Hey, you did a great job with Edmund Ser. You should submit it to WP:DYK to get highlighted on Wikipedia's main page. Let me know if you need help.--v/r - TP 15:44, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think i just realized Im supposed to reply here, but I ended replying on your page instead. I don't think I can submit it to WP:DYK yet, its neutrality has been disputed and too much weasel words have been used? This article is intended as a biography and definitely not a plug for a company. Would really appreciate all the help I can get. Its my first attempt on wikipedia. Thank you so much for reviewing it! Asiareports (talk) 03:42, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, very straight-forward article. Yes, a lil' more can definitely be done to brighten up things here and there. But overall, a really good job. Graeme.greg (talk) 03:45, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback

[edit]

I have replied to your request for feedback at Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 June 2. I second the above suggestion that you should try and nominate Edmund Ser for Did You Know? at the suggestions board after the issues are sorted out. Crisco 1492 (talk) 03:55, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied there. Crisco 1492 (talk) 04:06, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images

[edit]

Asiareports - I've been watching commons and I dont think you understand that the images you've been uploading are copyrighted. You've been getting them off of websites where the copyright is clearly displayed at the bottom of the page. We can't use those here. They'll be deleted from commons pretty soon. When it comes to living people, you pretty much have to personally take a photo or find a photo released under the creative commons license. Simply downloading it from another website and uploading it here won't work. Sorry.--v/r - TP 17:55, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks for the guidance. But, yes I have noted that, thats why I took the trouble to take pictures of the hardcopy publications. None of these new pictures are on the internet. So can it still be on the page? Asiareports (talk) 01:25, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Pictures of publications won't work either. It has to be your own picture of Edmund Ser himself. Anything else is infringing on another photographer's copyright to his artistic work. I also came by to let you know that I've gone ahead and nominated this article for a DYK. If it is approved and selected, it will appear on Wikipedia's main page in a matter of days. You'll get a message here on your talk page if that happens.--v/r - TP 01:43, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for the nomination, and for your time and effort for this article. Really appreciate it =D Also, with regards to pictures, is there any way i can put the pictures up then? Ive viewed a few wikipedia pages, and there are pictures from other websites. What can I do? Asiareports (talk) 03:02, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Because he is still living, it severely limits what we can do. You can try searching flickr, but you need to make sure the photographer released the photo under the creative commons license. You can search for websites, but they must be released under a license that is compatible with ours. Short of that, you'd have to personally take the photo. It's the only way, sorry.--v/r - TP 03:09, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhh.. Okay okay. Sighs, then we can't have any pictures for the page. =S But as for the pictures of the models on the catwalk, since i have some that i took before, can i put it up under the wikimedia as my own work? but im afraid the wikimedians wont believe me haha Asiareports (talk) 03:18, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If it is your own work, then yes you can. Go to the Commons village pump and explain that you didn't understand before but you do now and these new pictures were taken by you.--v/r - TP 13:20, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edmond Ser - Request for suggestions of improvement . Wikiproject:Biography: Requesting an assessment

[edit]

A request for help on improvement was made on "Requesting assessment, Wikiproject:Biography.

Here are my copy edit suggestions: remove links to facebook & twitter, Ser's website probably has links to these sources. The External links appear to be more for advertising rather than being encyclopedic. Maybe remove Hobby section entirely, as it reads as a fan site.

Remove brackets from dates in section titles.

Too many sections with like kind information, consolidate. Combine sections: Fashion shows - there are two sections with the same topic. Integrate Hobby section into Personal life. Fellow designers integrate with Judging and then integrate into "Fashion design career." In other words, try to consolidate same kind information with other same kind information. Simplify. Life (personal history) and then Career (fashion design). The article jumps around too much from section to section.

When editing text, ask: is this encyclopedic information (something you would read in an encyclopedia) or is this promotional or advertising? If it is the latter, then reword or remove. Try to consolidate one sentence and two sentence paragraphs into other paragraphs with the same topic. No need to have a one sentence paragraph when it is the same subject as the paragraph above. The only exception would be in the lead (introduction), as I would have one sentence and then make a paragraph break between "Malaysia." and "He." Change "He" to "Ser"

Unlink Malaysia, it is a common known place or if you keep one link, unlink all of the others. This is in the MOS (Manual of Style). Link a term once, and don't link common terms or terms that do not add to the article's content.

These are only copy edit suggestions from my point of view, and others may have another opinion. Hope this helps. Gmcbjames (talk) 17:29, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Status and Advice

[edit]

A Wikipedia article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases.

If you have the material, then recreate the article. But the material as submitted showed no indication of possible importance. DGG ( talk ) 00:06, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Edmund Ser, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TV3. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Can you clarify your interest/relationship to Edmund Ser? You've consistently, for over 9 years, only ever edited this one article. What, exactly, is your motivation for this one article?--v/r - TP 23:04, 7 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
