Prince Edward Island provincial electoral districts

According to Election PEI website 3 MLAS Edward Clark, Alan Buchanan, Jeannie Lea had resigned 5 months before the 1996 election — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.55.89 (talk) 14:39, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Yes, we know, and nobody said they didn't. But the vacancies didn't carry over past December 31, 1996 into 1997, which is what it would take to make it useful or necessary to add a vacancy line to the tables in the electoral district articles. The tables are organized only by year, not by month-day-year, so it's only useful to add a vacancy line to that table if the vacancy carried over into a new year, so that the successor's term started in a different year than the predecessor's term ended — if the by-election or the next general election occurred in the same year as the vacancy occurred, then the vacancy line is not valuable in that context. But just for once? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.74.138 (talk) 19:58, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Why? Bearcat (talk) 22:53, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

If I do you could unprotected the article of Tony Penikett deal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.59.204 (talk) 05:27, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

(a) If you do what? (b) You still haven't given a reason why unprotection is needed at Tony Penikett. Bearcat (talk) 06:57, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

I need add some few touch on the article on one condition that's all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.59.204 (talk) 07:46, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

And yet you still refuse to answer the question of what "touch", or what "condition", needs to be added or adjusted at all. Even though you've been repeatedly told, by everybody who's ever responded to your requests at all, that you're not doing the things you need to do to get what you want, like answering a simple question or following our proper processes. Bearcat (talk) 01:31, 10 March 2016 (UTC)

OK fine the reason why I unprotected Tony Penikett because I need add some date prefix on the Infobox so the the article will be full complete That's all I got. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 197.132.238.49 (talk) 12:55, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

And the reason you can't just provide the dates that you want to see added to the article, so that somebody else can add them for you, would be...what, exactly? Bearcat (talk) 16:13, 13 March 2016 (UTC)

Dave Hayer edit war

Hello Bearcat. Due to your history of administering Canadian politics articles, would you mind taking a look at BC ex-MLA Dave Hayer?

Despite my warning on his and the bio's talk pages, User talk:Goldwing51 keeps removing citation request tag, the multiple-issues/sources-needed header, and slight critical content to re-insert his trivial, unsourced positive content.

Goldwing51 has only ever edited Dave Hayer bio and Hayer's father's bio. Possible conflict of interest.

Thanks for checking. Canuckle (talk) 23:57, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Niagara Public School

Hi Bearcat. Thank you for your attention to the Niagara Public School article, including in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Niagara Public School. I have just asked there for explanation of how the creator has COI and/or how the article reflects any bias. Perhaps you could respond there? The creator's user- and talk-pages don't directly suggest any COI, and there is no disclosure at Talk:Niagara Public School, so I wonder if you might only have personal, private knowledge of COI that, if disclosed, would possibly seem to be "outing" about the editor. The editor appears to be in good standing, and active, and of course I would not request you do anything seeming to out any editor. Perhaps you can easily, publicly explain what you meant. Otherwise I wonder if you'd like to consider striking the comment about COI. Either way, thanks again for considering this. Cheers, --doncram 21:46, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

5th Queens

Unprotection: Expiration. Mo

No, because the only reason you want it is so you can readd something that you've already been repeatedly told isn't useful or valuable or warranted. Bearcat (talk) 18:09, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Ok fine you're right article is same as usual so I agreed to unprotect the article I swear I,ll never disrupt the article ever again agreed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.20.147 (talk) 19:41, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

But if you agree to avoid making that particular edit, then you don't need to actually edit the page at all anymore. And if you don't need to edit the page at all, then I don't need to unprotect it for you, do I? Bearcat (talk) 20:53, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Yes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.101.226 (talk) 05:51, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Kudos to you for creating the article. Shailyn is the daughter of one of my sister's best friends. Small world. Blackjays1 (talk) 23:12, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi Bearcat,

Thanks so much for your suggestion to the page. I've done some changes on references, removing two and adding one.

Could you please take a look and let me know what else I can do to improve the page?

Your time is appreciated!

