I do not edit regularly anymore. I changed my major and am in my junior year of college, so I'm becoming busier by the day. I'm sorry if I don't get back to you right away. Please know I will respond eventually.
- If I reverted your edit in error, let me say ahead of time that I'm sincerely sorry. I patrol edits using the Recent Changes page and, using this method, it can sometimes be easy to mistake constructive edits for vandalism if they are left unsourced or no edit summary is provided.
- Similarly, if I have edited a page incorrectly according to Wikipedia's standards, please tell me! I want to know when I'm wrong so I don't continue to edit incorrectly.
Please start a new section at the bottom of the page by clicking the [+] above, sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~), and respect talk page guidelines.
I will respond both here and on your talk page unless you specify otherwise. Thanks!
Hermione Granger
[edit]Hi! Just saw your edit and I thought I'd let you know that you're right, philosopher's is what we use. The general rule is go with the spelling variant of the country that the article is best associated with and if there is no particular association, e.g. Blue, just leave it as you find it. Happy editing! asyndeton talk 01:55, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I'd be more than happy to help you out in any way you'd like! Just let me know if you have any questions. You can message me on my talk page, or email me (my address is on my user page). Die Fledermaus synopsis subheadings
[edit]While, in theory, I have no objection to your doing this, there has been an attempt by the Wiki Opera Group to create a standard of consistantacy across the board for all arricle (e.g. no boxes, layout of first performance casts, layout of selected recordings box, etc.
So, allowing your changes to stand, might mean that every opera article would need to be changed to match. I won't change anything now, but let's see what happens. Viva-Verdi (talk) 19:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if I messed up the page or violated any standards that were being set concerning these articles. I looked up this operetta when I heard my university's choral department was putting on a show, and it seemed like an appropriate change to make.
- I totally support your effort toward consistency and it will totally not hurt my feelings if my changes are reverted. You all know better than I do! (: Ashleyscripter 02:56, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Can you tell me why did you reverted the text to previous version without explaining what you were doing ? Though I admit I neglected to put in an edit summary for my revision, I had explained what I was doing on the discussion page (and my change was endorsed by zzuuuzz who also knows about UK censuses). Regards. Jonesey
- I only reverted the edit because you did not post an edit summary; I am sorry if what looked like vandalism (since the information was not explicitly sourced in the article) was truly a constructive edit. Also, please do not forget to sign your posts, especially on talk pages. AshleyScripter [talkback|contribs] 21:15, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: Your Note on my talk page
[edit]Please refrain from advising me on how to edit on Wikipedia unless you are an administrator or can provide evidence that your rule is more than an opinion. I am well aware of the differences between British English and American English. As I don't see a rule instructing me otherwise, I will continue to edit as I see fit. If, however, you are an official administrator or can provide evidence that your advice is Wikipedia standard, then I will of course submit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sblachly (talk • contribs) 17:45, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

The British English standard for articles like Harry Potter
[edit]Where can I find a special Wikipedia page which explains what you told me a few days ago about how language differences (such as those between British and American English) should be kept in line with the country the article's subject is most closely affiliated with? [edit]I have made changes to the article. If you would like to look it over I would appreciate it. If I still have something that is not correct please edit it. Thank you Bill James TTCops —Preceding unsigned comment added by TTCops (talk • contribs) 19:01, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
I changed LU's page back to including the Liberty Way. If sports, entertainment, and extracurricular activities can be listed on the page, so can the policies. I am an LU alumni and feel that it is important for people to know the schools policies. ~
- As far as I remember, I only removed information which was word-for-one listed from the Liberty Way handbook, such as the number of fines for each individual offense. This is NOT RELEVANT to an encyclopedia; if a reader is curious, he can go to the document online and see for himself. Also, please don't forget to sign your posts; this topic should also have been put under its own heading as it is not relevant to LUO. AshleyScripter {talkback} 03:10, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks a lot AshleyScripter for your encouragement you sent on my IP on 21:34, 6 March 2008. I have created an id here with which I am responding now. I'm fan of the series myself (I was actually trying editing on Deatheaters page when I saw the message) and I'll try my best in the future also to make any contribution which I might feel helpful and reasonable. In reguards to my removal from the adoption list.
[edit]Hello, my name is Kyle Hardin and this message is in reference to your removal of my name form the adoption list. I am an active user (or, rather, would like to learn how to be) and I've been watching my name on the adoption list for some time now. I requested adoption because I'm very new at editing web content, such as Wikipedia, and need instruction on how to do so, before I attempt anything. Quite honestly, I don't even know where to begin. I had hoped to be adopted by an experienced user, so that I may learn the basics of how to edit and maintain the Wikipedia content. I realize you meant well, and I hope that I haven't done anything faux pas in putting my name on the adoption list to begin with. I would appreciate any instruction as to what to do in this situation, and any help you can give would be appreciated. Thank you for your time Specter (talk) 18:46, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Kyle! I'm sorry if I caused you any grief in removing your name. I did a sweep of the list that day and removed any username which didn't appear to be "active" (there was no specification in the header on what qualified as such). I removed about a dozen names linked to accounts which had very few edits or hadn't edited for more than three months.
