RfA Reform update

Hi. It's been a little while since the last message on RfA reform, and there's been a fair amount of slow but steady progress. However, there is currently a flurry of activity due to some conversations on Jimbo's talk page.

I think we're very close to putting an idea or two forward before the community and there are at least two newer ones in the pipeline. So if you have a moment:

Thanks for reading and for any comments that you've now made.

Hi Baseball Watcher, just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. St Francis Grammar School (disambiguation)

Hello. I see that you moved St Francis Grammar School (disambiguation) from AFC to the mainspace. I wanted to let you know I that I have tagged it for G6, as it disambiguates only two pages of which one of these is the primary topic. The second is covered effectively at the moment by a hatnote at the primary. I did a good faith search for other potential entries but there don't appear to be any at this time, but if you come across any please let me know, as the page might then be valid. Best, France3470 (talk) 15:05, 9 November 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know. Baseball Watcher 13:55, 11 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi. :) When you review articles at AFC, please keep an eye out for copyright problems. All of the text in the article OSF St. Joseph Medical Center was recently deleted because it was copied from the official websites related to the hospital. For example, some of the content came from this page. We can only copy content from other websites if it has a license on it saying that it's compatible or if we can be sure it's public domain. These people may have worked for the hospital, but they have to prove they have permission before they put the text here. If you run into people doing this in the future, will you please point out Wikipedia:Copy-paste to them? I find this is a good way to introduce newcomers to what they can and can't do with previously published text. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to drop by my talk page. Thanks! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:05, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Tagging cases for archiving at WP:RFPP

Hey Baseball Watcher. I noticed you've been marking some cases where the closer forgot to use the template. This is just a note that the archive script triggers on '{{rfpp|' anywhere in the section. Even {{rfpp|n}}, which leaves a comment, is enough to mark the case for archiving. So here for example your addition was not required, at least for the script, since another commenter had already placed the official decline tag. Maybe Nyttend should be reminded to use the tag. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 23:31, 14 November 2011 (UTC)

Speaking of which is LikeLakers2 supposed to be placing the decline template since he isn't an admin? Baseball Watcher 23:51, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
I would prefer if he didn't use the 'rfpp' templates. Except for that, anyone is free to leave a comment on an open request. EdJohnston (talk) 03:14, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for marking my comments for the bot. I'm familiar with the protection policy but not familiar with RFPP, so until Gfoley4 left a note at my talk, I had no idea that the rfpp template was anything besides a convenience for people who didn't want to type out everything. Nyttend (talk) 03:30, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

You should be waiting at least ten minutes before tagging with A1. Give the user some time to do another edit. Eeekster (talk) 03:13, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion

I have declined the WP:CSD#A7 speedy deletion request you added to Kieron Elliot. At the time you tagged it, it definitely qualified under A7, but subsequent additions are enough to pass the "claim of significance" bar. However, it may still not be enough to pass WP:ENT, so feel free to AfD it if you like. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:14, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi there

Thank you for tagging an article - Adam Harrison - that I had originally written - I'm not sure whether you have seen, but the article in the state which you tagged it for speedy deletion, had been significantly vandalized. No hard feelings, this kind of thing happens all the time. So many determined vandals!

All the best. Bobo. 19:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

ACC

Thank you for applying to access the ACC tool. As a tool administrator, I have decided to give you access. You may now utilize the tool here - however, before you do so please read the tool's guide due to the nature of the tool. You may also want to join #wikipedia-en-accounts on freenode irc, and also join the mailing list

Please remember that the ACC tool is powerful, and that misuse may result in your access being suspended by a Tool Administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, and once again welcome to the ACC tool. -- DQ (t) (e) 17:05, 17 December 2011 (UTC)

The Adoptee Graduation Barnstar
To Baseball Watcher, in formal recognition of your graduation from the adopt-a-user program. Not only have you exceeded anything the program could possibly offer, but you've become an exemplary editor. I can only hope for the privilege to work with such a dedicated adoptee myself someday. This doesn't mark the usual point where a user has learned the "basics" and can be trusted to edit without guidance. Instead, this is simply a long overdue formality—you're already an established, experienced, and trustworthy user in the eyes of the community. Thank you for your dedication thus far, and happy editing! Swarm X 09:37, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

BusterD RfA closure

Please urgently rethink. I don't think it was completely obvious. HurricaneFan25 — 00:03, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

I reverted you. I do not feel comfortable with a non-admin snow closing a RfA of a long time member with several noms. This isn't a (2/30/X) case. He has support from enough members to make this a less then obvious case. --Guerillero | My Talk 00:12, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

I'd like you to reopen the procedure

I was in the process of refuting the assertions made as you closed. Since I'd specifically requested the procedure NOT be closed as snowball and said why not, this gives me no chance to answer false and unsupported assertions. I respectfully request you reverse your close. Even if I can't succeed, I have a right to defend my actions INSIDE the process. BusterD (talk) 00:16, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Kim Cloutier

Kim Cloutier, an article which you recreated, was marked for speedy deletion by another user. I just wanted to drop you a note that I am contesting that speedy deletion, per Talk:Kim Cloutier, because I believe the subject is notable and that the article should not be deleted. Considering that you were the recreator of the article, perhaps you could explain on Talk:Kim Cloutier why you thought the article was worthy of recreation. —Lowellian (reply) 21:49, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, my mistake. I misread the page history, and User:Modelresource was the article recreator, not you (you only moved it out of "articles for creation"). My apologies for the misidentification. —Lowellian (reply) 22:08, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