1001Bookworm (talk) 21:26, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

If you have the patience, and I can see that it must have been sorely tried with this one, stop by and weigh in on whether we simply delete, or redirect Canova's name to Wasserman's page. And, hey, it's only 7 months till November, you should book yourself a holiday. Seriously, man, thanks for all the heavy lifting you do on these pages.E.M.Gregory (talk) 15:22, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

I would appreciate any comment you may have. Thanks! --Natural RX 16:08, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

So I guess I have been silent from editing after so you can unprotect Tony Penikett and 5th Queens for good right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.66.98 (talk) 19:01, 21 March 2016 (UTC)

Nope, still not how this works. You've already been told at least 500 times what you need to do, and you still won't do it. And being silent for only three days before you come back to do the same wrong thing again doesn't earn you brownie points, either. Bearcat (talk) 01:03, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Look you goddamn I ask 100 times to do it but every time you decline It seem you re not good person I have been dealing with boo ooh(sob crying) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.86.193 (talk) 07:36, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

For the last time, protected Wikipedia pages are not unprotected just because some random person asks for unprotection. They're unprotected because good reasons are given, and you haven't given any valid reasons. And you've been told, repeatedly, what alternatives are available — but you haven't done them, and just keep doing the same wrong thing over and over again. Your requests haven't just been rejected by me, but by every Wikipedia editor or administrator who's responded at all — not because we're "bad people", but because you're not following the rules of what it takes to get what you're asking for. Bearcat (talk) 15:47, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

OK fill I'll the Wiki rules from now on but I had to unprotect Tony Penikett for reason: I need add some date prefixes on the infobox so article seems to be improved that all I got. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.86.193 (talk) 18:49, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Yet again: is there a reason why you have to add the dates yourself, rather than posting the desired dates to the talk page so that somebody else can add them for you? Bearcat (talk) 19:20, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

So you unprotect the article as I promise right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.10.181 (talk) 08:19, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Still no. Read what I said above: protected Wikipedia pages are not unprotected just because some random person asks for unprotection. They're unprotected because good reasons are given, and you haven't given any valid reasons. And you've been told, repeatedly, what alternatives are available — but you haven't done them, and just keep doing the same wrong thing over and over again. And you still haven't answered my last question, regarding whether there's any particular reason why you have to add the dates yourself, rather than posting the desired dates to the talk page so that somebody else can add them for you. You're the one not getting how this works, not me. Bearcat (talk) 14:59, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Ok I need unprotection of Tony Penikett because I need some details on the infobox so the article seems to be improved. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.69.10.181 (talk) 18:33, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

We've already established that part. The question you've failed to answer is, is there a reason why you have to add the dates yourself, rather than posting the desired dates to the talk page so that somebody else can add them for you? Is there a reason that you can't do what the "edit request" process is actually for, instead of persistently abusing it the way you have been? Bearcat (talk) 23:30, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

OK fine there's a proof as a reason why I need unprotection of Tony Penikett to add some details on its infobox I change

there that's all I need

Notability question

Hey Bearcat,

I have a notability question for you. You've been active in the Canadian politics type articles for a while; do you know if by-elections, such as the recent two in Alberta, typically receive their own articles? I was thinking of making some, especially due to the widespread media coverage they have received and their potential significance (without doing any synthesis, which will be a bit more difficult...), but if there is no precedent for having those articles then I won't bother. They would meet WP:GNG, but I don't particularly want to be spending time defending them through repeated AfDs if they clearly don't fit here. The politics wikiproject doesn't have any specified guidelines on by-elections - if you know of any, I would appreciate that info as well!

Thanks, Ajraddatz (talk) 06:48, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

That was exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Ajraddatz (talk) 16:56, 27 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jackie Shane, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hazlitt. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Lucy DeCoutere

Hi Bearcat, would you mind taking a look at the Lucy DeCoutere page? Tamuren has been editing tendentiously and making the page non-neutral. I have attempted to revert the page to how it was before, but the editor has reverted me twice now. There seems to be a pattern of editing here (you've previously reverted his edits).
