies and Ohio, but so far no changes have been made to the live article. Do you have any interest in reviewing? If so, please see my talk page post here. Thanks for your consideration. Inkian Jason (talk) 15:59, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This request has been answered. Take care! Inkian Jason (talk) 17:41, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
