The article List of Red Tories has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

completely unsourced, appears to be original research, some members of this list deny they are red tory

St Charles College

You seem very familiar with article involving Sudbury so perhaps you are there. As for the NPOV on SCC, you might not get a reliable source unless you care to go through the microfilm at the library and also can get minutes of the school board meetings. The change to co-ed was massively protested with student walk-outs and in-school protests, despite having a reserve Brigadier General as the principal. It was nasty. I went out to Garson and took the picture of the entrance because even in early April 1993 there was talk of the big change which did happen. I am not in the mood to check the page history to see when someone swapped in a picture of the Hawthorne Drive building but mine was there for a while. There were also the parents' protests for moving the Catholic boys' school to beside the strip club. That is the part most people remember. There were a few guys who then were in grade 12 on the bus who were for the changes because by that September they would be 19 and thus able to go to the strip club for lunch. The busing for SCC and Marymount had common stops in the outlying towns and points of transfer where two buses would meet so for a bit in the morning I was on the same bus as some of those guys who favoured the changes. Northern Life's .pdf archive comes up a decade short of having anything on the internet for this so one would need to find physical off-line archived sources. Such sources do exist or at least did in 1993. delirious & lost~hugs~ 07:08, 16 June 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for reviewing the Mark_Sutcliffe_(author). I'm not sure I'm clear on why it was rejected. When I select the Mark_Sutcliffe_(author) link that you shared it leads to nothing. Perhaps this is page you meant to refer: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Mark_Sutcliffe_(Ottawa). The article I submitted is far more comprehensive. What do you recommend I do? Add my article content to: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Mark_Sutcliffe_(Ottawa) ?

Lakeshore Road article deletion nomination

I see you nominated the Lakeshore Road article for deletion. Why? Lakeshore Road is part of Ontario Highway 2, but it's an historically significant street in its own right. There is a description of former streetcar service, for instance; material which is definitely beyond the scope of the generic highway article.

PS: Clicking the Talk page links to the Ontario Highway 2 article, not any talk page for the article. If the article is not deleted, how could I fix that?

Tinsel Korey

Hi Bearcat, I cannot edit the article titled "Tinsel Korey" because of an indefinite protection. On the Tinsel Korey article there is a category it says "Category:Actresses from Ontario". Because actress Tinsel Korey was born in Toronto, Ontario. Could you go to the Tinsel Korey article and change the category from "Category:Actresses from Ontario" to "Category:Actresses from Toronto" cause of Tinsel Korey was born in Toronto, Ontario and an indefinite protection. If you can do that that would be great. Thanks for your editing assistance. 2001:569:70DD:7500:39EA:19D8:DF90:EF4D (talk) 19:11, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

This is to inform you that an attempt is being made to overturn an RfC that you voted on

This is to inform you that an attempt is being made to overturn an RfC that you voted on (2 RfCs, actually, one less than six months ago and another a year ago). The new RfC is at:

Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#RfC: Allow private schools to be characterized as non-affiliated as well as religious, in infobox?

Specifically, it asks that "religion = none" be allowed in the infobox.

The first RfC that this new RfC is trying to overturn is:

The result of that RfC was "unambiguously in favour of omitting the parameter altogether for 'none' " and despite the RfC title, additionally found that "There's no obvious reason why this would not apply to historical or fictional characters, institutions etc.", and that nonreligions listed in the religion entry should be removed when found "in any article".

The second RfC that this new RfC is trying to overturn is:

The result of that RfC was that the "in all Wikipedia articles, without exception, nonreligions should not be listed in the Religion= parameter of the infobox.".

Note: I am informing everyone who commented on the above RfCs, whether they supported or opposed the final consensus. --Guy Macon (talk) 03:22, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

You protected it in 2013. I noticed at RfPP that someone was requesting a change. I looked and saw the talk page is protected and that's why the IP had to go to RfPP. Is it time to consider unprotection? Enigmamsg 20:26, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Cheri DiNovo