- The adoption project certainly appears to be ideal for you and for me, although we are obviously at different stages of experience. I am glad to see your account is still active on some level and I'm proud of you for wanting to learn more!! I'm pretty eager to be adopted as well, but in the meantime, if you have any questions about the basics of editing, I will answer them to the best of my ability, or find an answer for you. I'm also willing to re-add your name to the list myself. (It will take a bit of tweaking of the numbers because the list is organized according to how long the userbox has been on a userpage). Let me know what you think! (: Ashley {talkback} 18:58, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for understanding :D I just want to be helpful to the site, and do something with my free time that is productive. I don't feel nearly qualified to edit large articles, but I'm most interested in doing little "clean-up" or maintenance projects that other people would find mundane. Thanks for your time Specter (talk) 17:59, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi again. I just wanted to let you know I re-added the adoption userbox to your userpage. I also tweaked the numbers so that you would regain your position on the list of adoptees. (: Hopefully, adopters will come by soon and pick you up. Don't forget, though, that I'm willing to help you in the meantime. Happy editing! [Ashleyy|osaurus] 18:11, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much :D the gesture is very much appreciated. I have a simple question about editing for you: am I formatting my talk messages correctly? Because I know that I'm doing at least a few things wrong, so don't be too shy to tell me what I should be doing differently. Thanks again, and I hope you're having a wonderful day! :D Specter (talk) 21:25, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: Good Morning
[edit]Thank you for leaving me a message. I am pretty new to editing Wikipedia, but I have been reading it for several years. I "stole" two of your userboxes that I thought were funny. Hope you don't mind! --Andrew from NC (talk) 00:47, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, you're welcome! And of course I don't mind your "thievery" of my userboxes; I was considering snagging one or two of yours myself. (: [Ashleyy|osaurus] 01:10, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]Hi there. You seem to be learning the ropes pretty well. Would you still like to be adopted by an experienced editor? --Gimme danger (talk) 19:26, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, yes I would, and thank you for offering! (: Have you adopted users in the past? [Ashleyy|osaurus] 19:35, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- I read your user page a little closer and wanted to let you know that my aim is lovelynepenthe. That's generally a good way to get a hold of me and can be nicer than talk page communication. We're pretty close in time zone, thank goodness. One of my other adoptees is a Kiwi!--Gimme danger (talk) 20:22, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Okay! (: I don't normally load AIM because I rarely talk to anyone on it anymore, but I've logged back on and I will probably get on at least anytime I need to talk to you about something. (: And I'm glad you specified what you meant by "a Kiwi," because I wouldn't have known otherwise. [Ashleyy|osaurus] 21:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry that I didn't catch you when you messaged me. I'm not sure why my computer refuses to put up my away messages. I don't know if you were being facetious in that last sentence; in any case, I didn't mean to insult your intelligence. --Gimme danger (talk) 02:52, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Message Response
[edit]I did not know how else to respond to your message; with that said, I apologize, in advance, if I am not using this page by its correct guidelines.
Honestly, I do not know how it is "vandalism" when anyone is able to legally change anything they want on this website. I also did not write anything that was even remotely untrue, nor did I intend for it to be anything more than a simple joke. It is pretty sad that you spend so much time on Wikipedia- an untrustworthy site which is not even considered to be a proper educational source- don't you have a few better things to do? Honestly?!
