Soviet School of Translation moved to draftspace

[edit]

I have moved your page Soviet School of Translation to draftspace to main space for a few reasons. First, it has insufficient citations to reliable sources. Only one reference is cited currently. Second, the phrase "The USSR made great contributions to the study and practice of translation," does not reflect a neutral point of view and should be reworded. Third, per your own admission, it is a skeleton of an article. It should not be moved back to mainspace until it is more filled out. I suggest submitting it through the Articles for Creation process rather than moving it yourself. TornadoLGS (talk) 20:07, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for moving it! AstralM0nké (talk) 23:49, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(Not the reviewer) Out of three sources cited, one of them is the subject itself. That doesn't help show that the topic meets criteria for a standalone article ("notability"). The sources also need to have more than just a passing mention of the concept.
The unorthodox method is to not create a new article at all and instead add the information (and sources) to an existing article on a related topic, such as Nagarjuna#Works. If you want, you can create a redirect from Seventy-Stanzas-on-Emptiness to its mention in the existing article and tag the redirect with {{R with possibilities}}. (Of course, leaving it alone as a redlink also works.)
Then, if the topic gains more coverage later on, it can eventually be split or spun-off into its own article. Until then, information already has somewhere in the encyclopedia proper to go (opposed to a draft or user sandbox).
Again, just my opinion; another Wikipedia editor may have a differing view. Thanks for reading, and good luck. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 13:23, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
