Partial updates

[edit]

If you want to update point tables, why are you only caring about entering NTS's result, ignoring the other constructors? Please consider performing full updates in the future (it should not be a huge task for Moto2 manufacturers). Thanks, –Gpmat (talk) 13:51, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1975 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SMZ. CFMoto moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, CFMoto, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. nowrap

[edit]

Why are you making edits like this? nowrap is not a valid attribute for the td element; in fact, it is not a valid attribute for any HTML element. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:46, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mr/Miss Rose64, Nowrap wraps the text for mobile devices allowing for better visibility and readability, the reason I added it is to better the formating of the article for Mobile devices, Thank you Awesometd (talk) 17:58, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Where is it defined, described or documented? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:30, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Rose64 Template:Nowrap, A link to the wikipedia source, nowrap can be seen being used in multiple articles of note, including 2024 f1 season, 2024 t20 world cup, 2024 motogp season articles plus many more that I have not mentioned here. Thank you Awesometd (talk) 05:13, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That is the documentation for the {{nowrap}} template, nowhere does it suggest that it is a valid attribute for table cells. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:15, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Rose 64, I have provided Examples of articles with nowrap being used in table cells, previous versions of the wsbk 2024 articles included it as well
Thank you Awesometd (talk) 06:24, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know that there are examples of its use; what is not at all clear to me is exactly where this usage has been described as recommended, good, or even acceptable practice. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 15:40, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Rose64
I dont believe, I am the one to decide whether it is an acceptable practice, but nowrap increases the length of the table cells to fit the text within allowing for an easier to understand look for mobile devices, I would have liked to include a before and after, but it isnt possible.
Thank you Awesometd (talk) 16:44, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let me put it another way. I don't think that you invented the idea, so where did you find out about it? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 19:22, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr rose64
I have discovered nowrap from multitudes of related Sporting articles with similar table structures, nowrap fixes the bad formating that i see on these tables, so i decided to apply it elsewhere.
Thank you Awesometd (talk) 02:17, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The nowrap attribute has been deprecated since the relase of HTML 4 in December 1997 - that is to say, more than three years before Wikipedia was launched and more than twenty-six years ago. Moreover, it was reclassified as obsolete with the release of HTML 5 in October 2014, so for over nine years now, people should not have been using it. If it works in your browser, that is no guarantee that it will work in other browsers. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 10:29, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr rose64
I understand your reasonings and have read the content you have provided in your reply, I understand where you are coming from and will try my best to avoid using nowrap in any edits i make in the future
Thanks for your assistance Awesometd (talk) 13:42, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It’s great that you are aware of the obsoleteness, but you can’t just assume that the avarage editor here will always read the documentation of HTML5 before editing an article. The fact that there is no message upon editing and no guideline anywhere on Wikipedia that this parameter is invalid and that it is practical and intuitive is why people have been using it in good faith.