- Jekaufman, none of your continuous edits (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) on 28 March to the article about Liberty University were constructive or beneficial to this encyclopedia. You repeatedly vandalized a page to which many users have taken the time and patience to contribute. You say your edits were intended to be "a simple joke," but Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia and "joke edits" are not tolerated. All edits should be constructive, factual, and neutral. In addition, part of your response could be considered a personal attack, which is not tolerated on this website. If you do not agree with any of these policies or you continue to feel that Wikipedia is an "untrustworthy site," there are many other informational sources on the World Wide Web. Finally, please do not forget to sign your talk page messages with four tildes (~~~~). [Ashleyy|osaurus] 21:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, quick fyi on date formatting. Only wikilink complete dates (day month and year) and not individual years. Neighbor Rosicky
[edit]Willa Cather was American; she used the American spelling. I have reverted your edit, as per [1].Zigzig20s (talk) 01:49, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- I changed the link because the article exists as Neighbour Rosicky; nothing exists under the title Neighbor Rosicky. I'm not sure why, but every literature book and anthology in which I have referenced this story has spelled it according to British English. Maybe a move is necessary regarding the article; it's probably a good discussion to be made. Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 03:32, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- Apparently both spellings were used, so there should be a redirect. The story was first published in 1930 and the checklist for the Collected Short Fiction 1892-1912, page 598, says 'The spelling Neighbour used in collected versions.'.Zigzig20s (talk) 03:54, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Task for you from sponsion
[edit]Please edit http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Microstructure the word "crstals" is misspelled. Thank you, Sponsion (talk) 11:40, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- No offense, but why don't you edit it yourself? (: Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 23:40, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- No ego to bruise. But, [sic] my ability to edit was interrupted:
- Hi (: I just thought I would let you know that I am removing the adoption template from your userpage. The category's requirements suggest that someone deletes the userbox from the page of an inactive contributor. Your contributions page indicates that your few edits were made two months ago. The category exists to organize users seeking adoption and lists them in the order that they have been waiting to be adopted. It is more beneficial for the project to keep active users at the top of the list. Feel free to re-add the template if you choose to become active in the encyclopedia again. Thank you and happy editing! Ashley {talkback} 20:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Therefore, I figured I'd task you with the little problems I see on Wiki' pages.
- Sponsion (talk) 15:06, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- No no, I only removed you from the Adopt-a-User list because your account appeared inactive. You can re-add yourself at any time, and you are, of course, free to edit as you see fit. Did that clear anything up? Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 17:21, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, I will fix the "crystals", but how do I put myself up for adoption again? Will you kindergarten [sic] me through the process? Sponsion (talk) 19:41, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- You can re-add the adoptme template by typing this code on your userpage: {{subst:dated adoptme}}. Your username should appear on C:ADOPT. If you have any more questions, I'm more than happy to answer them. Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 20:41, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
I don't know.
[edit]I saw the warnings you placed on the talk page of 204.69.139.16. It seems that the edits you refer to are restructuring, rather than vandalism. I really lack the expertise to judge whether it's better before or after. If it is your considered opinion that the edits in question are unconstructive, then please discuss in more detail. In any case I agree with you that it's really important to get this article right, because of this. 69.140.152.55 (talk) 00:33, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I was having a very hard time judging 204.69.139.16's edits to Suicide when they came in such close succession. I reverted some edits because 1) they only appeared to be removing content, not relocating it, 2) the editor didn't provide an edit summary clarifying his motives, and 3) articles on such a sensitive topic are highly susceptible to vandalism and other forms of unconstructive edits. These edits could have appeared less confusing if the user had made one bulk edit rearranging content and entered reasoning in the edit summary field. Thanks, and happy editing! (Also, may I suggest creating an account? Wikipedia appreciates concerned and involved editors.) Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 02:18, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have the habit of making edits in close succession too. But I realize that it might be a bad habit (:-) I still think, though, the {{uw-delete3}} on User talk:204.69.139.16 should probably be removed. 69.140.152.55 (talk) 02:28, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm... I see now 204.69.139.16's "response" on his talk page. You can see what I added; I hope it's okay that I also referred him to you with further questions (haha). I think my message may help. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 02:44, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- May I please remove "Please remember as well to be civil to users; I am aware of the 'rules of Wikipedia'" from your reply to their reply? And also I'd like to suggest removing one of your two mentions of my IP – although I thank you for your favorable mention of me, my involvement in Wikipedia is intermittent; even though one month I may write 2 whole new articles, another month I may not edit at all. [And I am not the best user to ask for advice on edit summaries. (You ideally want somebody with no visible red on this page).] Anyway, thanks again for the compliment, but for assistance with editing a sensitive subject it might be best to just put one's questions on the article talk page. 69.140.152.55 (talk) 03:03, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I wondered whether I needed to mention civility or not; however, I don't think it hurts anything in that message. I removed your IP though. Have a nice day... Ashleyy osaurus (talk) 13:21, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Can you help?
[edit]I see you were listed as a participant in the League of Copy-Editors so it seems likely. The thing is the Military history wikiproject urgently needs prose pros to help with our best articles. Milhist covers a broad range of interesting and varied subjects from film to biography, battles to weaponry, and Roman emperors to twentieth-century dictators. In Milhist, A-Class has become the last port of call before FAC and we are looking for people to help identify prose and MoS issues at A-Class A-Class Reviews and help fix them prior to featured article candidacy. We also have a copy-editing section in our Logistics Dept and that can always use experienced copy-editors. For most of our articles, you don't need to be a specialist in the subject matter, just good with words.
If you think you can help, please do! Thanks for your time, --ROGER DAVIES talk 08:25, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

WP:FILMS Questionnaire
[edit]As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:Aeswithpostsecret.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:06, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
The file File:Student-MadeTogas.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
