Information icon Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your image was inserted successfully on the page DALL-E, but because it appeared to be irrelevant to the article or violated the image use policy, it has been reverted or removed. Please use your sandbox for any tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. In articles about text-to-image models, examples should connect to the text and illustrate specific aspects of the technology or its cultural usage, as much as possible. Arbitrary cartoons without prompts don't add much to that. Belbury (talk) 17:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Autistic v with Austism

[edit]

I have to admit that I much prefer "with Autism". At some level I think it is better to not essentize conditions. I think it is better to say someone has diabetes than that they are dialectic, but I do not see it as a big deal. My main objection is "autistic" gets pronounced by some too like "artistic". "With autism" gets pronounced correctly, and leads yo less confusion.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:06, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

alr. but anyway, thx for sharing your thoughts. personally, i couldnt care less what happens and i dont mind either to be used AuroraANovaUma (talk) 14:53, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Taiwan

[edit]

Wikipedia tends to combine the political country in this case ROC with its geography Taiwan, so we had a discussion and there was no consensus that the wording island country is supported in the first sentence. Many sources still do not call Taiwan by itself a country, and there are also disagreements over whether ROC legally owns Taiwan or not or if it's still the old China or a different one, so no change was made. CurryCity (talk) 20:33, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ok... AuroraANovaUma ^-^ (talk) 22:55, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The only reason why I put it there btw is because most of the articles for island countries, including those that are de jure nations, use the term "island country" at the first sentence. Taiwan's article is also in Category:Island countries. I honestly don't believe the article having that there would argue about Taiwan's sovereignty in any way but that's only in my eyes. AuroraANovaUma ^-^ (talk) 23:05, 10 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We're more careful with the main article because it contains a lot of historical and political information unique to Taiwan. Lists and categories may care more about geography. CurryCity (talk) 18:58, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
