Your image additions

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you.
Please note that adding masses of self-taken images is neither wanted nor tolerated as it is considered self-promotion, especially when deleting other already existing images by other users without reason. Therefore, your additions have mostly been undone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.217.118.194 (talk) 20:15, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In the last few minutes you have removed almost all my photos from articles. I have inserted all photos to the best of my ability. if I have exchanged photos, then always according to the criteria of quality, size and timeliness. maybe we can discuss one, two photos, but simply removing them is not fair and frustrating. Sometimes I create extra photos for wikipedia, if I am of the opinion that the previous photos are not good enough, such as at the airport istanbul. I would be happy about a reason of the mass deletion. --Arne mueseler (talk) 20:40, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is widespread consensus here that adding self-taken images to articles in masses like you did is not wanted here. It is considered disruptive self-promotion, especially if you maintain a photography website and are replacing other good images with your own ones for no good reason. That is why your images are getting deleted. Feel free to add images where we actually need new or better ones without rating other users work as not good enough where it clearly is not the case. Best regards.

Henties Bay

Henties Bay is a coastal town in the Erongo Region of western Namibia. It is a holiday and retirement settlement, with angling a popular activity, and also serves as a gateway to the seal colony of Cape Cross, which lies 46 kilometres (29 miles) to the north of the town. The town is named after Major Hendrik "Henty" Stefanus van der Merwe, who found the location in 1929 while looking for water, noting the abundance of fish, and was one of the first to promote the town as a tourist resort. This aerial view of Henties Bay was taken in 2018, with the South Atlantic Ocean in the background.

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! DoctorMatt (talk) 06:26, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the hint, I will be more careful from now on. Arne Müseler (talk) 06:30, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lakolk

[edit]

Hi Arne,

Thanks for creating Lakolk. Please in the future when creating articles like this try to adequately source it per Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability. Don't create articles without properly sourcing every sentence, not every reviewer has the patience or time to that like i did, some may just move it to draft. Happy editing.