Hi there. Having been seven years since the issue with persistent vandalism at Cheri DiNovo, I'm wondering if the page and its talk page would be able to be unprotected. I'm currently unable to even request an edit. Thanks, 142.160.131.202 (talk) 05:50, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for your review of my article "Gordon Griffin". I feel very frustrated because I feel I don't know enough about Wikipedia to solve problems that ought to be easy. What seems to be the stumbling-block - over several attempts - is my documentation of what are surely the most publicly ascertainable facts of all! Of course G.G. is in all those films and TV programmes, I have seen many and could probably buy DVDs of many. Of course he recently was awarded the M.B.E. I could probably confirm the latter with a few phone calls to public bodies - or, plentifully, by googling - but that does not seem to meet Wikipedia's criteria. I cited a newspaper article for the award, but when I searched again to see if I could add a precise headline, and page number (unlikely online) - it didn't come up. IMDb is not acceptable - fair enough, Wikipedia itself is not, and many online sources are disallowed. (I tried the BBC Genome for the subject's TV and radio credits, but that was useless as a reference. Though good for some subjects, for this one it gave every Gordon and every Griffin in the Corporations's history!) The British Film Catalogue and The Encyclopaedia of Television - both cited by me - are wonderfully dense resources, but to document page numbers I would practically need months or perhaps a team of secretaries. The task seems impracticable, at least currently. But how do others manage? I browsed a number of Wiki articles and found variable degrees of source detail cited. Saying this doesn't get me any further forward - but I just wanted to mention what the problems seem to me to be, and to comment ruefully that I am having most difficulty supporting facts that in other ways could hardly be more publicly known, and confirmable.

Thanks and kind regards. Rogersansom (talk) 07:50, 6 July 2017 (UTC) Rogersansom (talk) 07:50, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

  • (talk page watcher) This caught my eye as a very unhappy, perhaps not very techie, good faith editor. I've tweaked the draft somewhat - cited the MBE, found him as 6th-most-borrowed-UK in a list of audiobook narrators, found the newspaper reference online, added a couple of categories, etc. I keep well away from AfC, which seems to cause a lot of pain to a lot of people, but I wonder whether you could now move this to article space. My only concern is that there's something a bit unencyclopedic about the tone, which sounds more like the biog notes in a theatre programme, but I don't think it's serious enough to prevent this editor from finally getting his creation into namespace. What do you think? PamD 08:54, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
And I've added his entry in the reliable (I guess) BFI database as an EL - I imagine it will support his entire filmography. PamD 09:06, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Legacy, Calgary

Ran across this article today. Much of it is highly promotional, peppered with marketing talk. My first thought was take it to AFD as a NN neighborhood that could be mentioned in Calgary, but shouldn't have it's own article. But then I saw the Navbox at the bottom with probably 150+ Calgary neighborhoods each with their own article. The few I looked at only had primary sources. So it seems this is another case where notability is ignored. I think I will just cut out the promotional parts (most of the article) and move on. Any comment? MB 03:42, 21 June 2017 (UTC)

Many of the articles on Calgary neighborhoods are very short and contain just a few paragraphs - boundaries, census data, schools Westgate, Calgary as an example. I would say nothing in this article makes Westgate notable, but it's not promotional either like Legacy, Calgary. Since there are editors who believe there should be an article on EVERY neighborhood in Calgary, Legacy could be cleaned-up to mirror Westgate. This would make Calgary neighborhoods consistent, each having at least a short article (even if they all aren't truly notable). Is that better than deletion. MB 15:39, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
I nominated two more Calgary neighborhoods, and there were shortly claims of "consensus" that all neighborhoods of Calgary can have articles. I tried to delete a couple articles on US college sports arenas, and they were kept based not on notability, but on claims that all US Division II football stadiums were notable by consensus. There seem to be areas were editors interested in a subject (US college football, large Canadian cities, etc.) establish local inclusionist interpretations of notability. I think the results at AFD get influenced as much by attendance as by policy. I noticed lots of editors showed up to argue the football stadiums were notable, but no one argued to keep a performing arts facility that, in my judgment, had as much coverage as the stadiums. MB 21:57, 28 June 2017 (UTC)
The AFD on Legacy, Calgary is still open, but the two I did Nolan Hill, Calgary and Sage Hill, Calgary were already closed as keep. I think these were bad closes. In addition to the nom, there were two Merges and two keeps. Since Merge is a form of delete (the article is not kept), I think the closer got it wrong (just counting numbers without weighing the strength of the arguments it should have been Delete or Merge). Even a no consensus would have been better. My question for you is should I take these to WP:DRV? (I also found Saskatoon has similar articles like Brighton, Saskatoon on every neighborhood.) François vs. Francois

Hi Bearcat, User:RCraig09 talks about François vs Francois at the François Lavoie talk page. François Lavoie is a Canadian ten-pin bowler from Quebec City. Hi Bearcat Thank you for the recent review you made to my draft - I'm new to this game, having never made an entry previously.
