I am not sure what you are trying to do with your edits at the portal. It is not supposed to be just a list of Hinduism related articles (see WP:PORTAL). Can you please discuss your edits and what your goal is ? Abecedare (talk) 06:50, 13 June 2009 (UTC) I have been extensively referring to Wiki on a wide variety of subjects. It is definitely exhaustive as also uptodate, thanks to continued editing and discussion. In my view however, a portal is different from a page- like the hundreds you are talking about and I have listed. My submission is simple. We already have hundreds of well researched pages on the various aspects of hinduism scattered all over wiki. They can all be easily brought together in a well woven portal on the subject like the single window concept. I thus fail to understand the objection to this idea. We are talking here about a portal and not just one page on hinduism.
It is like this- I am looking for a particlar 'uppuran' so I open Hinduism click on scriptures click on puranas then on uppuranas then on the particular holy book I have in mind. I get an idea of what there is in it. From there I may be able to directly link to the library and devnagari text of the same and view graphics pictures and audio, video if any. Many of us may be interested in performing a particular Puja in the prescribed way. So where do I go. Visit Hinduism portal on wiki ofcourse- open Practices open Pujas Open Vidhi and follow the prescribed procedure. Most hindu very much wish to perform every puja as prescribed but few know how. Most of us are interested in having darshan of opur deities at arati time at the temple of our choice. So where do we visit- I would like to be the Hinduism portal on wiki. I am not talking about just listings but well researched and most authentic biographies of rishies or holy practices followed at a particular temple. I thank you for giving me this opportunity.
